Please help,this shoe or the Durant oxford still from the same brand,as the 1 dress shoe for all occasions? always do you think Bordeaux color will be more versatile than this color?
Good question! Honestly I think they are both great and it probably comes down to your personal taste and overall style. The Deans are more minimalist and will work with anything, but a little broguing flair from the Durant is fun without being too stuffy. I really don’t think you can go wrong with either (not super helpful when it comes to your question, but really pick the one that you’re drawn to the most!). In terms of color - again it’s a bit up to preference, but generally speaking the darker the color, the more formal they are. So depends on what you’re wearing them for - the Brown might be slightly more versatile, but as with the style, pick the one you’re drawn to and are excited to wear, and you’ll get more use out of them! @@StuffAdamLikes yeah it helps thanks about the shoes,the color is now more confusing,do you mean the Bordeaux color is more formal and I thought brown is more darker making it more formal so you see where I get my confusion?
Sorry, you are correct, the brown is more formal (and a bit more conservative). So it depends a bit on the setting and where you plan to wear them. If primarily more formal settings, you may want to go brown, but if it’s more of a mix, I personally think the Bordeaux might be a little more interesting. As an aside - you’ll also need a pair of black dress shoes at some point, and as those would be most formal, it might give you more freedom to choose Bordeaux, if that makes sense?

@@MayTheSchwartzBeWithYou I am assuming your comment is about quality of the shoe. The best way to evaluate the quality is if you have it and you can compare the shoes. Your question on your first comment is very vague. But to answer your question , I don't think the quality of the shoe to be worth the manufacture's asking price. Especially if you own similar priced shoes and you can definitely see the lower quality of the Beckett Simonon shoes.
@@pedrocols Thanks. I recently bought it second-hand off eBay in new condition for $131 including shipping and tax. Do you think it's worth that? I rarely wear dress shoes, so this will be my one brown oxford for special occasions.
Too bad the leather is not high quality at all. That, or you are not using shoe tries. That is a crime.
agreed, shoe trees are a MUST when purchasing shoes. All of my shoes currently have a shoe tree in them.
