    Another not exspensive upgrade is a bigger sprocket & a non o’ ring chain. I went with an alum 54 tooth sprocket. ( it’s also 1 lb lighter than stock) non o ring way less drag . It all helps . I didn’t get those tires because of the heavier weight & I ride sand & dirt . Those still have to be better than stock . I really thought about those . There nice tires for dual purpose conditions .

      try shinko 241s!! theyre way lighter! still full knobs. my friend has hella light weight Shinko 241s on his surron!! theyre sick af we go riding together off-road all the time. You should keep the o-ring chain tho unless you trust yourself to clean VERY frequently. if youre going off-road id suggest an o-ring chain due to decreased mainainance intervals. although this is coming from a motorcyclist with a drz400sm (with shinko 244s- how i got here xD) you really want a wheelie do everything go anywhere machine thats faster than a surron? get a drz400sm. theyre better for the environment than battery powered EVs too :) i still take the sidewalk and bike trails when i want to haha. wish my friend with the surron would street legal his dirt bike so i dont have to go so slow when we ride lol

    Great content, just subscribed. I bought the Shinko 244 but haven't put them on yet. My surron's new and the stock tires, obviously new as well. I usually ride on street only, but watching so many youtubers riding on dirt, I'll proably will do also. I'm in Arizona. Btw, what size brake pad are those??

They are an amazing upgrade from stock, but the same size and shape as stock (other than some cooling fins that stick out on the top). They are on sale right now for 51% off on Amazon, normally $60 but only $29 right now. I'm going to pick up an extra set for myself...here's the link.....amzn.to/3YS7UgF

    Hi I like to new tires and brakes upgrade. After watching a lot of Surron videos yours are great please add a little end of video comments as to miles and power left when you ended you said 18% was that used or what was left? I am a older person what is wanting to get one but that gray cloud about street and bike trails is making me think-it may be a waste of money if I can only use it off road when I really want to rid it everyday to work you are one of a few riders that is not reckless I have watches lots of them not respectful of people and cars on the road and bike trails thanks. JoP

    • @leetjohnson
      @leetjohnson  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you for the feedback! I meant to say 18% left, sorry about that. I would say regarding the grey zone and how people feel about them on trails....as long as you slow way down around people and ride carefully, following traffic laws, you shouldn't have any issues. The fact that you care shows that it probably won't be a problem for you. Have a great day!

    Tires look sick!! Does it feel like the bike is any slower cause of the added weight (Less torque/top speed)?

    • @leetjohnson
      @leetjohnson  Před 2 lety

      Thanks! Yes, I definitely noticed a slower acceleration (torque) and took longer to get to the top speed, but probably only lost 1 or 2 mph from the top end, mostly noticeable uphill....downhill, still hits the same top speed.

      Not sure how much heavier necessarily, but bigger nobbies and more traction for offroad. The 241 will probably have better onroad traction and ride quality compared to the 244s.

    • @leetjohnson
      @leetjohnson  Před 2 lety

      I've noticed some range loss for sure, but not anything major...maybe 1 mile less per charge. Do you ride high speed or mostly offroad? I notice it more on the road riding at high speed. I'm putting a 58t sprocket to compensate.

    Close only counts in horseshoes & hangernades . I agree the stock tires & brake pads are garbage. At first I thought people were just being winers . I put less than 100 miles on stock pads & tires . They were like new tread but they don’t grip & I actually crashes because of both of them . Now it’s 100% better . People spend the $160 .00 right away .
