Bonus video!!! It's been SO hard keeping this secret!!đââŹI could not be more excited to welcome Gordo into our online family đ He's actually the love of my life I think lol. Sometimes the best things come into your life when you least expect it. As I'm writing this he's napping next to me đ„č cuteness overload
My Boots often naps ( & PURRS !) right next to me when I watch your videos ! Sheâs a fan, tooo !
So happy for you!
The best things can come so unexpectedly! My dog came to me through the stray dog distribution đ Sheâs been so good to me
Youâre almost 100,000â€â€â€
IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!
Live in Boston....tenants moved out on May 30th leaving a beautiful/friendly cat behind in their apartment with no electricity, water, food, litterbox. I volunteer for a rescue, they put an SOS out today for the landlady who was going to give it to animal control to be euthanized. I needed a cat like a whole in the head--cat is laying next to me purring right now. Always side with love.
Thank you for your compassion.
Litter box training? Kitties generally just need to be placed in the box once or twice and they instinctually know what to do. No real training required...
Enjoy this incredibly cute boy!
Did they get reported and then charged for animal abandonment? Thank you for opening your heart and home to the kitty.
There's a special place in hell....
Aww. Awesome story. â€â€â€â€â€
I would adopt a sibling if you can. They keep each other company when youâre not there. At least thatâs what my experience has been as a cat mom. Congratulations
I was going to say this too but I didn't want to sound like I was telling her what to do lol. We have 4 cats and volunteer at a cat rescue where they, for the most part, primarily only allow adoptions of single cats when there is another cat already in the house. Otherwise, the person has to adopt 2 cats. Especially if it's a bonded pair or kittens. The only cats allowed to be adopted alone are cats that hate other cats.
They absolutely need the stimulation of another cat around. Plus, it would be easier on Chelsea because they would keep each other company.
100%! Hopefully after a little while, she'll consider that. Also, when you introduce cats when they're kittens they're more accepting and can bond deeply. They teach each other through play, which is extremely valuable in their development. They're not solitary animals, contrary to popular belief, and thrive in the company of other cats, particularly of similar age. My two boys were introduced at about 2.5 months and became best friends immediately. Now almost 2 years later, they're still brothers from other mothers....tight as can be. Regardless, Chelsea providing a loving home for this fortunate kitten is fantastic.
I agree with a second kitty, but a more affordable way to bring another cat home would be to adopt from a shelter. This way they would already be fixed and micro chipped and have most of their kitten shots. I would probably wait a couple of months until Gordo has been neutered. Iâve been a cat mom for a long time, Iâve had one cat and Iâve had up to four cats living with me and they are definitely happier with a kitty companion.
@@missmoonstone6260 this is very true. People complain about the cost of adopting a cat, not realizing that the shelter pays for ALL that stuff. I got a kitten from a friend and I had to pay out of pocket for all of the necessities. Trust me, it's cheaper to adopt lol đ
@@butterpecanrican_ I have done it both ways and yes, a shelter adoption is way more affordable!
Gordo is a ladies man. Less than 24 hours and has you already wrapped around his paws!!! He is everything: fun, chill, charming! Congratulations mama!
my only recommendation for gordo is to have friends over so he gets used to other people! heâs super cute and iâm so glad you found him!!
That's great advice!
Such great advice! I rescued a kitten from behind my apartment in Brooklyn at the height of the pandemic. I already had two cats so heâs good with other cats, but because of everything going on at the time I wasnât able to socialize him with other people. Consequently heâs a huge love bug with me but still skittish around other people. I hadnât realized just how important socialization with multiple humans is.
This! I grew up on a farm with free roaming cats and they loved to snuggle with one another. The last time I saw our elder cat, I found her soaking in the sunlight, head rested on our German Shepherdâs belly. Iâm glad I was able to capture the moment with my phone, since she passed in her sleep a week later at the proud age of 15.
He's such a playful kitten.
not me sat here crying. what a perfect angel baby Gordo is!
Same heređđđ
Me toođđą
Sammmmeeee, he's so tinyâŁïž
Me too đđ Iâm just here sobbing. Iâm so happy for Gordo and you, Chelsea đ
Me too đđđ
Thank you for giving him a home. What a beautiful boy. If you could stretch at all to take a second one, you wouldn't regret it. Kittens do so well in bonded pairs and you'd be rewarded every day seeing their bond.
I don't think Gordo could have a better mother. He's a lucky boy. â€
As a cat lady, I was so excited to see this video! I have a soft spot for tabby cats and Gordo is adorable! The Cat Distribution System has given me 5 awesome cats. And I've currently got four foster kittens as well so I'm scooping a lot of litter boxes. đ
These are some of my favorite cat products. Some of these might work better for him as he gets older.
- SmartCat Ultimate Scratching Post
- Da Bird wand toy. I have to hide this because my cats go crazy for the feathers.
- UAH wireless pet fountain. I have two of these and all of my cats love them.
- Yeowww catnip toys. These are fully filled with catnip and I have to keep these hidden as well b/c my kitties have torn them apart.
- Sheer Fun For Cats. It's a sheer blanket with crinkly edges and my cats love when I drag toys underneath.
I'm so happy for you and Gordo! You're doing an amazing job so far and I'm looking forward to watching him grow.đ
â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€
@Ruchita_G. Your favorites are also some of mine. I have purchased from Amazon several of the Yeowww banana catnip toys. They love these things. I also purchased for all of my family cats. They are well made and no one has have them break open. Truly recommend when Gordo gets a bit older.
Cats add so much comfort and fun. Youâll love having him.
So at the end of April my husband was cleaning our boat and making sure the engine fired up to take it out on the lake. He went to shut the engine compartment and a small kitten appeared so he brought her into me. We decided to do what we could for her. Five hours later he was walking in the hot asphalt side of our property and heard something coming from a sticker bush. Another little kitten that was about two weeks younger then the first he found hours earlier. Here I was a total dog mom, but we figured we would foster these two little girls and ding them good homes. Well they did find a good home with us. I couldnât part with them and they love each other so much I could separate them. You are right good things happen when we are not looking for them. I never thought I could love kittens or cats like my dogs but boy I sure do!!
Do your puppies get along with your kittens?
Thank you for rescuing the little stray kitten! For myself, I couldn't help noticing that there was a little calico in that litter of three kittens. I love girl kittens and especially calicos, so I hope that somebody adopts that little calico, too.
Gordo is an ANGEL đ„č
he so is đ
A little window hammock would be excellent when he's older! And as someone who lives in an apartment with a cat, I HIGHLY recommend FlatCats cat screens for the windows. They allow you and your cat to get fresh air without the risk of your cat falling out of the window chasing after insects etc.
Thank you so much for sharing this!
I need these! Thank you!
When I was 11 my neighbour took in a stray cat who we discovered was pregnant and had four kittens. I watched them grown up from tiny tiny babies to opening their eyes and taking their first steps and begged for us to keep one. 17 years later my Maggie is my whole world, and even moved out with me. Watching this brought back all those memories of her first days as a tiny kitten in her new home and me running home from school the day I was to get her. Looking forward to seeing you both make lots of cute and happy memories as Gordo grows đ„°
We don't rescue them, they rescue us đ„Č
Oh my god, Chelsea! How freaking awesome is this?!?! As a cat mom of almost 30 years, I cannot express how awesome it is to be loved by a feline! Some unsolicited advice: keep the water bowl away from the food bowl, create a sleeping nook for him that is almost fully enclosed to feed into his natural protection instinct, buy a litter box that is way too big for him now that he'll grow into far faster than you could imagine and place it somewhere quiet (plus be ready to move it, cats are real fussy about this), get a scratching post or your furniture will be ruined, and get him a variety of toys to play with and play with him a lot. Hope this helps and have fun with your furry friend đ
Edit: Nevermind , you're an experienced cat lady yourself who doesn't need my adviceđ€Ł
Thank you so much!!!! Great advice â€ïž
Gordo immediately made me think of Lizzie Maguire even before you revealed that he was your favourite character. So happy for you! đ„°
Same here! I was so happy when she said that this is where the name is from đđ„°
I have two rescue Maine Coon cats and I wouldnât be without them. They are high maintenance at times, indoor cats, but their love, companionship and consistency are worth every penny. He is adorable
We had a Norwegian who was a magnificent little man. He was an outside boy and acted like he didn't want affection, but he melted. He became an indoor cat and was a cuddle buddy and scary smart.
Gordo is such a handsome little fella. Congrats
OMG Chelsea you didnât lie when you said that you had something extra coming this week. Itâs so cute that you actually brought me to tears. Gordoâs definitely going to become the channelâs mascot.đ»
I got misty eyed too when they were curled up on the floor, I remember doing that with my first cat of my own â€
We saved our kitten from the side of the road when he was 6 weeks old, my husband named him Mr. Ghee. He is such a great cat. Excited for you to feel the love of a rescue! ^_^
Gordo đ„č so precious.
What a beautiful addition to your life Chelsea. Heâll keep you on your toes â€â€â€
As a parent of a long haired boy myself DEFINITELY get him used to being brushed as soon as possible! I have a cranky one on my hands now that he's 7 and he despises being brushed, but he gets so many knots. Gotta keep up with it :) Have fun with your Gordo boy! He's adorable!
great advice, thank you â€
My long hair cat, Clarence, likes to be brushed when he eats đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
He actually demands it.
Welcome to cat motherhood!! As a seasoned cat mom, if you can, itâs best to have 2 at a time. They do really well with a friend. There are tons of rescues that can help trap the mom and babies to ensure they all get vaccinated and spayed/neutered. Mama can already get preggo again. Enjoy life with your new kitten!!đ±
Congratulations, your initiation into crazy cat lady-dome has begun. From here on you will rise the ranks one cat at a time.
Love that he makes your house a home.
I'm 43 and have never squealed in my life but I just did seeing the thumbnail! â€â€â€
Same here!!
Me too, lol!
oh my god gordo must be protected at all costs
I 10000% agree
How freaking adorable is Gordo!!
I feel like this kitten is going to fill your life with love. I also think she will never have to worry about love.
My 18.5 year old cat came to us at 5 weeks, and she was great. Stood up to our three adult cats and five dogs. Now, Im a widow living with two dogs and one old cat. Daisy used the litter box from the first day.
O-M-G!!!! Iâm so excited for you and little Gordo!!!!! đ»đ»đ» Congratulations!!
Iâm not even a cat person and Gordo is quite possibly one of the cutest things Iâve ever seen. You said he makes your house a home, and I love that.đâ€â€
I think this is actually what you need in your life. He is adorable!
Gordo, Gordito, is such an endearing name for a pet! You are rocking this new mom situation , and I have my suspicions that Gordo is going to be so spoiled. Please keep him in your contentâ€â€â€
Congratulations on becoming a đ cat Mom. Gordo is adorable..
THIS IS A VIDEO OF 2 ANGELS ON EARTH CANT GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS
You just cant find beautiful content like this anymore! Thank you Chelsea for blessing us on our feeds. Love you!
the scream i scrumpt seeing this thumbnail!!! so excited for you :) little gordo is so precious!
Not me starting to cry the moment Gordon started purring...
He couldn't be more perfect. â€
Cats are the heart of a home.
you don't even know how excited I was to watch this when I first saw the thumbnail! Gordo is perfect, im so happy for you! can't wait until my cat finds me
I live alone and don't know what I'd do without my furry friends!! So happy for you!!!!
Man, I love the cat distribution system! Gordo is gorgo!
This is so exciting!! If you can I would definitely adopt one of his siblings too! I was in a very similar situation where a friend found a kitten and I planned on adopting her and then she found her sister and told me I had to either take both or none. I originally never planned on getting 2 kittens but I was already so committed to getting the first so I took both. It ended up being the best possible decision, they are best friends and keep each other entertained and always are together and helps them stay out of trouble. Also my cats are so well behaved and don't bite or scratch people and they say that if a kitten is raised as a single cat it never learns not to bite/ scratch because they learn that those things hurt as babies by playing with other kittens so when they don't have that experience they tend to be more nippy. Just food for thought, but congratulations either way!
So true đ I took in a kitten and she thought I was a chew toy until she got a playmate! You will be a wonderful kitty momma!
Your life will become so enhanced by this lil kitty
I'm in love with gordo đđ he's precious đ I can't wait to see him get along with his brother or her sister
I'm not even a cat person but Gordo is ridiculously adorable â€đŸ
Shaking screaming crying right now at how CUTE the little baby is. Ohhhhhh it's going to be such a snuggly and nice and loving time!!!! SO happy for you!!!! this gave me serotonin for the rest of juneđ„°đ„°đ„°đ„°

Dang adorable! He is the luckiest kitty of all; yay to being a kitty mom!
I just had to say goodbye to my soulmate kitty of 17 years about a month agoâŠdefinitely teared up watching you in the very beginning stages of a lifelong bond with your sweet Gordo. †Bless you for taking him in, you will be the absolute best cat mama. đ„°
so sorry for your loss Xx
@@christinabellamoore thank you so much for your kind words †bless you
He's precious đ I pray his little siblings are also blessed with good homes.
Me too! Iâve asked to stay updated :) if they have trouble adopting the rest I might take another LOL
@@ChelseaCallahan You should! They need companions!đ±đ±

Awww! Gordo! Such a cutie! đ„° And youâre already such a wonderful cat mom, Chelsea! I love how you prepared everything for him. Looking forward to all the forthcoming adventures with you and him! đ±
Youâre the best cat mom ever, every cat deserves someone like you â€ïž
P.S. And, congratulations on Gordo - wow - HE is absolutely adorable!!! đ
also you had me at "I rescued a stray kitten" LOVE IT.
Ideally the whole family should have been given to a cat rescue but having said that, good for you! I have two kittens right now, got them at 8 weeks old but they were already weaned from mom. 2 is always better because they have each other to train each other so if you can, get another one, especially since he is so young! And do your reasearch on free feeding and dry food, it's not great to give them. They need the moisture of wet and make sure it's actually kitten food for the first year. Look at Jackson Gallaxay's videos on raising a kitten and cats, they are great!! You will be a wonderful cat mom!
agree on all parts. Jackson Gallaxay's videos have been super helpful for sure!
Try Kitten Lady as well. đ»
The rescues in NYC are overwhelmed right now, so if direct homes were able to be found for all the cats thatâs the best case scenario. I do hope mom and all the kittens are being spayed/neutered, though!
@@ChelseaCallahan Check out Flatbush Cats!
@@ChelseaCallahanI really, really want to be excited for you about Gordo, but as a cat lover and someone who works in cat rescue, Iâm disappointed that there was no mention of trying to find a rescue that would take in mom and babies all together, or even that you could have become a foster and done so yourself. Maybe thereâs context Iâm not aware of and all avenues were explored, I donât know. I hope so. The reality is that kittens taken away too early can experience lifelong anxiety, and letting mom stay out on the street without being spayed pretty much guarantees that this cycle will continue and mom will likely be pregnant again in a few months. Iâm kind of devastated for little Gordo, and his family, tbh. Edited to add: I know youâre the kind of person who is genuinely dedicated to being a positive force in the world so I donât think there was any malice on your part, and either I donât know the whole story or it was just from lack of awareness on your part. Would love to hear you talk more about it in the future.
When i had my cat i freaked the fuck out too. People around me told me i was overreacting but watching this made me cry. The 2am check up was very relatable. I totally understand the anxiety of being responsible for the life of a small creature. It is like having a newborn. Mayeb not exactly but i felt like a mother
I have rescued several stray cats over the years (including the very first cat I ever had at age 36). It's a truly wonderful thing to do for the kitties' lives. The Cat Distribution System strikes again!
I knew there was a bonus video coming but a adopting a kitten is such great unexpected news, well done Chelsea!
I can't believe how good he is being! For a 'stray' kitten, he is so chill. Doesn't cry for his siblings and mother, wasn't very skittish even from the first moments, he's cute as a button!, smart as a whip, I love him already and you are such a good mother!
Bless you for adopting this little angel.đ
Gordo is a sweet little king!!!! and you are the best cat mom!!!
Thank you for rescuing the little fur ball. Love his name, so perfect! đ»
Aaaaaahhhh!!!! Chelsea! I clicked so fast! I didn't expect this! How exciting and lovely! Woohoo, congratulations to your additional family member! đ
As a fellow boy cat mum Iâm sooo excited for this content! Iâm so happy for you cats are the best đ
Lucky Gordo. Heâll have a lovely life. Heâs very cute.
Hi Chelsea! Gordo is adorable. Weâve had many cats over the years but my favorite was a black tomcat that adopted us. He was so sweet and protected me from a stray dog that snuck up on me while I was preoccupied washing my car. Cats rock (dogs too)! I like that you are keeping his travel crate out and open so he gets used to it and is not afraid. Youâll have to change your title to: Just the two of us living together in NYC!! đŸđ
The cat distribution system did a great job!!
It was the reverse, the cat rescued you and look how much happier you are for it.
Yes đ welcome to the Cat Lady Club. A pet is so good for mental health, great job Chelsea!
Oh my god. Aggressive cuteness is REAL
That is the perfect way to describe him haha
Proof that the universe will send you exactly what you need. I'm thrilled for you, Chelsea. He's the cutest.
Tearing up at the first purr and your âI love youâs
Gordo is adorable; I have a cat with those markings but heâs a big boy now. You forget how tiny they were. Gordo is so good for you, you just light up when youâre watching him.
Stop it right MEOW!!!!!! I love him
Ok so my heart just exploded the first 10 seconds â€â€â€
So happy you have Gordo. You need himđ
Gordo is so beautiful!
Not me crying for the little montage. omw. you are so deserving of this little one. I just know she's gonna have the best life!
Cat distribution at its finest; Gordo has gotten a great mom! I'm so happy for you both!
that so cute and iâm so happy for you! as a fellow cat lady-welcome to the club! đđ also a tip, do not keep water next to food, try too feed cat wet food, 76% minimum meat, cats are carnivores, they only eat meat and whiskas etc are literally like a mcdonaldâs to us-trash food. also! no dry food, thereâs a lot of grains (god forbid giving smth fror a cat with grains) and yeast also the food bowl, not plastic. too many germs, i prefer and my vet recommends a normal ceramics. also! itâs better to just put food on a flat plate, so that whiskers, that are very sensitive, do not bother cat while heâs eating. itâs annoying for a cat to eat from a small bowl. also! (xd) as a person with adhd, i myself struggle sometimes so iphone reminders are always on eg. buy food, clean litter box etc and clean bowl, i clean every time my cats done eating cause he once got cats acne and i donât want that to happen again đ if anything i wrote is weirdly formulated im sorry im not english native (in from Poland) so iâm so sorry! anyway! youâre going to be an amazing cat mom im so happy đđđđ
8:44 I actually got teary here Chels! đ itâs so sweet
Cat tower, kitty toys. get that kitty ball set with the three tiers with 3 or 4 balls inside. they love to play with that a lot and get the toy with the stuffed animal on a stick that will trigger her "preadator/prey" drive. they love it! such fun you are going to have!
Gordo is so cute!!! Thank you for giving them a lovely home. Something similar happened to me, but I didn't have much choice. I was about to leave my house for a medical appointment when I saw a Pucca, a dog from the neighbourhood wandering around with something furry on her mouth... I called her as she's friendly and when she came to me, I saw it was a kitten.
I was worried but noticed she was carrying it around like a puppy of her own, not harming it. I asked Pucca to give the kitten to me and she gently put it on the floor. It was really, really hot that day, and I imagine she wanted to keep it safe? I don't really know where the kitten came from, but she was only 4 weeks old. Didn't even walk yet, she just waddled around.
She seemed to be just fine, but seeing she was so little, I cancelled my appointment and immediatly rushed to the vet. I had to bottle feed her every 3 hours - this lasted 3 weeks, it was madness. She got sick one time because of her low defenses, but after plenty of vet visits and getting her a treatment for it, she pulled through.
And that is the story of how Cleo came to my life. She's now 6 months old going strong and terrorizing my family lol. But we love her so much we could not give her to somebody else, she's my baby.
I think they come to us when we most need them, we just don't know it yet. Wishing you the best of luck with Gordo â„
awww so cuteđ„° waking baby up at 2am to see if they're breathing is a parent thing, don't worry... congrats, Chelsea! You're a momđ
Oh Gordo is so adorable, Chelsea!! You are a wonderful cat momma and I can tell he loves you.
Gordo looks like my Wasabi. I miss her so much. Iâm so happy for you both. Unconditional loveâ€â€â€â€â€
I have a 3 month old i rescued as well. I would suggest that after he wakes up and after he eats you just place him in the box and simulate digging with his paws. Keep an eye on him and every few hours keep putting him in the box. He will pick it up very quickly
Exactly what I did everytime my kittens woke up or are I out them by opening the litter box and it took less then four days and they had it down and they were under two months old.
Awww welcome to being a cat mom â€. Just some advice, be very carful with kittens as they are quite fragile at least until 6 months (talking from experience đ ) and donât leave him alone for more than 4 hours. Cats are the best compagnons, smart, independent and so cuddly. I wish you so much joy with little Gordo, canât wait to see him growing up in your videos đ„°
He is literally the cutest little boy đ„č
Such a blessing!! Thanks for saving his life. â€â€
Awwww yay!! You're a cat mom now, finally! đâ€
My heart sings for you both!
Looks exactly like my big girl looked like as a kitten. I legit burst into tears, your little angel!! â€
He warmed up to you so so fast!! Your little soul kitty. I'm a cat mom too. It's the best kind of unconditional love.
Congrats!! â„đ You're doing such a good job cat proofing. I have a tabby, too!
Some of my favorite cat stuff:
- Litter Genie
- Petlibro water fountain (male cats can get something called a urinary blockage due to their anatomy, so it's super important for them to be hydrated)
Since he's so young, it's a perfect opportunity to get him familiarized with you touching his face and paws. This helps him get used to those feelings for when you have to brush his teeth and cut his nails. You're going to be a great cat mom!!!
Yes, look up these foods! Don't feed him spinach - it almost killed my parent's second kitten.
