  • Today we install a Blais clutch weight on our TX300. This bike is already awesome without one but it gets even better with a mod like this.

    Clutch weight vs. Flywheel weight is the elephant in the room.

    • @michail1963
      @michail1963 Před rokem +8

      😂 exactly. Clutch weight is a total BS. Flywheel weight is what is needed to store energy in the engine rpms. Clutch weight has about the same effect as putting on a heavy tube into the rear wheel.

      You realize they're both always turning right?

      @@heathcarr1105 clutch turns at a fraction rate of the flywheel. Takes much more weight to get the same inertia, or something like that...

      Flywheel turns 3 times for every turn of the clutch. I saw somebody did the math on it and a clutch weight of 7 oz is equivalent to 1 and a half oz on the flywheel.

    They make a lighter 12oz clutch weight if you have the stock non Rekluse clutch cover if you don't want to purchase a cover. The 16oz weight requires a larger a larger cover for clearance, I have tried both on my 300 and have stuck with the 16oz for single track, very tractable.

    I know what you mean when talking about using your hands on bolts I’ve cross threaded a screw once and it’s cause I use a drill lol I don’t do that no more lmao

    Jay, what is the difference between this and a flywheel weight? I have a 23 TX 300 that flames out a lot. Dont know which mod to do, thanks!

    I’m assuming this is regular clutch only? No auto clutch?

    Also curious if you need a larger clutch cover. Purchased this weight for my Gasgas ex350f and noticed that the oil is now to the top of the site glass so I’m thinking even with the 7oz it will. What do you think Jay? It makes a noticeable difference and definitely makes it lug a little better.

    It's a shame that they don't include flange head replacement bolts like the ones removed.

    More power sounds good,i just dont want more weight because that slows all engines down.

    Maybe plan out a goal for your vid to help show an end result, instead of just trying to make your vid quota...
