- Here is the build video and the plans for my 4Shot Tumbler Turner.
TURN ON CC WHEN WATCHING as I have added notes.
The parts picture at the end is incorrect. the center part is WRONG and should be a 3/4 female thread slip adapter. You will 4 of them.
Please check out my channel for other turner builds and how to's.
I built this for myself. Still working, about 10 months later. Thank you!! I recommend this video to everyone.
What size hole did u put in the left upright. I put a 5/16 one...but want to be sure I did the right thing?
Made it tonight for my wife. She loves way more than wooden tumbler bases I built with cheap Chinese motor. Didn’t use exact measurements kinda just did on the fly and eyeballed but fits perfect. Whom ever said to use heat gun when pushing spit through, yes!!! Takes just a sec and slides perfect then when it cools you actually get a better fit around it
My husband just built this for me and we attached a single Turner to the front over the rod on the end. It works perfectly! Thank you for your video!
Great. Glad it works well for you.
How did you add the single turner one on the end?
Just made mine today, thanks for the inspiration. I needed a few tweaks, but this was a great tutorial. I made the base a bit shorter to be able to have more of the end of the rod sticking out. Then I was able to make and attachment for a "single" turner. Worked out great.
I was thinking the same thing, Awesome
Where did you get your motor
How did you make the single turner?
@@deasamerritt6002 I've been watching videos and a lot of folks say Lowes. You could probably pick them up at Home Depot too or Amazon!
An easy way to get the rod through the cross is to drill a little hole and then heat it and shove the rod through! But when the cross is cooling do not wiggle it or set it down. It worked perfect for me!
It is never a good idea to heat PVC. It releases toxins in the air and that is never good. I hope you are wearing a respirator when doing it.
Finally a video that gets straight to the point!
Thank you! Made it! One thing I did add was to use the heat gun on the cross for the metal bar, after I drilled the hole. It made it easy for the bar to go through and then when it cooled, it locked in the bar. 👍
Awesome, Glad that worked out. Some have found that a little heat does make it easier to push the rod through.
I used the heat gun on the cross, too. I feel like it made it even sturdier because it cooled to the exact shape of the rod. Great minds think alike!
Made this today for my wife's friend. Made it in about an hour. Your video is spot on and fantastic.
Excellent! So glad it worked out so well.
Thanks for the video, I built one today. The only thing that I changed was the process for mounting the cross on the rotisserie. After drilling the center hole in the cross, I heated the rotisserie rod and was able to slide the cross in place without the need of hammer or wood block.
Very nice video. My wife wanted on of these and I watched several video's with her. This was the best production of any of the "how to" videos. I commend your efforts. I know making a "good" video takes much more time than just slapping something together like many of them I had to suffer while watching. Good Job!
I now feel ready to build our own.
So glad it helped Paul. There are many videos out there and many different materials used. I have an affinity for PVC and its versatility. Easy to work with and easy to find. Appreciate the kind words.
Thank you I’ve looked at several videos before heading to Home Depot and you are the way to go. Thank you will make tonight, maybe I’ll post a video showing how easy it is to follow your directions. (If it ends up being easy for me) thanks again.
Eric, thank you so much! We just built one tonight and it's working amazingly!
Great, glad it worked out. Happy to help.
Made this today..March 30, 2019 and it works perfectly 🔥
Great what measurements did you use. please
Michelle Darby ...the measurements he post on the end of the video
Thanks so much. I just made my first 4 shot Tumbler Thanks to this video. I just wish the sizes were in inches and not cm. I had to convert everything 😍
I did too :( I'm going to look so goofy for asking for the measurements the way they were converted!
Most excellent tutorial. Thanks for sharing your creativity.
Finally a video with parts list included gonna make this today . Thank you 😊
Thanks for sharing the helpful video. I'm trying to build this this weekend...
I just found this on fb marketplace for $200 ... almost bought it when i realized wait its PVC... so i found your tutorial which is great.. my only question is .. what are the measurements of the pvc?
Thanks for the video. I made mine today...only a couple of boohahs but accomplished it!!!
I will be making one this weekend, thank you for the video
Thank you. I can't wait to build this.
Thank you so much! We just successfully completed ours! :)
Well my hubby just made me one and it works just great it's not perfect but I like it thank you for the video
If my rotisserie rod is too long, how would I cut it?
Wow,I want to make one
any chance you're willing to sell everything already cut and then I just assemble ?
I don't sorry.
If you place cups using all four spinners does the epoxy from the top cup drip onto the lower cup Thanks or are they spaced slightly apart.
Awesome! Couple of questions...do I need to weight the posts if I don't have a tumbler for each one to spin to keep it balanced? Also does each cup spin on its own? This is so cool-I can even handle PVC construction! Appreciate the tutorial and the time you spent putting this together.
How would one add a single cup turner to the end of this rod? I have extra rod at the end.
You could probably use a slip cap and drill a whole and bang it onto the end(like you did the cross piece) then put a small piece of pipe with a female threaded part, then your cup holder piece would just screw onto it
What motor do you use to rotate the device
Can someone give me the measurements of everything
What size is the hole in the left upright pole , mine will not turn with hole 5/16...it fits snug?
Could you put a 5th on the end of the rod? Also, how strong is this? Could you do another four with the main Xs back to back? (so 8 total??) Thanks!
no one ever answered your question.. were you able to do this? I been checking back to see if someone would answer
We turned it into 8 and it’s AWESOME! I’m going to have my hubby post a video! He’s the best!
@@melodyrob is the video posted yet?
melodyrob I’d also be interested in your video. Thanks!
Hi, I highly appreciate your valuable how-to video.
I'm trying to buy pipes and build that, could you please help me for better understanding?
what's the difference between 90-degree elbow and street elbow? AND what do you mean by Center hub (all 3/4)?
Can you explain what was wrong that should be 3/4 female thread slip adapter?
Great video thank you. Not having much luck with the motor mind sharing what you used or where you got it
The statement that is posted if you click the down arrow “the center part is wrong, it should be a 3/4 female thread slip adapter.” Has this been corrected on the parts list? Is this referring to the adapters on the first page?
built mine too only problem is when one cup is on it the turner drops to quick. be better if rod was round😩
You did an amazing job!
I love your videos. They are so helpful!
What motor was being used?
I’m actually having trouble with how to put my motor on. Can you help me? Plezz
Can you please share which rotisserie kit you purchased for this? Just wanna make sure I get the right one. Thank you!
Made it exactly like it said. And it jumps making the epoxy move to one side and creating a big bump... any ideas how to fix that?
What is the small metal piece called that goes into the rotisserie? Was that supposed to come with the rotisserie motor? I’m so confused. My daughter and her bf were supposed to make one for me for Mother’s Day but didn’t have all the right pieces.
I need to know where each length of pipe goes on the turner. I am confused on some of them. If you can enlighten me I would greatly appreciate it.
Pamela Wooten did you get an answer on the length of the pipes and where they go ? Thank you
If you look at the supply list, he has the lengths broken down.
He has the supply list at the end of the video.
That would have been easier too but we had to figure it out on our own
Where can I find the motor?
Heat the end of the rod with a torch when placing through the pvc.
you can, but don't have to. A lot of folks don't have the capability to heat the rod. It can so get too hot and open the hole too big.
Love it
Great I like it
Can you send me a link to the motor?
WOW!!! GENIUS!!!!
Thanks!
question my cross that goes on the metal rod went in crooked and is to tight to take out how can I get it to go straight or will affect the curing process? tia
So what is it that I actually need.. now i feel confused since it says its wrong.
Court Danforth did you ever find out
Tired of waiting on my hubby to convert my 5 singles. IM DOING THIS! RAWR lol
Go for it girl!! I epoxy on a single and then transfer to the quad.
I am considering making one of these but have a question about how it works with leveling epoxy as it doesn’t appear that the individual cups turn. I just see the 4 cup holder turn. ( hope that makes sense)
It then motion that levels your epoxy, not the spin
My husband asked me the same question when I asked him to make something like this...?
What size is the cross? I picked up everything 3/4 and my pipe doesn’t fit in my cross 😐
Does this really work since the actual cups are not spinning individually like on a single spinner? I want to make one but I am afraid that the epoxy will not level out and just puddle. Thank You
Yes it works great. The key is getting the rod into the 5/16 hole. The hole can't be any bigger.
ok Thank You
I am making a parts list for Lowes do you have the sizes in inches instead of centimeters on the supplies and pvc pipe and any extra's I may need. Thanks again
Eric Payne where's the parts list
It's at 10:20 on the video
how long do u cut each your pvc??
Doesn't it just drip onto the other cups
i dont see any lengths to cut the pvc
Hi Eric, I made the 4 cup tumbler and then saw where you put the cup on the single tumbler in order to avoid epoxy dripping form one cup to another. Now I am in the process of making the single cup tumbler. How long do you need to leave cup on single turner before transferring to 4 cup tumbler? Thanks!
You can really transfer it right away if its not dripping. There shouldn't be any dripping anyway once it's settled. Just give it a few mins and use your best judgement.
Hello, thanks for the video.
I'm trying to make one, but I can't find that black mount for motor, where do you get it? I found amazon only motor, not mount.
Comes with the charbroil rotisserie kit
But I thought the tumblers have to turn to a 360 individual because the epoxy is self leveling I don’t know if I’m making sense
They do. Works fine.
Not fall I mean slide it’s fully assembled but at some point of the turn it slides
What is the weight limit on this machine?
Hi love the cup turner! can I ask a question does it support 4 cups well without any issues? thanks for the help!
Thanks! Yes it does. It was made for 4 cups. Its important that the turner is always balanced so it should be run with 4 cups even if you have to use blanks when only doing one cup. I always have some I need to strip so I use those.
Do you epoxy by hand and then stick them on there as you go? I love the idea of this particularly since my space is limited. Trying to think in my mind how the work flow would go. Sine each cup holder is threaded and removable I wonder if I had something else to screw them into to manually turn while I epoxy? How do you go about it with this turner?
Hi Grace, I use my single turner (video on my Channel) to apply epoxy and then move the cup to the quad.
What size are the cuts for the PVC?
The supply list and measurements is at the end of the video.
I am having problems with the turner jumping when it comes back around. I have tried everything and have made sure it is level, which it is. Can you please give me any suggestions to help with the jumping?
Jumping can be caused my several things but usually its a poor fit between the rotisserie rod and the PCV cross. This connection should be tight with no gaps. I have a troubleshooting video on my channel as well. Balance is important too, all stations should be loaded when turning.
what size bit do you use for the uprights and the cross in the hub?
AmyKCreates He said he drilled a 5/16 hole.
Eric what size Char Broil Rotisserie is used making this ... there is 2 different sizes you can purchase 26.7” and 30”?? Thank You
Either one will work. Just buy the cheapest.
whats the name of that motor?
Char- Broil Universal - On Amazon
Just a question why are you using cm for measurements instead of inches? Also how did you come up with the measurements in the 1st place .
Personally I like the metric system better than the imperial system so just personal preference. As for coming up with the measurements, just throwing stuff together along with some trial and error.
Do you have the link for the motor?
Is this available for purchase? Thx.
Where do I get that metal stick from? included in the motor? or buy Seperately?
its included in the rotisserie kit.
@@ericpayne3253 THanks!
Can’t find a supply list I have all materials and idk what to do now
at :18 on the video it says that the descriptions and measurements are at the end of the video. Did you watch the video?
How in the world do you get the cross on the rotisserie rod cause I've been pounding for about 45 minutes and I'm getting nowhere.
Drill a 5/16 hole and try again.
thank you ... great job
Is there a place where you listed the size to cut the pvc pieces? Do you sell the pieces already cut? Great video.
Its all in the video.
Eric Payn
Can you tell me why mine seems to kind of just fall when it’s almost done with the whole turn? It’s like it has no grip to hold the turn
Hi Chely, Sounds like the hole in the center cross is too big. It has to be a snug fit.
Can you do a shopping list please
Where did you get all the parts for the rotor and the rod
the motor and rod come in a kit. I used a charbroil kit found at most box stores.
I don't understand how you get it to spin. The weight of all the pvc with my cups just weighs it down and the rod spins inside the cross. I glued it with pvc glue and that didn't work so I made a new one with a smaller hole and it's still not working
Hi Amber, if the rod is spinning inside the cross you have drilled the hole to large. The idea is to drill a smaller hole and then drive the rod through it. Square peg into a round hole. Please check out my troubleshooting video.
Eric Payne mine is not square, it is round. I have tried 3 times. The last time I banged the rod through and it broke the Pvc. For the moment I have screwed the rod pieces together with the hole in the Pvc in between if that makes sense and it's working for now lol
could someone direct me to the measurements please, I have been searching but unable to locate. thanks for your help
Mel Bee it’s at the end of the video
love this idea, but how do you epoxy cups on this?
I use a single turner and then transfer to the big rig. I have single turner plans on my channel as well. They all work together. In fact, unless you are making a ton of cups at one time you may just want to start with a single. Build a 4 Shot when you need the extra space for curing multiple cups.
@@ericpayne3253 I see so your saying epoxy on a single tuner and wait for the epoxy to set? Than move to the big one?
@@Babyddleon I epoxy on the single and move to the big one an hour or so later. You dont have to wait, but I dont usually have them going back to back. You can also place a 15 dollar halogen work light (Home depot) in about 10 inches from the single turner while it spins. This speeds up the cure time significantly. Your cup will be ready to pull in an hour and a half. It will still need to cure further but it can be handled.
i'm on instagram @tumbler_turners.
@@ericpayne3253 oh great Info! I will definitely follow you. I did not know about the home depot light.
@@Babyddleon yep its a handy tool. Make sure you pull your tape sooner when using the light or it will be stuck. As me how I know.
Hi do you sell these?
How do you prevent epoxy from dripping on the other cups as it turns?
The idea is to apply the epoxy on a single turner (I have a build for that too) and then transfer it to the quad. The quad was designed for those crafters dealing with higher volume in order to keep their single turner clear.
Eric Payne thank you
Eric, if doing this on a single then putting on a four it kind of defeats the purpose... right? I know that you can cure 4 at a time, but it wasn't mentioned in your video for the quad.... Your video was great.. however, you never mentioned watching the video for the individual one and then building the quad...
Can you convert the measurements into inches? I assume you are in another country that uses the metric system.
No, i'm in the US. Google can translate for you.
sorry im not math minded so how big is 3/4inch into mm? we deal in mm
Google that question.
Where is the supply list please?
Watch the whole video? :17
“Where’s the supply list?” “What lengths?” Those who have asked those questions, did you even watch the entire video?? He laid it all out for everyone at the end of the video so hundreds of those questions wouldn’t be asked.
Big thumbs up there Kayla. You can lead a horse to water.. even dunk their heads and they still wont drink.
Do you sell the cut pieces?
Thank you
My rod keeps coming out of the motor after awhile of the cups rotating. Any suggestions on how to stop this?
Check my other video regarding common issues.
Did you figure out how to fix this, mine is doing the same thing. Thanks.
Check my other video regarding common issues.
Is there a particular reason you made the turner with the cups facing the motor instead the 4 piece being closer to the motor and facing out?
I'm wanting to use your tutorial but I want to do 5 with the 5th one being solo on the end and wondering if I can just flip this and it still work?
I only have a single turner right now and want to convert mine.
Thank you!
Don't see why that wouldn't work.
How would you make the 5th cup on the end? Applying the cap like you did on the single cup turner and attaching a single on the end facing outwards?
That is what I am going to do for my wife tomm. I will let you know how it turns out.
hi, my turner is going super slow. any chance you may know why
It is suppose to go super slow.
Thank u
hello, where do you get the motor and rod from please
I just bought one at Lowe's it all comes on the kit
Why do the tumblers need turning?
ablestmage so that when you seal it with epoxy, the epoxy doesnt run towards the bottom of the cup
