Most people will say their 30's are better than their 20's. I DEFINITELY agree. There are some things I wish I had appreciated more when I was younger, but I would not rewind my life to have it back again. Thus, we move forward and accept our body for what it CAN do instead of shaming it for what it can no longer do. That's the mindset I'm trying to have anyways, but it's not always easy. I'm at a point in my life where I'm noticing these shifts in my body and working to accept it. There's no uplifting conclusion to this video other than, we are all just a clump of cells on a floating rock and the world will end eventually anyways so YOLO. SOMETIMES YOU JUST GOTTA CUT THE HAIR OFF AND MOVE ON WITH YOUR LIFEEEEE ❤️

This!! I'll happily take every grey hair, line and wrinkle as a sign of a long and hopefully happy life. Losing my dad gave me such clarity on how short and precious life is, and it's too short to be weighed down by other people's opinions on what looks good/youthful etc. I am proud of aging. As my age increases, how many f**ks I give about other peoples opinions decreases! Be awesome people, whatever age you are :)

I agree with you. I am almost 30 and I've been getting some of that anxiety regarding to aging. But then I remember my younger days, so many of them I spent depressed and not wanting to live anymore. I was lucky to be able to overcome it, and being alive now is a true testament that I made it through. I am happier than I have ever been now and it still amazes me to see how far I've come. So I can say, in a way, aging is a blessing for those of us who thought of ending our own lives. Aging is proof that we decided to keep going and that makes me happy.
Just by the way.....that singer in the subway just shows us that the people we idolize are just a product of the system of: luck; preparedness; luck; connections; luck; talent; luck; hard work. Just so many amazing talents out there busking. Give them what you can when you see them. They make our lives alittle bit better.

The haircut looks so good, I personally think it makes you look younger! Your face seems so much brighter with how its framed by your haircut! It really accentuates how pretty your facial features are in my opinion.

bruh the not wanting to go out anymore after getting sober is so real. I tried to love going dancing sober so much for so long but it is such a sensory nighmare when you aren't intoxicated or on drugs it's so hard to enjoy. I want nothing more than to be cozy at home, going out is such a horrible option now

I'm a dancing queen & used to be a "clubber" every weekend........ loved, loved, loved it...... just loved being out & feeling like I was finally "invited to the party"...... was really good for my shy self - - since I'm not at all shy when I dance! : ) Around 35, I remember going out & just feeling like everyone looked like a baby around me - - I also did not want to end up with a 25 year old.....so, I just had to finally phase it all out. Plus, dancing usually equaled drinking too much & that was not good for me.
I fell in love a lot out dancing - - and, some of those relationships were good.....but, none of them lasted. I met my husband online...... he was the truest, sweetest, genuine guy & much closer to my age! Bonus, he LOVES to dance! So, we're not 35 anymore, but we will still dance the nite away when we can.....

My favorite thing about the kickass haircut, is how it immediately changed your energy up! Nothing sexier than confidence. As for aging…ain’t nothin to it but to do it. And the alternative sucks. Run the race, girl, in full knowledge of all u r doing that is good for you, inside and out!

That point where you can’t do partying anymore and just want to be cozy on your couch, I hit that around age 26. No shame in it. You like what you like and everyone has different ways of enjoying life. For me, that’s on my couch with a cup of tea with my cat.

This is what happens in your 30s. It happened to me like clockwork as soon as I crossed the threshold into my 30s. I used to party hard, which for me was strictly dancing. I was never a big drinker but now I use wine as sleep medicine and very rarely at that.
Maybe you could meet the love of your life in a club. I met mine at a gym and then met the real love of my life at an animal shelter.
Priorities change as you get older and that’s a good thing.
You couldn’t keep in the house in my younger years and now it’s hard to get me out 🤷🏻♀️.

I’m going to offer a tip: root boost! I like the spray on vs a mousse. Also there is a brand called Rusk that makes a spray on called “Thick.” It’s amazing and adds tons of volume to your hair. Someone else suggested blow drying your hair upside down and that works! Just don’t stand up too quickly and get dizzy, fall down and break a tooth! 🦷

i read somewhere i think it was a reddit post or something that a girl actually met her boyfriend because he literally came knocking at her door (she was looking for a roomate and wanted a girl at first but had a good feeling with this guy and they ended up being friends then together) lmao
I find something amusing... When girls are in grade school they cannot wait until they are in High School. Then, they cannot wait until they are 18. Then, they cannot wait until they are an adult at 21. Then, when they reach their 30's they are worried about looking "Old" ? I am very "OLD" and very happy. Why? It's better to be old. We've lived long enough to learn many life lessons. We don't care that we have some wrinkles either. We've earned those wrinkles... Enjoy "every day" you have, my young friends, and stop worrying....😊
Yesss I think this has to do with the expectations placed on us at such a young age. Not many of us were taught that we are beautiful just as we are, and to enjoy the present moment! I wish it was more of a universal thing to accept ourselves as your describe earlier in life!

1. I can’t believe tomorrow (5/18) I run the brooklyn half marathon!! Good luck to everyone else running it too! If you wanna follow my race in real time download the NYRR racing app and type my name in there to track me. I start around 8am ET! My location/pace updates every 5k distance.
2. I’m gonna try to stay offline most of today to finish my race preparations so I’ll be replying to most comments over the weekend!
3. Sooo excited for the community mixer Alexis and I are hosting in June!! (see community tab for more info). Tickets go on sale 5/20! We do have to charge for tickets to have the event in an actual event space VS public space. We decided to go the event space route for safety reasons because the internet can be weird lol. Thanks to everyone who is considering coming!! Excited to meet & mingle in person. Hoping everyone can get to know each other as well so we all leave with a new friend ❤

Get a blow dryer brush, with short hair it takes 2 mins and you get the salon look and it just makes you feel like a million bucks! I do it and its definitely a boost of confidence

It felt like I was free to start doing more things for me and exploring new things - writing, learning about design - whatever took my fancy and letting go of worrying about other peoples opinions of what I did.

Yes! I’m in my 50s, and while there are moments that I can get caught up in aspects of aging (I mean, I’d be lying if I didn’t admit to missing my 20-something rosy cheeks) I know that my life now is so much better - largely because I’ve come to fully embrace myself for who I am in a way I never did in my 20s, 30s, even 40s. Not dancing at the moment but am midway through a 4-month solo trek across Europe and loving this latest adventure ❤️

Just the past couple of years - I have started to obsess (which I don't like) about some wrinkles that have just shown up & weren't invited - 😂!!! But overall, as we age we appreciate so many different things that we often took for granted when we were really young! It's all a process & a journey no matter what decade one is traveling through, but the blessing is - is that we are here - alive - and living to hopefully be grateful for another day! Here some tips as Indian hair care i do or learn from grandmother
1. Do not wash hair without oiling. Sulphate weakens the hair shaft with prolong use. Oiling will protect it.
2. Keep your hair dry. Free from sweat and water. Sweat weakens hair follicles.
3. Massage your hair after oiling for 10 mins for circulation.
4. My mom hair oil recipe is coconut oil+ olive oil+castor oil+onion oil+ fenugreek seeds soak in it.
5. Avoid tight ponytail instead braid your hair simple loose braid.
6. Conditioner should be use occasionally it causes hair thining. Instead use over ripe banana mask once in 15 days.
Yes to all of these! conditioner is toxic to your hair and will do damage longterm (too many chemicals in most and doesnt let your hair breathe...), I dont use it at all (if you have straight hair you dont really need it anyway)!Sulphates are terrible and definitely weaken hair roots (try and get the more natural shampoos, less chemicals etc), and you dont need all those oils, just coconut oil already is more than enough and really makes a difference!
