Put the rug that’s in the living room in your bedroom, and the rug in your bedroom in the living room. The color scheme in the bedroom rug is great with the benches in the living room, and that living room rug goes with your bedding - it will also carry the red accent through the apartment, including your bedroom. Love the kitchen paint color. So so good, Chelsea!!

The green kitchen paint reminded me of my bff's old park slope apartment back in the early 2000's. The green was nostalgic in that sense 😅

Also please don't ever feel bad about not putting your apartment together "fast enough". It's your apartment and it's of no use rushing through things and in the end being miserable! Take all the time you need to make it a home 🥰
I highly recommend placing a few small indoor plants in or around your kitchen - it will immediately make the space feel more inviting and will work well with your new coral kitchen! Its a cheap and easy way without having to buy anymore paint ;0)

OMG Putting your pants on inside out is genius..seriously I will be doing this in the future. I can't believe I didn't think of this myself. I have ruined so much clothing thinking I can manage to paint "just a tad bit and not spill ". Yah right. 😂
FWIW it might be good to take an entirely different approach with the backsplash. I’ve seen the peel and stick method fail before. If you still want tile, maybe just do tile. It will always look better than its plastic counterpart. To make it renter friendly, I would tile and grout over plywood. I.e. screw plywood to your existing walls and then tile properly over that. When you’re ready to move out, the normal wall is still underneath. Just an idea. P.s. I am a fan of your videos and spirit. Ciao!
The place is really coming along! I think the biggest mistake people make is throwing the apartment together as fast as possible. It’s really smart to take your time and make choices that will improve your overall happiness and mental health. Good luck on the job hunt.
The thing I really love about your videos is how genuine and real you are. For most of us out here we dont transform our spaces overnight, it happens as we have time, money and the energy to do it! Every step you take makes your apartment more your own, and its so obvious how much more.settled and comfortable you are in your home with every video you make.

Hi Chelsea, As an architect with experience in interior design, I can recommend that you find the color palette of the kitchen cabinets since they are not going to change, and it will definitely help you find the right shade of wall color. I know you already painted it, but it feels more pink than it should be. Of course, it depends on every person's taste. but it's definitely better than the previous one!! very nice choice.

At least you figured out the wrong color in a small space like a kitchen. We discovered a bad color when we went to paint the exterior of our two-story house. We picked what we thought was a pretty Cape Cod blue. It turned out to be a color of purple you would paint the inside of a three year old girl’s bedroom. 😂. Lighting makes all the difference. Luckily, we didn’t get far with the painting and managed to change it. Love the new color. ❤
okaaaay I have to admit I was kinda sad when you said you were getting rid of the green bc I kinda liked it, but now I'm loving this color sooooo much more. The kitchen feels so warm now and something about the color almost provokes my appetite?? And it totally transforms the floor into feeling more quaint :)
Never green in the kitchen. If you’re ill, you’re not going to feel better there.
How about a floor lamp that hangs over the table? IKEA has some. Or one of their globe hanging lights.

Okay, I've watched you forever and not commented, but today, I must speak up. When you left the painter's tape up last month, I was bothered. Then I was frustrated. Then I was angry. Then I was apoplectic. When you took it down, I was thrilled. I opened the champagne. I celebrated.
But, see, this is the lesson you continue to teach me (and I think others). After watching the video last night, I saw that you had to do much more work than you otherwise would have if you'd left the tape up. So often in these videos, you EXPLICITLY tell us that you are working on YOUR best schedule, doing things at YOUR best pace, creating YOUR best life. A life that isn't perfect--and that you flat-out refuse to pretend is.
You have so much to teach us--I'm going to try to absorb your lessons better in the future.
P.S. What headphones are those that you always wear when cleaning?
I think that the table nook area looks good and you might be able to make those color benches work if you just change the rug, it looked good in the natural lighting when you showed it except for the rug!

Love the kitchen colour, looks good with the kitchen blinds too! Great colour for the benches too, I would pull the benches out & leave a square in the corner to add a lamp. The kitchen looks soo cute! I think a little mat in front of the sink is a good idea. It is easier to maintain than a whole rug. As someone who also has to wash dishes by hand, I can say that having something softer to stand on makes doing dishes more tolerable. Love what you are doing 💕

Hey girl! A suggestion, you could put the big mirror diagonally where the hamper currently is and then put the hamper either at the end of your bed or in the closet☺️ I was going to minor in interior design in college so I love helping ppl with their decor 😂
Also the new kitchen color is a 10/10 🤩 You can still incorporate green accents in the kitchen such as fruit bowl, plant, etc... However it would go best with darker greens such as olives or forest green.

The new color goes so much better in the kitchen than the green. It looks great!
I actually think the rug is good where it is. There are grey tones in the rug that help match it to the benches. I would add the shelves in the corner like you said and decorate with red accents to match the red in the rug for even more cohesion. Also warm white lamps/string lights to make it feel like a super cozy little corner nook would be so cute.

I suggest a counter height table over the radiator, in the kitchen, to plug in the coffeemaker, etc. You can even build one with 2x4s.
everything is coming together so well! i love the new kitchen paint color, it works so well with all the colors that are already in the kitchen (cabinets, floors, counters, etc.) and makes it feel so warm and cozy! only thing I’d maybe suggest is changing out the light bulbs/light fixtures around your apartment, just to make the lighting a little more cozy and less harsh! i personally really only use lamps in my space because it helps the space feel so much warmer and more homey compared to the overhead lights that tend to be much more harsh and sterile looking. keep up the great work!!!

I love the new kitchen color! You're right, it does make you glow more than the green. Also, I think the rugs you have are perfect, you just need to switch which room they're in!! And if your dining room is too gray then, you could easily brighten it with pillows or wall decor. Your apartment is lovely and you've made great progress on it
you should hang a pendant light above your table! that would look so pretty and it's super cheap to find a cord and a shade, then you can screw a hook (or even a command hook) to the ceiling to suspend it above the table
First, repaint and furniture updates - yay! So happy for you it's coming along, I love home updates and know how long they can take.
Secondly, my cat has this quirk that she basically says "bless you" (as in I quote "mbrrwa") when I sneeze, and she did it when you sneezed as well. I thought that was so cute it might make you smile reading it haha.

O and if you are able to drill holes you can do a system where you use a drying rack which you can pull up to the ceiling with some rope.

The color is great! If you want, you can paint the stove hood maybe the color of your trim. They take paint nicely. Take it down and spray it or paint it with a brush. I've done both in the past. They turn out great! Kitchen is looking awesome!

Nice paint job! For someone who hasn’t renovated before, you did a great paint job. As long as the paint on the backsplash is easy to clean, I wouldn’t put anything there.
I’d definitely move the bedroom rug to dining area, and return the other rug - it’s too dark for your apartment.
Just a suggestion (another one 😊) go to some antique shops / flea markets (and take us with you) for things to decorate - less consumerism and more fun! And no more cardboard!!
Oh! And is there’s anywhere else for the tree? Storing things under the bed is really bad for energy flow around you while you’re sleeping.

I didn't think I hated the green until you started painting the new color! It looks so much calmer and cheery! Also the new dining room set up in great! Thd benches was such a good idea that i may steal it. I think the grey is fine, you don't need to cover it. Some large cushion along the back migh be nice. Something to sink into

It's not a waste of time at all. It's a journey and just enjoy the process. That's the good thing about living alone. Also, there're many brilliant interior designers on youtube and with loads of info and ideas. If you want someone professional to go on this design journey with you, perhaps try see if there's a possibility of collaborating with one of them! It doesn't have to be for the whole place. Even one room would be fun. Just an idea. But most importantly, enjoy the moment!
I am an introvert and i understand, my best friend is an extrovert and is so hard for her to understand that i enjoy my company, i don't feel lonely by myself, i feel alone when surrounded by people that don't match my vibes and energy.
Love the new kitchen color! ❤ - Your apartment has a color palette now from the brown couch and thrown pillows to your bed cover all in warm earth tones and neutrals. I think the large painting from your old apartment will look good over the benches and table and you might only need a shelf on the one wall. And maybe a wicker hanging lamp to relate to the one in the living room or even a wall sconce. And red accents will give you that shot of energy. It’s coming together and looking great and I feel more like it’s reflecting the real you now Chelsea - You are definitely an earth sign! Benches are a little bland like you thought but a throw will give them some pop and give the option of changing things later if you want. Nice job! Maybe some white paint for the stove hood too or ask the landlord to replace it?

Also, this might sound crazy, but try putting a big/oversized square tablecloth on the washing machine, and then stick a plant on top. Could work! And easy to remove when you want to use the machine. Oh, and I agree with the person who said, try switching the center room rug and the bedroom rug.

The kitchen color is beautiful; I have a suggestion though, you can change the light bulb to a daylight one, it will give the same vibe at night and help while you film in there at night.

The rug is nice and the benches too like you said some throw pillows and a throw. And maybe place mats to complement the pillows and rug. A wicker lamp would be nice

I wonder if you swapped the shade on the overhead light if that would help with the kitchen... and maybe get a small lamp or a light strip under the cabinets- for some softer ambient lighting in the kitchen... the new pinky/brown color is so much nicer than the green. And if you stay in this apartment for a while, you could repaint in a year or two, just for S&G's. I love you r Queens apartment. Can't wait to see what you'll be decorating and updating next!
