- Learn to use the Stroke Width Tool in Affinity Designer. This handy tool is new in Affinity 2.5 and offers an in-document way to apply multiple line weights to Affinity strokes. This video includes a section explaining using the Stroke Width Tool with Vector Brushes and removing a width profile. Hi! This video help me so much!! I have a cuestion, maybe you can help me. I recently purchased all 3 Affinity apps. I've been testing them.
But I had a problem in Affinity Designer, the "Basic Brushes" option DISAPPEARED and I don't know how to get it to be in the options again. Do you know if that is possible? and tell me how? Thanks!!
I'm pleased you enjoyed the tutorial! I think I can answer your question - the 'basic' brushes are only available in 'Pixel Persona'. Switch persona to see them then select 'basic' from the dropdown menu on the 'brushes panel'.

Hey @blueskyjax ! Yes, it will work with vector brushes but you need to set the size variance slider in the relevant brushes settings. Skip to 05:37 in the video to learn about this and if you have any further questions, please let me know.

Hi Roger, No problem - I was considering sharing the version of the owl before I used the stroke tool on it, so people could have a try themselves. Is this what you'd like or, did you want the finished design?

This new tool is great. One can draw a vector sketch and then instead of redrawing the image simply adjust the lines! Great tutorial!!

how did you get the dialog box up for stroke width tool i can't get it to work
Hey Tracy. Do you mean the box for entering the stroke weight? Press⌘ (macOS) + Click or Ctrl (Windows) + Click. If it's not working then there may be a glitch.

The nice thing continually crashes when using the new tool...🙄
