Thanks! Just purchased my T4c and I’m looking forward to having its versatility. I appreciate you reminding me about the NATO rail mounting option because I completely forgot that was an option. I’m working through the best options to mount. I shoot primarily in one location, but want a lot of flexibility for mounting (horizontal, vertical, high, low, etc), out of scene.
Appreciate the thorough review. You covered a lot of info I haven't seen on other reviews, and appreciate hearing your first hand working experience with them.
Great video Tyler! We have a bunch of these at the studio but I always enjoy hearing your take on things. Thanks for sharing my bro!
Nice dude! I bet that’s awesome having all those tubes on Sidus link control!
Thanks for this! I wondered if it would be possible to just use a barrel connector extension so you’d have the flexibility of putting the battery somewhere convenient. It wouldn’t work in all cases but could provide some other options of mounting. You could potentially even manage some sort of plate to mount into the ends and have the battery behind the light. But yeah, I get your point of it being less convenient.
Good info, buddy. Thank you.
The cable out the side is more of a deal breaker then the battery grip tbh, just got the MT Pro and I can’t wait for bigger versions
Dude! Been waiting to see this from you!
🙏🙏 hope it didn’t disappoint!
@@TylerEdwards I'm glad you pointed out the balance issues. I had just bought some Pavotubes and was a little jealous of the mounts on T4cs but with the batteries making the mounting of them weird I feel ok about the Pavos for now.
@@Extremehick it’s not necessarily weird since you have that nato rail built it which helps! Honestly, lately I’ve just been using a cardellini to mount anyways and those things are not going anywhere haha.
Awesome review. Loved how thorough you were. Could we get a link to that little tube light tripod? Thanks.
It is a base to a gimbal
Thanks for this!
Thanks for watching! Hope it was helpful!
Where did you buy the rail attachment?
First off how did you get these? I have been waiting since NAB for mine to ship. Second the non integrated battery is the best feature this light has. My other tubes become almost useless when the battery wears out, and then I get to buy more lights. They could have done it other ways, but I will take it. A back mounted battery option down the road maybe.
Haha just gotta be EARLY on the pre-order list. Definitely pros to having a battery grip! Thanks for watching 🙏
Tube lights!
I'm curious - does the battery grip need to be attached to the tube in order to pass through power, or could you plug in the cord and hide the battery itself somewhere in its vicinity? That would make them a lot more appealing to me. It's no integrated battery, but the alternatives like the Pavotube IIs have quite beefy end caps, which also doesn't make them particularly nice practicals either.
The battery doesn’t need to be mounted to pass power but you do need to have the battery plugged in with the barrel connection. If you can find a clever way of attaching it you can definitely do that. A better way would be to forego the battery altogether and just use the power cable plugged directly into the light. 👍
@@TylerEdwards agreed! That’s probably what’ll end up most of the time, especially on a longer shoot. Just good to know that it can serve as a practical with a battery gaff taped to the back 😜
Haha totally! Since the back is basically one big nato rail, I bet mounting the battery to the back would be relatively easy
Hey! Do the tube lights stand by themselves or do you need to get a stand?
They need a stand like this one: amzn.to/43RCCct
@@TylerEdwards Thank you for getting back to me man! I really appreciate it
What is a “nay-doh reel”?
