    this is a SERVICE! Well done! it is pleasant to see someone takes care to your bike when you spend al lot of money. Not every time you find a Mechanics with passion like this and too often it is the fault of the workloads they are subjected to in order to contain costs. I hope that when my bike is serviced they do at least a third of what I saw...However, mechanics, know that I mark the oil filter to understand if you really change it!! :))

    I wish my services in North Carolina were this legitimate. You'd be LUCKY if they did anything more than the oil service for the annual service.

      Same in Alberta Canada where I live. They charge for everything but at best change the oil and maybe the filter then after the warranty is up they promptly produce $5K of repairs which are needed ASAP.

      @@bobcobb7719 Funny enough I just called in to have my annual service done and I specifically said I DO NOT want the oil change done, only the annual service. They said "The oil change is the annual service" then decided to get the maintenance manual to prove me wrong and realized the annual service isn't just the oil change.
      Can't wait to find a cheap 1250 GS and get as far from Ducati as I can...

      Yeah if he wasn't being recorded, he'd probably be just like your North Carolina dealership :-). I just picked up a 23 Multistrada last week. I guess I am at the mercy of the dealership with service. Fortunately it's the same dealership I bought 2 BMWs in the past so we'll see.

    I watched this having had a MS but now have a GS which has just had a service. The one thing that struck me about the mechanic was he never used a torque wrench!

    I’ve noticed over fifty years that the cost of ownership has begun to eclipse the cost of purchasing bikes. Not only have taxes, the cost of dealership fees and “optional” packages bumped up point of purchase costs, the hourly rate for scheduled maintenance and the price of parts has become, for many, prohibitive. In Canada, synthetic oil can be up to $26 a liter and I just got a quote for an OEM chain/sprocket kit for my Africa Twin that, taxes included, was over $650cdn. A major service for my VFR can easily exceed $1200 and what I paid for maintenance over 160 000 kilometers for my BMW RT was nuts. Yikes, I say . . . yikes!

    male ....deve sempre usare chiave dinamometrica tappo olio e tappo filtro olio......la catena non va ingrassata da sopra perche il grasso va via subito ,all interno si deve oliare un po gli oring di tenuta polvere.

  • @csaREEM

    He puts in a dry oil filter! Either an incompetent or lazy mechanic.
    RIP the engine at the first start with a dry oil filter. it will have lots of friction until the oil filter is soaked.
    There will be lots of metal.
    shavings in the oil. When you check at the next service.
    Don’t get your bike serviced here

    • @Ducatijay72
      @Ducatijay72 Před 9 měsíci +2

      Utter nonsense, firstly I'm pretty sure a trained ducati dealer knows more about the bike than someone off CZcams, secondly my rally in UK was serviced exactly the same, thirdly it's a external type filter, how on planet earth would you keep the oil in, incidentally I rode mine back 50 miles and it definitely didn't blow up 🤣

    • @ItsAllJustBollox
      @ItsAllJustBollox Před 9 měsíci

      I am more concerned about the lack of a torque wrench on the filter housing and sump plug.
      Yet he goes around the bolts on the bike checking the torque but not the ones he has worked on.
      Ducati has a chain free play measurement and provide the ower with a gauge for checking the freeplay yet he doesn't take a measurement.

    • @ducati_amsterdam
      @ducati_amsterdam  Před 9 měsíci +5

      Whenever possible we always fill the oil filter before mounting. On these models however, it is impossible to fill the oil filter cavity because it is an open filter that is mounted horizontally. This does no harm to the engine because the filter is filled and oil pressure is restored just seconds after starting the engine.

    • @ducati_amsterdam
      @ducati_amsterdam  Před 9 měsíci +2

      This clip was made to give people an impression of a yearly service, not everything is included because we didn't think anyone would like to watch a mechanic at work for over an hour and a half.

      @@ducati_amsterdamwhat's the reason why a torque wrench was not used on the sump bolt and filter cover and why wasn't the chain free play measured and checked against the Ducati specification ?
      I know an experienced mechanic is unlikely to do any damage using his judgement, but the service is paid by the customer and should be carried out as per the Ducati procedure and everything done by the book with no shortcuts.
