    There isn't a section of oak anywhere that could resist a 4 lb wedge and a 12 lb sledge. The real weakness is in the human wielding the tools.

    I feel your pain, it’s hell getting old. When I was younger I have used sledgehammers but I don’t think they were12 lbs.

    I really enjoy Survival On Purpose. I also enjoy ScoutCrafter on CZcams. Tool restoration and Americana common sense.

    I'm a R.N., and one time at the hospital I took care of a guy whose name was Charles Norris. Admitting diagnosis: right foot pain. No shit! Not the real Chuck, but hilarious none the less!

    Your comment about how people may react to the effects of a strenuous workout on a body not use to such a workout struck me as being funny because that's what I was thinking before you even said it. Of course you're going to breathe hard; who wouldn't. If I had tried that, it'd have been the same reaction to the activity. Someone half our age would have had the same reaction to the exercise. You swung it well.

    Can you really trust a slip-on handle like that?

    • @SurvivalOnPurpose
      @SurvivalOnPurpose  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I don't see why not. It's just like a tomahawk handle. It can't slip off the end because of the shape. All the inertia of your swing pushes it toward the end.

    Hammer is too big, more power in a 7 pound hammer

    • @SurvivalOnPurpose
      @SurvivalOnPurpose  Před 3 měsíci

      I'm gonna resist the Bevis and Butthead response and just say it think that really depends on how hard you can swing it. Because it's basic physics that the larger mass will have more "power" at the same speed. But it will definitely wear you out faster.
