Upgrading Ubuntu Desktops to 24.04 LTS
You can easily upgrade over the network with the following procedure.
Run the update-manager application.
In Update Manager, click the Settings... button, and enter your password to start the Software Sources application.
Select the sub menu Updates from the Software Sources application.
Confirm the "Notify me of a new Ubuntu version:" option is set to "For any new version", and change it if otherwise.
Close the Software Sources application and return to Update Manager.
In Update Manager, click the Check button to check for new updates.
If there are any updates to install, use the Install Updates button to install them.

23.10 and 22.04 upgrade was stopped for a reason. There are bugs blocking it so it's much better to wait till it's resolved.
Ubuntu was always "Wait until patch point 1 release" distro. Upgrading on day 0 or in first couple of weeks is not a smart move to say the least.

guess i found it the hard way, I thought 24.04 was already released, even googled it and it said 24.04 was released in April, so i tried upgrading from 22.04 to 24.04, im on 23.10 atm following a documentation. Now i'm getting an error that's blocking me from going forward, I have no idea what to do, can't do a clean install because I have alot of stuff on my pc. My wifi is acting weird, i can connect to my wifi but it shows the "?" thing on the wifi icon, I'm frustrated rn and idk what to do 😔🥲

sudo reboot
install the update manager core if it’s not already installed:
sudo apt install update-manager-core
Then restart the upgrade process by running :
sudo do-release-upgrade
