That was very helpful, thank you! I even learned a couple new thing about Affinity I didn't know before like how to use the contour tool.

1:25 what do you mean by "straight corners". Doesn't "mitre" round the corner slightly (disclaimer: I not a user yet of affinity). EDIT// I'm looking at the outside of the corners (which are slightly rounded). 3:05 I now see what you mean, when you round the corners. A video like this is a great introduction to the names of the tools and how to use them. Thanks for the upload!

Hey Tom, I didn't describe the corners too well, did I?! I should have said 'right-angled corners'. You are completely right in your definition of 'mitre'. What I neglected to mention was that the mitre was set to '4' which resulted in a right-angled corner. Sorry for the confusion!

@@ArtifexForgeDesignTutorials thanks, iirc mitre cuts the corner :-)
Anyways, I'm an old freehand user who never graduated properly to illustrator (and don't do much anymore on the computer, but would like to get back to it). So this is a nice intro tutorial to using designer, and using styles (I have a couple of yours which look really good). All the best

What exactly does the "bake" feature do? I've never used it.

If you are using live corners or the contour tool, 'baking' turns these features into editable nodes. Does that make sense?

@@ArtifexForgeDesignTutorials Ah yes, that makes sense. Thanks!

Sorry to hear that. I'll try and bear that in mind for future tutorials. You could try re-watching and pausing frequently.

Do these things also work the same in the iOS version of affinity?

Hi flootzavut30daychallenge, Yes, it's almost identical on Mac. Please bear in mind that this tutorial was created in a slightly older version of Affinity but not much has changed. If you hit any snags, please let me know and I'll clarify.
