    I started the install yesterday afternoon, I had plans to carefully label all the parts taken off. I started with pen, 3x5 cards and zip lock bags. It didn't take long for that to go out the window with parts strewn all over the garage floor. But i think i got the biggies right- center stand back on before new akra resonator and no stripped bolts etc. Thanks for the video, there is no way i could have done this without the tips.

    I had the Akrapovic race exhaust installed on my V4S and it sounds absolutely stellar. With the stock exhaust the bike sounded like a kitty cat. Now its its a roaring beast but still not too loud to ruin your riding enjoyment. When quick shifting it trows some fireballs out of it. I also saved $1k on it by ordering it directly from Italy.

      @@4KMotoring A premium bike like the MultiV4S does not deserve anything less then an Akrapovic or a Termignoni. It definitely completes the bike. @@4KMotoring So here's a funny question. I've been following this issue for awhile as I'm in a bit of a fix with my bike. Mine is a 23' Rally model V4. People are saying that the QD won't fit due to the Rally model having a slightly different rear swing arm. So this may affect all of the decat only options such as the Leo vince. This leaves me with the Akro full system or the Termi full system for decat. In all of the posts about decat, everyone says you have to remove at least one side (footpeg) to drop the cat out. In your vid, you mentioned that once everything is out, you should reinstall the center stand so as to get to the circlips and such before proceeding. AND, you're the only person to actually drop the front headers to drop the cat. One last observation: Just above (the comment you made that I'm posting to), you said you took the collector back off after the video to reinstall the circlips correctly. Most people say that dropping one of the foot pegs is necessary in order to have ample room to move the cat to drop it..... Sooooooooooo.... here's my actual question after all of that. Now that you've done that (and have had everything apart), would you say that if you remove the front headers and rear pipe entirely, you could maybe drop the cat out without removing the foot pegs and/or the center stand? Does that make sense? I mean, once you noticed your error, you even said in your vid to go ahead and reinstall the center stand (which includes reinstalling the pegs) after removal of the cat. This suggests there's plenty of space if all of the pipework is removed. I guess I'm having a difficult time believing that at Ducati Factory, they are required to install the full exhaust system BEFORE installing the pegs, piping for the rear brake, and items for the clutch assembly. Seems there has to be a way to drop the cat without taking that shit off. Thoughts? Thanks and freakin' great channel!
      PS: I've read through all of the comments, and yes, Termi has a semi-full system just like this. You keep and use the headers, but the decat with mid pipe and slip on are included as is the T800 upmap that easily snaps into the diagnostic plug under the seat. It all comes as a kit for far less than the Akro system. I just need to drop that stup cat!!!! HAHAHAHA

    • @4KMotoring
      @4KMotoring  Před 8 měsíci

      So a lot to unpack here for sure, as far as the rally models specifically, there is a different rear swing arm but also a different rear subframe. I don't believe that the rear swing arm has anything to do with the exhaust fitting at all, I think the only problem you may run into is the subframe having a slightly different mounting point for the muffler, otherwise nothing else mounts to the back of the bike and should be exactly the same.
      No as far as finding an easier way to do this swap... I really don't think there is compared to what I was able to do. If you're able to take the front headers and rear headers off you could probably drop the entire cat out without the foot pegs, the problem is access. On my bike, I don't have access to the rear headers without a lot more disassembling than just the peg. If you could perhaps get to the rear connection for the rear headers without removing anything that would be fine, but with the large factory cat in place I really don't think it's possible.

      @ScottStAubin-ke5mm Před 8 měsíci

      Thanks for the detailed response! There's a guy I'm chatting with over on a Rally page I follow that couldn't get the QD to fit at all. Poor guy was four hours into shop labor trying to make that thing fit. I'm still not sure if a full system is worth the money (especially the Akro where it's connected to your VIN - there's no taking it with you). But if someone doesn't start producing stuff for the Rally, I'm a bit stuck. Anyway, again, love the channel and use it for lots on my bike. Thanks for your content and keep it up!

      @dohicks Před 26 dny

      I’m about to do this on my’23 Rally with the Leo Vince mid pipe and Termi exhaust. I have seen posts on the Ducati forums that say you just need to loosen right foot peg enough to push it forward to allow rear cat connection to be dislodged and dropped. Maybe a few different ways to skin this cat.
      I’d usually do this myself but it’s probably just enough work that I might take it to an independent Duc shop locally.
      Once this is done I’m still unclear whether I need a new map/tune or not?
