The ride looks so good. This is the first footage of it I've ever seen, including its old version. It's just a pity it is such a soaker. As you said, that's grand in Florida maybe. 😅😅😅

I cut down quite a lot of the on-ride footage because it was dark in there. Have a great visit 😊
Looks great again!! Seeing all the videos over the past few weeks it feel like the tech rehearsals were more for the new ride systems put in rather than test the theming/effects. Only issue I’ve seen is that it still seems to be bags on ride which is bizarre considering how wet you get.
Tech rehearsals were apparently to help the system adjust from empty boats to full.
Amazing vlog, honest as always. I know it’s all about opinions but I’d disagree with Mike about wanting the speaking to be reduced. I’ve been on many a water ride and been left to feel totally underwhelmed with no wetness! Everyone knows what they’re getting into and if we have more summer scorchers like we have in the past ten years people will relish riding it.
Wow it looks incredible now that it is officially open i had mixed thoughts on it during the technical rehearsals but now i need to ride it again on the 1st June to experience it again to see all the effects that weren't working during the technical rehearsals

Finally back to The Pleasure beach on the 18th May. I have held off going back because of Valhalla being closed. I remember the feeling the first time I rode Valhalla. I couldn’t believe how good that ride was. So just hoping that feeling returns with the reimagining. I will miss the old soundtrack though.

If you’re like me, you’ll ride it and come off singing the old theme tune for two days afterwards.

Having lived in the north west all my life it still seems a very odd ride to be there as it’s such a soaker. And as we all know it’s bloody grim in Lancashire. Not my type of ride to enjoy would prefer something else. It’s good to see it open again and no doubt it will be very popular with alot of people. Excellent coverage once again lads.

Great video, we are going to blackpool in a few weeks and I have found your videos so useful, especially the ones with Mike in! As a plus size lady myself I have found Mikes reassurance about fitting on rides really comforting! I don't suppose Mike would mind sharing his size/height/measurements at all so I can use them to compare please? It might settle my nerves a little. I am mostly looking at going on the rides with the pull down lapbar but carry my weight in my hips and tummy so a bit skeptical! xx

Hi, I’m 5ft10 165kg, 44 waist 58 chest.
Anything with a lap bar you should be fine but be aware that Grand National, Big Dipper and Nickelodeon Streak seats can be a bit snug if you’re my size due to the seat dividers.
Big One’s seatbelts can be a little bit tight on me.
Other than that, I struggle with Icon and haven’t attempted Ice Blast or Infusion for a while. Revolution is extremely generous, make sure that you fully extend the seatbelt and check it’s not twisted or wrapped around the restraint

Oh, and why bring extra clothes when all you need is time in the sun-shiiiine? 😂

Thanks for that, looks great now and well done too for not wearing the poncy plastic poncho's like most people do!! Why go on a WET RIDE if you're scared about getting wet!!!
It's kinda like getting "the full experience" not using a poncho. Daft but it was worth it for the fun of it all.

Great video as always. Without sounding too cynical, are we not getting a little ahead with the praise? BPB were always going to put on a great show for a media day, from a PR point of view, this and the other vlogs are pure gold for BPB. However, will they still be paying for all the effects to stay on in a few months time, will they be fixing broken parts? I hope so, but have my doubts.
Thanks Ben, Valhalla is so temperamental so it's good that most things were working but we had two different rides on it, on Wednesday.
I think the answer is running it for shorter periods of time so it's more cost effective.
How does it compare to the original with all its effects working? Is it more immersive now?
Original is so far gone it’s difficult to say. It was a shadow of itself in the late 2010s.

Having just been on it they need to sort out the audio issues as the soundtrack and voiceover is too faint.
I know they're historic rides and a lot of people wouldn't like it, but i really wish they would give the river caves and the ghost train an update as well. Keep the old ride systems but refresh the scenes and special effects to keep them both relevant. Mix the old with the new.
Unfortunately can’t reimagine several rides in one time period with BPB’s budgets
@Your Experience Guide Yeah, I know they don't have the big budget that some parks do but it would be good to see them given some TLC at some point in the future. More so the river caves than the ghost train.

Looks like they pulled it off in the end! Have always loved Valhalla and was seriously worried from tech rehearsals that this would be a huge failure and just an excuse to remove expensive effects (fire). I do really wish they'd offer a behind the scenes experience, I'd happily pay for that. I've always been absolutely fascinated by this ride and the systems that make it work.
We used to be able to do tours of it during our club events but not sure if it could be done again.

Sounds like it is MUCH better than the tech rehearsals but I guess that's what they were for, to get everything to near perfection for the official opening, which from this video I think they have pretty much done. As for it being an absolute soaker.... I think that's a positive for a water ride. There are many water rides where you hardly get a sprinkle but I suppose getting the balance of wetness is probably something they will have to tweak a bit. All in all, great review of a great ride.
It’s a significant improvement and people being honest in their reviews did have some benefits
I will never understand why they dont turn the wetness down! As you say its fine for 30 degrees weather but not from 0 - 16 degrees. Even if you got half as wet you would still be soaking.

I highly doubt there is a giant knob on the control panel labelled "wetness control" how wet you get depends on a range of factors.
they've slowed the boats down a lot cause theres now about 8+ boats, id like the slower version better tbh
They can't speed up or slow down the boats, they float along in water
@@yourexperienceguide oh? It was about 6pm and I just got on valhalla and they stopped the boats cause they were going too fast, I guess with a bit of elbow grease they could stop it, there's little parts with a conveyor belt

Good footage. If you guys were being honest you would say that Valhalla has taken a big step backwards. It’s not as good as the original ride. Basically £4 million spent making a ride worse than it was originally.
We were honest, just as we were after the tech rehearsals. I’ve nothing to gain by being dishonest about it.
As I said to Sean Evans when Ur MD open says "to all of you that have been moaning" that's not a good look and smacks of arrogance

I think she thought she was being funny, then again... maybe not. The whole 'it will definitely open, oh actually no it wont' throughout 2022 probably cause her a lot of hassle and lets be honest, this is the internet so chances are she was on the receiving end of some pretty nasty comments/messages.
They have absolutely butchered this ride. Where is the iconic theme song, backwards drop, smoke settings and everything else that made the ride what it is. Look at the POV from when it first opened to now. All they’ve done is ruin this ride to cut back on costs and expenses whilst making it shorter to improve queue times.
The management of this park needs to sort its head out because they’ve just ruined one of the best rides in the world.
The new soundtrack has replaced the old Hot Ice soundtrack it had.
Backwards drop rightfully replaced as the turntables caused problem after problem.
The rider cam in this video was cut down significantly to avoid too many spoilers.
£4m was spent on fixing ride hardware issues.
It's just mostly lights and getting soaked.
