HOW IS HE REAL AND THE PRIME MINISTER AT THE SAME TIME?!
This
+Theo Hamilton (linky00) le "this" pronoun comment maymay xDDD
P.S. everyone who is a prime minister is also real. being real is a necessary condition for being a prime minister.
He is very real I shook his hands one time
He's not. He's vague because he has such a wide range of supporters
+Aurora Ebers Maybe because the Patriarchy isn't real?
The fact that vox has been able to interview Obama, Trudeau and Bernie with only 600k subs is just mind blowing
+legorig Ezra Klein, the founder of Vox, is something of a journalistic wunderkind, well respected in Washington and political circles. Plus, obviously their main focus and the source of their prestige is their news website, rather than youtube channel.
+gp jk none of that really matters today, they still need to have high level connections or donate shitload of money to get access to these people
+rurutu M Clearly it matters. Being a well respected journalist or working for a well respected media institution gives you high level connections.
It's not like they're popular or anything ha haaaa

A guy actually GETTING feminism, and doing things to promote it - AND the guy is also leader of a dang country?!?

so cool for him to be a leader and wearing clothes made locally. Our president hopenot, Trump, has ties made in china, Bangladesh, India, etc, but claims he will do so much for American businesses. Canada is so lucky to have a leader like Trudeau
Well, he knew he was going to be interviewed. Justin often acts this way.
You mean, as himself?
is this an interview or a first date?
+Alex Rapp Why not both?
;)
People who work in journalism always say that a really good interview should feel like a date.
Lol
Those rolled up sleeves are symbolic !

Webster's dictionary defines feminism as the belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities. I really wish more people would understand that.
+Clara Schock What right or opportunity are you denied?
I don't know maybe the right to have equal pay, women still make 77 cents to every dollar a man makes. 62 Million girls around the world are denied an education because of their gender. 4 out of 5 victims of human trafficking are female. One in five women on college campuses experience some kind of sexual assault. Do not mistake this as me claiming that men do not also have it rough, I am just pointing out the flaws in our society. Because yes their are flaws in our society and specifically ones that have to do with gender inequality. I feel that it would do you and all the women in your life to educate yourself on them.
It's really interesting how so many of you on here are just looking for something to be mad at. If you dont like the message of this video dont watch it. If you dont like what I have to say then you dont have to respond. Literally all I said was that we should have equality for men and women for which i was attacked and called dumb. Good job guys you all are making a great case for yourselves. And you wonder why so many feminists are 'man hating'.
I like how if you love him or hate him he was just being him self. He defiantly did not seem to be showing a facade.
Was that sarcasm?

@Spooky Spooks Grow up 😭 you’re obviously jealous
@Spooky Spooks Now when was I talking about his politics? People are simply talking about his looks and charm. Are you confused?
What a lovely and intelligent person!!! I wish he was running for president here
Well, considering the two big candidates in this election, it is difficult to disagree. But that doesn't make Trudeau any less of a dumbass without substance who merely pushes any and all "progressive" ideas, which he thinks will make him look good in the eyes of primitive minds.
are you real
ztrinx1 I didn't really mean it seriously; I understand that he is a nice guy and he seems like a very caring person, but I don't know what his polices are or anything like that. I was sort of just making a offhanded comment. And there's nothing wrong with progressive ideas either. I think it's a good thing to grow with your society and try to understand other people. That being said, I'm not here to get into arguments :) I just wanted to compliment a nice guy.
FangirlingWriter Okay. But yeah, Trudeau seems like he means well, but his ideas are trivial and flawed in almost every aspect. That, or he is a narcissist who seeks constant validation from likeminded people.
Indeed, nothing wrong with progressive ideas, which is why I put "" around the word. Trudeau is not a progressive - he is the king of regressives who like to virtue signal.
He went to a muslim church with a couple of women cabinet members and allowed them to be segregated and made to sit with with the other slave women inside. Yeah.. he's got women's right down pat alright.
I like how this video is not forced to the subscribers and only to who really want to watch everything from the interview.
Thanks Vox for being so considerate and not shove everything in one video.
+v1d300 I think it would be better if they did not make it private
Don't be a feminist, be an egalitarian. Men have just as much problems as women and those issues are almost completely ignored.
They do, feminist are trying to fight that. Trangender, rape, racism, hypermasculinity, classism, etc.
+Proquer Feminist means you think the genders should be equal, not that women have to be elevated above men, or that women are the only ones with problems. I'm not saying all feminists agree with that, but feminism just means that you think men and woman should be equal, that's all. Nothing more, nothing less. Yes, people who claim to be feminists say a lot and put an idea of feminism into peoples brains that's not true. But that happens with everything. Religions and anything with a societal view to it is gonna have extremes and moderates.
+Proquer Feminism is called feminism, because, yes, its about the equality of the sexes, it also recognizes that women need the most attention. Because of how women have historically been oppressed and told to stand behind men. I'm a feminist and i believe that there are certain mens rights issues worth discussing, but almost all of those issues leads back to misogyny. and how society views men and how society views women. feminism helps men
as a male feminist this text explains it perfectly for me, why mra and egalitarians don't solve anything for men.
MRAs believe that feminists are to blame for basically everything that's wrong with their lives. The Men's Rights Movement is a reactionary movement created specifically to counter feminism, and most (if not all) of their time and resources go towards silencing and marginalizing women.
They do things like starting the Don't Be That Girl campaign, a campaign that accuses women of making false rape reports. They attend feminist events in order to bully and intimidate women, they flood online feminist spaces with threatening messages, and they regularly use smear campaigns and scare tactics to make the women who don't back down afraid for their physical safety. They do literally nothing to actually resolve the problems that they claim to care about, and instead do everything they can to discredit the feminist movement.
here are certainly issues that disproportionately affect men -- the suicide rate among men is higher, as is the rate of homelessness. Men are more likely to be injured or killed on the job or because of violence. Men who are the victims of domestic abuse or sexual assault are less likely to report these things. These are the issues that MRAs are purportedly working on, and by "working on" I mean "blaming feminism for."
The problem is that none of these things are caused by feminism, or equal rights for women, or anything like that. You know what's actually to blame for a lot of these issues? Marginalizing forces like class and race, for one thing. I mean, it's not rich white men who are grappling with homelessness or dangerous workplaces or gun violence. You know what else is to blame? Our patriarchal culture and its strictly enforced gender roles which, hey, happens to be exactly the same power structure that feminism is trying to take down.
camrnjurena Why not go a step above that and be an egalitarian, meaning that all people regardless of sex, color, sexual orientation or religion should be treated equally. There is discrimination against all kinds of people all over the world. Why single it down to men and women?
+MichR Feminists on my campus almost made my friend kill himself after he was falsely accused of rape (because ALWAYS believe the accuser). I know he was falsely accused because I was playing video games with him when he was supposed to be raping her.
Feminism is about the rejection of empathy and logic, the embracing of complacent ignorance and at worst, vile hatred.

Justin Truedeau was asked about what sort of role models should men aspire to and he brought up his mother. LOLOLOLOL
Because mothers teach sons how to grow up to be a good gentleman.. Some guys rarely follow the path
hardly. he had two great parents, sadly mismatched, but they were both bilingual, he grew up under our scrutiny in politics, and his father was very progressive and IMHO a good leader.
His mother, unfortunately, was mentally ill, and it became public, and never in a good way. The family also lost the third son, Michel, in a skiing death - his body was never recovered.
Because it's hard not to notice that men don't really have many female role models but women usually have male role models. Mothers should be a role model to their sons just as much as fathers.
THIS GUY JUST AWESOME...
You have a weird definition of awesome
He told his daughter "she is better than any man." What the hell is wrong with you? That is sexism towards men.

+Monica k i mean on average women are physically weaker, we are a sexually dimorphic species
***** well in the eyes of the law men and women are equal and you can't really change society because that would require you to police thoughts
+drag0n_rage Personally I think that society isn't as static as you think. There was a time when society perceived blacks as sub-human. Society does change, just slowly. But that kind of slow change only occurs when you have movements like feminism to bring those unjust inequalities to light in the first place. Sure, it doesn't automatically make things better immediately, but I think it's sure as hell an improvement from the way women were seen in the 60s. That kind of progress occurs because of feminism.
+Monica k is it important to talk to girls about males?
***** why then does this father tells his daughter that she is better than any man, what about his sons, are they included in all the men?

I think the word feminism has lost its original meaning, for a lot of people
What do you mean?
AmesKtown Well, you probably heard of these feminists, that say things like refusing sex towards women is rape (I think there is an article about that), which is ridiculous. Of course that's probably one of the rather worse examples of modern feminism and she didn't get a lot of attention (I think). But that has nothing to do with equality and some people don't see the rest.
I for example haven't really heard of any of the good examples of modern feminism
not that I did any research…
I mean I would consider myself a feminist as long as I am not connected with things that I mentioned earlier
Noah Matera Right, so you are just talking out your ass.
No
I don't know the good things, which is why I didn't mention about the good things.(I don't say they don't exist, but that I don't know them and I know that I am not alone with my/a variation of opinion)
However, I do know a lot of the rather bad things modern feminism has brought us

The word 'feminist' is often confused with 'feminazi'. One of my friends is a vocal feminist and she is one of the most intelligent person I've ever met. The fact is we still need feminist in today's world. There are still places that just can't seem to understand the concept of 'equality'.
this is what i need right now.
he looks like a great guy but he should also tell his son that his son could also be anything that he puts his mind to! we shouldn't choose! you should give them all equal chances and hopes.
I think everyone knows what I mean. if you tell her she can be anything she wants to & she can be better than any man, then you should tell him that he can be anything he wants to and be better than any woman. instead what I understood is that he said she can be anything she wants to and puts her mind to and he told him that he has to know that women can be anything they want to and put their mind to.
where does the poor boy stand with his future? this way it doesn't look like we're fighting for equality but it looks like we are just attempting to switch power between genders that should have never existed in the first place !!

So basically, he inspires his daughters by telling them they're greater than any man, but he inspires his sons by telling them that they can stand up for women...
He is like an angle
Wow. A real man.. who is not intimated by women. love this man.
People try their absolute hardest to misunderstand what feminism is.
Everyone has a different perception on an issue, but as long as everyone are supporting equality, it doesn't matter if they are for or against feminism. The most important things is the idea of equality, not the label/name/theory of it.
It's not very hard when feminists who claim gender equality only ever push or care about women's issues. It's really not that hard to be "misunderstood"
he is such a daddy omg
Funniest part of the video: the two ladies looking astonished/taking pictures of Trudeau on minute 5:55
My only gripe with feminism is that it's supposed to be something for gender equality but even in it's name there are "feminine" connotations, and that's easily misunderstood to make many feminists not equality activists but interested in empowering women only, or solely focusing on women, or believing that sexism only works in one way, which is not true. Not saying that women is not vastly unequal to men on a whole, but sexism does work both ways, and what some "feminists" usually do that's not about gender equality (like blaming men in general, making men the enemy, belittling the sexism that men experiences, an extreme example would be one woman I saw in a video saying that men can't be raped) along with the connotation itself makes people become anti-feminists, which are usually just as bad or maybe worse. In my opinion, feminists and MRAs should be on the same side and work under the banner of general gender equality.
Its supposed to empower and make females equal to men in this male dominated world. And sexism usually works in one way if you look around the world.
and tbh i have never heard for a single time about a case where a man was a victim of sexism.
Anony - Mouse That thought is too simplistic in my opinion. The situation in real life is far more complex. Sexism, arguably to a degree, works both ways, such as a man being expected to be successful and to be supporting the family whilst those who choose to stay at home like housewives are often looked down upon in many societies. There's also the case that a lot of people think all rapists are men and male rape victims aren't taken seriously. There's also small things like how it's okay for women to wear manly pants yet men can't wear skirts publicly without being looked down upon. Good feminists will acknowledge these problems and perhaps say that they are also the product of the patriarchy and that feminism is also here to eradicate that, but as I explained and you somewhat confirm by your comment, this is not immediately apparent and can cause people to think that feminism's purpose is to just empower women, while many argue that it's actual goal is for gender equality.
Is sexism worse on average against women? Arguably yes. Do women experience more sexism on average? Arguably yes. Does sexism only happen to women? evidently no.
It's fine to argue that, as women are more unequal on average, we should devote more resources to making them equal, but that doesn't mean we should ignore sexism against men either, however small you think it is.
Here's the thing. I think we can all agree that up until few decades ago women were suppressed. When there is a major shift in society it can swing the other way for a while, at least a little bit, and at least in some areas, and that's what's happening now I think. I'm not saying it's good or right, but it's what happens I think. And maybe that just says that we really are on the way to equality.
That's just us over here, mind you. I get sick to my stomach when hollywood stars cry about their million dollar wages when they could really take a stand about genital mutilation or child marriages.
if the 'fem-' suffix compromises your masculinity you need to get over it.

I don't think Justin understands what feminists do in theory and what they do in practice
Dude. You can't paint all feminists the same colour. As in any social movement, there are radicals (with whom I don't agree by the way), and they tend to be the loudest and especially the most depicted in any form of media. That amounts to the same as painting all muslims as shariah-enforcing bigots, doesn't it? Feminism is just giving women the rights and tools to be equal to men in both the general public opinion and in their professional and personal lives. End of story. It's not about man-shaming, nor is it about all caps rage posting on the internet about cis scum bullshit. It's just about humans treating each other as equals, and you'll find that most feminists are not feminazis, but level-headed men and women who believe in treating everyone equally.
Patrick Dubois I am not trying to paint all feminists the same the feminists but the feminists i see are all crazy feminazis who hate men no one in the feminist movement has made an effort to say that these people do not represent what we stand for so it is logical to assume that they represent feminist movement values
Noah Smoot I get your point. It is frustrating that no one seems to stand up for the reasonable, level-headed approach on feminism. I think feminism would benefit greatly from dissociating from angry, spiteful women who use this movement to vent frustration. However, two things:
1) I don't think that feminist values are represented by these people, as they are spiteful. Just as American values cannot be represented by the one idiot singled out by reporters at a Trump/Hillary rally to prove a point. Just as Christian values cannot be represented by the excesses of the Church. Men and women are fallible, and we tend to focus on the ugly rather than the good. Feminazis are not a representative painting of feminist values, and are detrimental to the feminist movement.
2) There is no Central Bureau of Feminism. There is no one organisation to condone or reprimand the actions of one another. It is an ideology, not a political party or organized religion. Therefore, it is difficult for a coherent message to get accross and only the loud-mouths get showcased, unfortunately propagating a distorted vision of what gender equality is.
Wow, that was long-winded. I hope you see what I mean and won't dissociate from feminism due to insufferable, angry, spiteful women who deformed the public opinion of feminism.
You know, I don't think just saying "well these crazies don't represent us" would be the right thing, nor effective. Because the "feminist movement" actually has had people come out and say "that's now what we're about" but they're the ones who are overlooked. I know Emma Watson did it big recently and ppl dont even talk about that. I know Laci green did it after she came out as a feminist. I remember the hated Anita Sarkeesian saying it. I remember Lawrence talking about it. I remember clearly all of these big names that are a prt of the "feminist movement" that have had no effect on people (such as yourself) saying that the true picture of feminism is the crazies. And even day to day, my very firm feminist friends will demonstrate what feminism is about.
That being said, again: saying "those people don't represent feminism" or "this is what feminism really is" doesn't work apparently. And painting those others as crazy isn't the way to validate feminism anyway, (my opinion). And then trying to completely disassociate from the crazies is very deflective in my eyes. It's trying to find another enemy for the antifeminists to target and not fixing the core issue for antifeminists as well as anti-male female supremacists.
He means feminism(equality), not feminazis.
This Social Justice Warrior is the PM of our country :(
I feel sorry for you.
