They're made in Orange County, California. I've been to the factory. Great people, great knives. Only sad part is most of their knives aren't legal in California 😢. Not their fault.

Honestly, if this knife was hollow ground and they added a finger choil, it’d be perfect. For the finger choil, they just need to carve out the excess scale beneath the pivot by the sharpening choil.
Sinkevich designs are always very cool!
I use to dislike the aluminum Protech handles that Protech uses on a lot of their knives, but really no one does aluminum handles better than Protech. They also have been putting out some excellent designs over the last 3-4 years. Love what they’re doing.

Spydico sells it's MagnaCut for 20 to 50 dollars less then their other super steels like S110, Rex and Maxamet. Same price as their SPY27.

Btw, they don’t sell their MagnaCut cheaper. They just offer it on their salt series of knives. Which typically use cheaper handles.
I wasn’t planning on buying one of these based on the prototype but I’m liking this simplified version and the blade shape

Well, it's definitely not on the "low end" of the $300 - $400 range. BladeHQ had them available at their Utah grand opening last Saturday for $345.00. Exactly what you didn't want MC.
Shit man I'm in the insider ProTech group on FB, and I've never heard of this.
I got to see and handle the Oligarch at CCKS 2024 back in February. They had a premium Ti custom for the show at a cool $1k.
Too rich for my blood, but I want one! I'll take a regular one though! Lol
However, I couldn't pass up the TR-3 button lock prototypes they had. Only 3 left at the table and $570. They were hand-ground compound blades and mirror polish by Mike Irie. Sick knife!
It's my collector's piece though. In the Pelican case it goes! 😂
I just picked up a ProTech Strider in cruwear. They are the masters of OTS autos. That blade comes flying out of there like you said something bad about it's mother.
This design is so friggin clean. I’d love to see a blue or the new Pro-Tech green handle. I’d also like to see some DLC coating either satin or shiny
I haven’t held a Protech, but I have both a Hinderer XM-18 Auto and a Heretic Wraith Auto and the snap of the Hinderer is pretty impressive. Can’t wait to try this one.

This is a good looking knife. Protechs are gonna function well. So that mixed with the aesthetic makes for sick knife. I need it. 😂

This looks a lot like a Tactile knife co Chupacabra, which is $250 and made by a much smaller company.
I do love my ProTech knives and how hard they fire, but my hardest firing by far has to be my Hogue EX-A01 Automatic Drop Point Aluminum 4". Thing nearly jumps outa my hand every time. Have not yet gotten my hand on a Stitch tho... yet.
Ahh man, I was really hoping it was in the 8 to 8.5 inch range. Another small knife yea!
This one is cool, but it's no TR-3 manual button lock.
They gave a little preview of an engraved one with gold and it looks so good. It will be at blade show.

How do you know how much USA made is done between certain companies? You said 'vast majority' or Protech are made in USA. How much is that? What parts aren't USA made? Where are the other parts made? Can you provide some detail on this? I've heard you say stuff like this for years but you've never broke it down, as far as I've seen.
I dont know exactly which is something I also say. I'm very careful about that. I'm repeating what the companies say about themselves, and what's been echoed by the community. I believe protech has done factory tours for people in the past
Never disliked a Protech, but I've never bought one because of there pocket clips.(Either bad clip or like all there stuff not lefty friendly)

Anything “basic” over $200 is not worth it, even from ProTech or any other manufacturer. That also includes all blade steels, including MagnaCut! Any knife over $200 has to have several options in handle materials, colors and blade shapes!
Over priced for what you need it for!! Cutting things not worried about how it feels after you loose it or misplaced it and never find it again. Lol.
4/10 on the card slap, kinda sloppy imo.

Also, protechs Magnacut is 63-64. One of the few companies actually doing it right
