WHAT ARE OXFORDS?
Essentially oxford shoes are formal shoes with closed lacing. What this means is that the two sides of the upper that are drawn together by the laces are sewn under the front part of the shoes, and that they thus close over a tongue consisting of a piece of leather sewn on beneath the lacing
Black Oxfords are pretty much the most formal pair of shoes a man can own, besides opera pumps. Also, as a general rule of thumb, the less decoration a shoe has, the more formal it is.
SHOE STYLE
First impressions are everything and at first glance I thought the shoe looked gorgeous. The silhouette has a perfect amount of "roundness," making for a classic and timeless design. The shoe's round toe is much more aesthetically pleasing than a pointed or squared shape in my opinion.
If you take a look at the graphic comparing the oxford and derby shoe above, it looks like Beckett Simonon uses a similar last as Allen Edmonds for the Dean Oxford because it looks almost identical to Allen Edmond's derbies and oxfords.
Not only is the style on point, I also like that the leather has very little shine. I'm not a fan of shiny leather because it feels way too dressy like it should be worn with a tux; take opera pumps for example.
The Dean Oxford looks great, but how well is the shoe made?
SHOE CONSTRUCTION & QUALITY
I haven't had the chance to field test the Dean Oxford because I haven't yet had an appropriate occasion to wear them, but I did rock them extensively around the house and they're super comfortable.
The leather upper is made of calfskin leather that feels high-quality. The shoes are Blake constructed which allows for a cobbler to resole them when the leather soles wear out over time. There are leather soles for an elegant finish and a durable rubber heel and toe that helps to prevent slippage.
If the Dean Oxford is anything like my first pair of Beckett Simonon shoes I purchased earlier this year, then they're sure to hold up nicely.

SHOE PRICE
Retail value of the Dean Oxford is $300. But of course you won't have to pay that price. Currently, $199 is the price you'll pay for all of their shoes, $149 is the price for their stylish, trendy sneakers, and $219 is the price for their boots. Not bad at all considering the great style, construction and quality of the shoes.
THE FINAL VERDICT
As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait, and although many will not be willing to wait 3 months for their footwear, those who do can reap the benefits of highly affordable, quality hand-crafted shoes and leather goods.
Let's hope the shoes can last for years to come.

Yeah, I can't believe how long it's been. I don't think they are weird. Are you saying the cap toe looks awkward? It's quite similar to AE park avenues. I think it's a classic silhouette.

Yes you definitely are tops, you and OG and Couple others i turn to. The toe box yes seems to be raised or roll upward. You and OG have gotten me to try several BS shoes
that's completely normal for the toe box and front of the shoe's sole to be elevated off the ground like that when standing normally.
How do you feel about tucking your laces? I always tuck my laces on my oxfords for that streamline look. I feel that not tucking them in and allowing them to flop around just looks sloppy defeating the purpose of the oxford.
I'll tuck in laces occasionally when they're just too long like many of my boots for example I'll usually tuck 'em in. I think you can't go wrong either way tucking in or leaving your oxford laces untucked, so long as the laces aren't sloppily long.
You said 6 to 8 weeks... Negative, I attempted to do business with this company, it's more like 3 to 4 months of wait time. That's outrageous.
You're right, I misspoke. It's 3 months for each shoe/boot campaign. It's not for everyone, but for those in no particular hurry, it's a great option.

Khoi on your pair of DEAN BS you have the bit piece of rubber traction at the toes but that area of the toes never seems to touch the ground anyway because it goes up it’s a raised part of the sole there’s a space between the toe end and the ground.
It'll touch the ground when you're walking!

why does it look like every Beckett Simonon shoes crease a lot?
I wouldn't say they crease a lot, but they do crease which is pretty normal for calf leather.
Gentleman Within I’m not sure about that statement. I have a pair of calf skin leather chukka boots that barely crease. I do use shoe trees but before I purchased the shoes trees I wore my boots maybe 5-6 times and they were still in good shape. I just don’t think BS’s leathers are that good for a quality.
