As the father of this youtuber, and as a physician, I am learning about "kiss 'em on the lips" service. I wonder if I can provide that in my practice! I might hear from the authorities!

You have both made such gorgeous children ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ thank you! Xx
@@Caroline_Winkler it would appear that he just stumbled upon it by accident?
Nice! Does this much personality run in the family? Seems like Ms. Winkler missed her calling as a comedienne. I'd buy tickets to watch her extemporaneously riff on a stage. She is an inspiring woman.
@@inspiredsuccessexec oh my dad is 100% the original comedian. Best deadpan on planet earth
I would add to the Ethiopian conversation that Ethiopia is the birth place of coffee, and is a huge part of the culture. The reason Italy is so associated with coffee is that they tried SO HARD to colonize Ethiopia, but instead they just kinda got a cultural exchange where Italy got coffee and Ethiopia got pasta 😂
yess! i saw something about this on their website. although they actually said something like "coffee MAY have originated in ethiopia..." so i was like DID IT?!?!?! why are they teasing me like this. so thank you for sharing this confirmation!
shop.harrarcoffeeroastery.com/pages/our-beans
ooh what kind of Ethiopian dishes use pasta?
I really appreciate this comment!!! I'd wondered why my favorite Ethiopian restaurant also has Italian dishes 😂
@@nicoleh5529 I have had real Ethiopian coffee and it is legit! My auntie Maggie is from Ethiopia and will make little cups of it at family gatherings. Toasty, smooth and delish.
There's a lot of debate around this but coffee likely originated in Yemen. But obviously Ethiopian influenced coffee hugely.
“I am a seasoned judger” I felt that deeply. 😂
“I can’t sell them anyway cuz they’re bloody…” pure Caroline poetry.
Im just so happy the pointer is back. And in the car, extra fun!
That pointer in the car made me laugh out loud ;)
ok i intended to use the pointer so much more in this video, but then it turned out my chart was too far away to be viewed by the camera. the logistics of car-pointer really threw me, im sorry
@@Caroline_Winkler don't be it's marvelous 😊 and this pixelated blur
Saaaaameeee 😂 I loved the pointer! 😂🥰
I love that the pointer is actually a defense weapon used by the police. Or at least looks very similar to those.
You know it's going to be good when Caroline gets her pointer out.
You saying “that’ll do donkey” with Justin there has just made me realize he sort of looks like when that potion turned Shrek beautiful in shrek 2🤣🤣
haha ok i just googled beautiful shrek and im ready to get this guy a vest
When I was a kid, my whole class was learning how to cut with scissors and I was terrible at it, so the teacher assigned me a special teacher to spend more time with me to learn the way of the scissor.
My special scissor teacher noticed that I was left handed forced to use a right handed scissor. They got me a left handed scissor, stepped back, and watched me as I cut my little heart out. 😋 ✂️
I still sucked! I suck to this day!
Dont ask me to cut anything with scissors. 😒

The Way of the Scissor.
Makes me miss my extreme lefty brother even more. He was a single dad and he practically cried when I got him his first pair of left handed scissors. Sis and I always gifted him with tools from the Lefty Store!
I'm half Filipina, and that purple at the top of your latte is called "ube"! It's a purple yam that's commonly eaten in Filipino desserts. Ube ice cream is insanely delicious and will make your mouth demon-coloured, but it's worth it
Good looking out! I noticed that too, and wondered why they were calling it Vietnamese. Ube is very popular here on the West Coast - Trader Joe's even carries Ube products here. Perhaps not as well known in the rest of the U.S. We have Ube everything here in L.A. I'm off to Jollibee now...
Yes! I got an Ube Iced Coffee in Maui last Fall

bah thank u! i got it for a graduation i have to attend next week. ill add it to the video description!
I love the irony of you attempting, and initially failing, to get to a place called Any Day Now
The irony of the name any day now lol😂
I vote that this style of video becomes a series on this channel. DC has so many amazing coffee shops, bars, restaurants, etc. - it gives you an excuse to leave the house and us an excuse to watch you judge more things. Everyone would be happy. (Also, as someone who's from DC originally and comes back every year to see friends and family, I selfishly want to see what's considered cool and quality now around town.)
And to see her beautiful outfits. That was a pleasure.
You forgot one criteria: do they have tons of outlets? (for those of us who need the peer pressure of a coffee shop to get stuff done!)
Good point
Extra points if the outlets are not just for high top seating ! Lol i don’t always need an outlet but if I’m going to do work I will sit by the best outlet just in case
Lesson learned: When people don’t have to balance their bags, coffee and book in their hands while peeing they’re less likely to drop the toilet paper.
Well said 😂
ahh, blessed tiny tables
Enthusiastically odering what they tell you about immediately despite not knowing what it is and just accepting the wrong cake in a coffee shop that made you feel like an idiot is extremely relatable content.
I think your opinion matters a latte, regardless of credentials. Espresso yourself ☕☕☕

LMAO I love it here ❤
Omg she’s fallen and she can’t get up 😅

So did I! I'm 68 and I'm going to steal that line from Caroline and use it every chance I get.
Ooo...Justin is SO cute! What a great voice! This grandma finds him very charming.

“New day new bandaids” 😂 I just love seeing the relationship between you and Justin! You can tell the way he looks at you how captivated he is by you. As a NOVA resident I really appreciate this coffee shop review!! Your content is always fire. Love you so much- you always make me laugh!
aw that's really sweet. it was really fun having him in for a bit, i was getting so tired of filming alone and he always lifts up my energy
@Caroline_Winkler such a beautiful bf endorsement ❤🎉

Caroline! I live near DuPont and, as a seasoned barista, I absolutely must recommend DUA DC. It's a women-owned Indonesia coffee shop by McPherson Square, has IMMACULATE vibes, the nicest staff I've ever encountered, high quality coffee, gorgeous interior (the MUGS), fantastic treats, and the people watching is 10/10. Plus there's window seating so you can people watch those walking by as well as those coming in! I don't think I've used their bathroom though so you'll have to check that out when you go lol
The jumpsuit is a hard yes. Sooo flattering🧡
Ethiopia is where the coffee plant originated! Specifically the arabica coffee bean, which is a smoother milder blend versus the other species of coffee, Robusta. Ethiopian coffee is special because it's coffee grown in its natural environment and is also a precious and historical industry to the Ethiopians.
Yes, Arabica is much more smoother and less acidic than Robusta. The preferred variety in my country as well.
Caroline, I would watch you judge literally anything - you may have no coffee credentials, but every single opinion I've ever heard from you has been insightful
I absolutely second this. I am 128% in for a judging series of anything she feels like 😆
🎯
the judgement scale, I am a seasoned judger, the commentary on the shoes, the elderly and dying, new day new bandaids, the voices the LAUGH I have never wanted to sit in a coffee shop but love this video chefs kiss. Your humor is delightful.
I have never clicked a video so quickly
My daughter texts me her food treats a lot! Bathrooms are key to whether or not I can even drink coffee on the premises.
correct on all accounts
Why am I watching this, I don't drink coffee and have no reason to believe I'll be in DC ever, but still watched from beginning to end😅 apparently Caroline is now in my "do anything and I'll watch it" category
Same!! I mean someday I will be in DC but it could be 5-10 years from now so it won’t be relevant!
Can you plz do a fashion/outfit video? i.e. your fav outfits, accessories, idk shoes, go to places to shop? Know it's not your main self proclaimed expertise BUT every video I see your outfits and think: "cute, cute, loving the color, cute." Plz share!
i can't tell you how good that makes me feel bc it's so not what i consider a strong suit. ive actually received a lot of flack for my wardrobe for decades! but i will consider it!
@@Caroline_WinklerI think in your podcast you mentioned how you’ve learned to dress to flatter your own body and that’s stuck with me. I’d love a video on fashion and how to dress for yourself and not care so much about what people think.
@Caroline_Winkler THIS! Please please please! 💜
As a fellow DC girlie who does most of her work in coffee shops, this video is perfection THANK YOU CAROLINE!
Oh my! How you brought Justin in the frame, and then your smile - magic! ❤
I thoroughly enjoyed this. Would love more of these types of videos. Your commentary is appreciated. And great way to be introduced to new places to visit~ *Also great way to support local businesses that aren't just corporate franchises we are all familiar with* 👍
i'm so glad! ill tell you what - this video felt like a COMPLETE risk. i havent done one like it, but ive really wanted to try something new and get OUT OF MY APARTMENT. it'll be TBD to see if people enjoy the video long term, but what i know for sure is that i loved making it and id love to do more similar
Caroline- this is a fun way to explore the city! DC still has so many independent shops, I'd love for you to pick another interest and continue to explore!
You and justin are so effing cute, loved him on the podcast too. He balances you out but has that same analytic honest hater energy. Just from the pod/videos, i can see why it’s a match ❤️
I lived in most of those neighborhoods 30 yrs ago and not much has changed. I really miss DC!
OMG OMG,I feel EXACT!Y the same about upholstered furniture in public places. I refuse to go to the movie theater🙄 I feel very validated right now THANK YOU CAROLINE 💕
i knowww. i feel like im the minority here. but i can be ok with upholstered if it's been updated within like...10 years??? beyond that does make me pause
What about airplanes?
Caroline!
I would like to say hello and tell you that, despite the fact that I have 18 years on you👵🏼, and we have (almost) nothing in common, I have watched you since almost the beginning and enjoy how very much you remind me of my closest fam growing up-my cousins-and I love love LOVE the way you vlog and the way you use 🎶music despite it being copyrighted (tried this with my own channel however and the algorithm suppressed me😂🤷🏻♀️)
Anyhow thank you for the influence you have had on my YT channel and for consistently making me laugh and think about things from the past that had previously slipped my mind.
You’re a DOLL and I’m always praying for your happiness and peace…🙏🏻✨
Take care, lady!!!
🫶🏻Temmah✨
what a magnificently thoughtful message! I love love love that there has been a point of connection despite an age gap -- that's actually what i hope for! also i really appreciate your handle :) sending you a very big hug. and thank you
She uses a copyright licensing service I believe called lickd (though there are others too) where you pay monthly and then are allowed to use copyrighted songs they have licenses for and still monetize her videos. If you seriously want that you can try it yourself too. Though if your channel is small and unmonetized like mine, using a song that's allowed but not allowed to monetize might still be better.
Who else fist pumped the air for the return of the retractable baton? I literally bro-screamed YESSSS!!! when I saw the passenger seat explainer chart.

We looove the pointer 😂🎉
I know this is about coffee, Carolyn, but that fella of yours is so handsome and seems very kind and smart. It's lovely to see you together. ❤❤❤
Freaking Justin talking about coffee and my first thought was "this guy should narrate books" WTF! He has such a calming voice!
IDK if you changed your hairstyle but your hair looks so beautiful! Also, I love that you are judging bathrooms, I swear we need someone who speaks up about the state of the ladies room! 😂
doh, ive been trying different hair things! eternal experiment. thank god someone NOTICED
When I thought this video CANNOT get better, your boyfriend makes an appearance. 10 out of 10 stars content!
I don’t live in the US so have none of these coffee shops near me. I don’t even drink coffee- iced, latte or otherwise. I have zero credentials and am not that judgey a soul so I lack there too.
BUT I see Caroline and I know I’m in for an INSIGHTUL, FUN, DELIGHT of a time. Every time.
I clicked so fast ❤
I feel like Caroline could hace a side hustle making custom rating scales for people who are interested in quantifying their casual judgements.
"full blown Predator" 🤣
Going to DC at the end of the month, and this is the guide I needed. Thank you ☕
I audibly laughed
This video is everything about why I love watching anything you make Caroline! From the design critiques, the vibes, gems like “but I am a seasoned judger” and “new day, new band-aides” and the return of the retractable, flexible police stick! I love it all. Keep doing what you’re doing and I’ll keep watching!!
It’s nighttime on the east coast and my favorite CZcamsr posted about COFFEE SHOPS ALSO ONE IF MY FAVORITE THINGS. Do I wait until morning to drink coffee and watch or watch now? WHY IS LIFE SO HARD🤧
I’ll watch now.
ME TOO SAME. And i’ve been craving a goood coffee.
Watch and then re-watch 😂🎉
This video made my whole day. LOVED seeing Justin again, he makes my face ache from grinning like the big soppy dope that I am. But on a more serious note, I've just moved to Montpellier (south of France) after living in Paris for 10 years and I have zero friends to go to coffee shops with. So this video has inspired me to go and check out my local cafés on my own and do your scoring scale for my own amusement. Merci Caroline!
I LOVE that you included bathroom ratings, I literally rate every bathroom I visit on a 1-5 scale
Feet covered in bandaids is so real life 😂🎉
dying over how EMPTY that tatte was. i’ve never seen that location so peaceful. tatte is probably the thing i miss most about dc (a cashier told me last november that they’re expanding to nyc soon, but they haven’t publicly announced anything…). anyway, great little treats, and the best chai lattes ever. out of all the nyc cafes i’ve been to, i haven’t found any that have chai lattes similar to tatte’s 😭
truly never in my life have i seen it that empty haha. i used to go all the time but kind of got scared away by the crowds. maybe i just need to adjust my hours!
@@Caroline_Winkler probably fair weather had to do with it. Lots of people going out instead of staying indoors
I met my husband in a coffee shop & had him hooked on the chai lattes I made there. I used soy milk, I think it made a better chai latte.
And don't forget the cinnamon & nutmeg sprinkle
Thank you for explaining why I feel so ridiculous for standing in lines 🤣 I thought I was the only one. You are always able to articulate all these feelings so beautifully.
Love when my companion says "you need to check out the bathroom"¡
😂
Love how that guy across the street turned around while you struck that pose in that (smashing) outfit 😊
Another great video, I mean, the pointer and cameo by Justin, what's not to love?! I think a follow up video of how you would design a coffee shop might be fun 🤎
THE POINTER IN THE CAR HAHAHA I LOVE THAT
I own a little coffee shop on a small Greek island and I would freaking love it if you would come and review us!!!
Maybe Caroline will go there for her honeymoon. Maybe you could send her information on a nice place to stay. I don't know why...where you live sounds so awesome.
the exact motivation I needed to drink coffee at 9pm
You are the funniest person on the entirety of youtube. I am *delighted*.
I don’t drink coffee, of any sort, but something about seeing a new video posted by Caroline is just so gravitating 😌
please please please let this become a series!!!
Oh my goodness, your collection of dresses in this video is so sweet and summer-y!
It is now a fact: I love everything you do
I love finding and visiting coffee shops in my town, it’s a bit of a hobby. Most places aren’t quite as nice as the ones in this video but I have had great coffee and met some amazing people. Awesome video!
waiiiit, so as a native Restonite who dreads the city, I need to know how you’re driving in DC! like the roads are crazy, the diagonals, the parallel parking. I am in awe 😂 once my battery died after taking my mom to mass at the Basilica and I was trapped in a parallel spot, in a one way and literally ended up asking people on the street to jump my battery 😅 maybe it’s the trauma, but really driving in DC is noooo joke.
"How to be an adult in relationships" is a great book! His other book, "How to be an adult" is also great!
im only a little ways through it but i kept hearing it recommended, so glad to hear you liked it!
@@Caroline_Winkler Would you consider doing a review of the book 📖 if you find it helpful to you? Thanks ❤😊
I was so relieved to see the different outfits. Thinking about you having 6 coffees in a morning was making ME jittery. Also, I hope your parents are proud. Your video concepts seem so simple but I don't want to miss a moment, mostly because you're charming as heck and genuinely funny. Thank you, Caroline for spreading your sunshine!
Your videos make me smile. That's all.
You help me to learn English better🙃 especially because your sense of humour is the same as mine. You are teaching me to be fun again (long story of serial immigrations, 4 languages, not good in any anymore🤪). Thanks! Love all your videos starting from Ohio💪
Today is my birthday, it's been sh*tty... this video is just what i needed- thank you
God I wish I could give you a hug. I hate birthdays. You’re not alone. Happy birthday. You seem wonderful ❤
That’s the most entertaining thing I’ve watched this week.
It’s great to see Justin
I will likely never go to any of these places and don’t live in DC, but I absolutely needed this video. Top marks, Winkler-
GOD YES!
More of this please girl. I live for this.
Another hysterical video Caroline! Your personality is “that’s my daddy.” I visited Maman when I was in Georgetown and I was so happy I literally cried. And texted good photos to my sisters. And took photos of the bathroom. And almost kissed the manager. 10/10 would recommend.
Please tell us who makes that gorgeous “Brooklyn” jumpsuit! It looks great on you.
This is supposed to be the "sit down and watch" type of video, but I was doing chores and I wanted to listen to Caroline talk, so I was not watching, just listening and doing my thing. Then I heard this little chuckle, I wonder if Justin was in the scene. And there he is. Little things like this show how much in love you are. I am happy for you!
Love the DC content, telling me all the coffee shops to frequent!
I live in the UK (grew up in London and now living in Cornwall) and I have NEVER seen coffee shops as big as the ones you've shown in this video. Really says a lot about coffee culture in the US.

Was so worried you were about to go to 6 different coffee places in one day, I can’t even imagine that much caffeine ☕️
I am so glad you did a coffee shop critique. My husband and I own a coffee shop which is also inside our hardware store which was established in 1904. I also love local coffee shops too and there is a little bit of a ‘tude’ some baristas cop when this gramma shows up. But I know what I’m talking about out.
The sign outside our shop says 1901, but no it was 1904)) and the latte shop inside , “The Bean Counter” was opened in 2000. One of the things people seem to like about it is that it is a surprise to see. Locals love it because our coffee is good.
Now I have an idea of what categories we can work on, thanks to your insightful and correct judgement. Wish you could come here (but we’re way the hell and gone across the country from you) and critique us.
We would send you to The Baker’s Table bakery just up the street for treats. We support other businesses in our little PNW village.

I've never in my whole life of 73 years drank coffee - but, this is one of my most favorite videos you've done. I've hung out in many coffee shops to sit and write and have a snack and just a space away where I can feel like I'm at least in some kind of community. I love the smell of coffee but didn't drink it bc I didn't want to be an adult.🤪 So, I have water no ice and usually coffee cake, lemon poundcake or a cookie. If I'm hungry, I'll have a toasted bagel with the works. I'd love to see more videos like this. I like seeing what you wore each day too and your comment about the killer shoes that wouldn't let your toes relax.
Your videos are so calming. I love this type of slower pace content that makes you feel like you are there with the creator, enjoy life and having fun. I felt like I was on a trip with one of my friends, randomly deciding to rate the coffee shops of the city we’re visiting ❤️
