  • In this video tutorial, I show you how to create seamless embroidery brushes in Affinity Designer.
    Using just strokes, I create a pattern of threads using the pen tool and added FX to be used as a Textured Intensity and Textured Image Brushes in Affinity Designer's Vector Persona. I reuse and refine the initial design and quickly make variations with different stitch patterns.
    I hope you enjoy this video!

    Amazing! As always! ... I've made a few brushes, almost identical to the ones here, but couldn't get them seamless. This tutorial made all of the difference!

      Because it is THAT easy... :) We just tend to overcomplicate things.

    Can you change the color later and it won’t affect the overall pattern ?

    • @2dgameartguru
      @2dgameartguru  Před 3 měsíci

      Yes, you can change the colour on the textured intensity brushes. The textured image brushes [with the shading and hightlights] come in yellow and you can change the HUE of the colour but need to add FX or adjustment layers for more elaborate colour changes

    Can you do a video or direct me to one on that nudge panel you brought up? I've been using AD for years and have never seen that panel

    • @2dgameartguru
      @2dgameartguru  Před rokem

      It's not a panel, it's just a setting in the preferences 'Tools'. You can set the Nudge Distance there [and the Modifier Nudge Distance - holding shift and using the cursor keys]. This distance sets the step an object is moved when you hit the cursor key... and sorry... it's a desktop option [I don't think it's available on iOS].

    Thank you so much for this video. Can I use this brush process to create the faux embroidery look for the Alphabet letters? Fonts?

      @@2dgameartguru Thank you so much! Is there a video on how to accomplish this?

    • @stacyphillips7300
      @stacyphillips7300 Před 11 měsíci

      I've tried the copy & paste method as you did in the video. It work for a rectangle ( like in the video) but would not work the same way for a font stroke.

      I recorded a mini video - editing at the moment... up soon :)

    • @2dgameartguru
      @2dgameartguru  Před 11 měsíci +1

      You might have to turn scaling on and adjust the stroke width - AD is a little funny about the scaling of text and letters at times.

    Can I used these brushes in photoshop? Can I export to photoshop?

    • @2dgameartguru
      @2dgameartguru  Před 9 měsíci +1

      No... Affinity Designer texture intensity and image brushes are unique to Serif's software suite. I will try and see if I can get the PNG images to work in PhotoPea - as I don't use any of Adobe's art and design tools anymore.
