I have been thinking of buying this nice bundle. Thanks for showing it in action.
It's a pleasure Mark - I really appreciate the support!
Great tutorial, thank you.
Thanks Kerry!
Awesome!
Can we purchase just the brushes for the outline separate?
Hey there! Just bought this pack and following your tutorial. At 20:08, I've converted the pen tool lines and expanded the stroke. Once I grab the node tool, however, and try to delete everything in the lower right corner by selecting the nodes on either end, the entire line disappears all the way up to the other side (I only have a set of nodes on each end of the line). I have snapping turned on and have followed along, but I can't get the lines to sit within the shape. Any tips? Thank you! Update: I had to add some nodes manually. I didn't have anything between the extreme ends of the lines so it was all or nothing.
Thanks for picking up the pack Gino! I'm glad you managed to sort it out. If you need anything else, please get in touch via the email address on the help file.
Great tutorial! Will the brushes work well with text converted to curves?
Thanks Tim! This will depend on the font used. It'll work well with simpler fonts. I would recommend adding very slightly rounded corners to the expanded type and simplifying any complex shapes.
@@ArtifexForgeDesignTutorials Thanks for your timely response. I am exploring a design concept that involves images of fabric patches. This may be just what I need. I also like your stained glass!
One more thing, if I use white instead of color, would the textures still show when printed? For example, in a coloring book.
thank you so much , does this also have something like leather?
A stitched leather kit has been on my list for years. I even have the leather samples ready to go but haven't got around to making it yet, sorry. Keep an eye on artifexforge.com for updates or sign up to my newsletter here - tinyurl.com/25rxv3h2
@@ArtifexForgeDesignTutorials I'm looking for the leather stitching too. Hope you get around to creating it soon.
Hey @@michellepatrick8342 , You're in luck - this pack has a leather texture and stitching - tinyurl.com/38zwprbc . I am still planning a similar pack with more leather textures but I can't say when this will be released yet. If you have any further questions, please let me know.
I see that the file comes with some preset colors. Is it possible to use your own colors and these are just to get you started? Or are we locked into the colors you predefined?
Hey! You can adjust the colors easily using Affinity's 'Adjustments'. I've included instructions on this in the pack. If you have any other questions, please let me know.
@@jeremychild7730 thanks! I eventually bought it and played with it last night. Awesome Tool!
Is it possible to get an updated tutorial for affinity designer 2? I cant seem to get this to work for the new version
Hey, No time to create a new tutorial at the moment - sorry. Let me know what you're having issues with and I can try and help.
Is this tool supported on Affinity Designer iPads?
Hi, Yes, it works with Ipad verison of Affinity Designer. If you need any more info, please let me know.
How did you create the four quadrants?
Hi! Sorry, could you please elaborate on the question?
@@jeremychild7730 how did you divide the document into four sections. It is mentioned right after the base layer is added.
Can we do this in adobe illustrator
Sorry, I missed your comment! Yes, you can do this in Illustrator. Here's a link to the pack - artifexforge.com/product/the-patch-works-fabric-badge-maker-illustrator/
Please do a video on illustrator
I wish I had the time to do videos for all platforms - hopefully one day...
