Very simple explanation. Originally it appeared that i would get lucky and this button would screw down in from the top. But realizing quickly this is not how it's replaced, I wanted to see how it is. This is the best video out there on the start button replacement. 👍
I’m not sure if it’s my solenoid, starter motor or starter button, but my 841 Powermaster diesel wouldn’t start, and yet I was using it almost all day. How do you jump the starter button with a screwdriver?
@@nsh57 hey, thanks so much; appreciate your reply. I figured the relay was bad and it was only $13. but when I opened the box it was 6 volts and my old tractor has a 12 volt battery, but I read somewhere a 6 volt relay could work as it’s just opening and closing a circuit. Hooked it up and still won’t crank the starter but the relay clicks when I push starter button. Maybe I need a new starter; hoping it was the cheap stuff first as a starter $250. or more, lol. I’m 75 and retired and bought my first ever tractor for the 23 acres we recently bought. Bought a beautiful 841 ford diesel using old Peace US silver dollars. I’ve been using a scraper blade on my trails around the property and having fun doing it. Always been a city boy all my life: this is a huge change for me but I’m loving it. Thanks again for your help.
Thanks for sharing, especially about the key way. Working on my neighbors tractor. Got to find a button now.

Nicely done, sir. Very simar setup on my 640.
You didn't show the most important part. Were did you place the wire to connect it to power? Resister? Key starter? solenoid? battery?

The only terminal on the button just gets jumped to ground (-) to crank the starter.
