- A modern classic of magic The Chop Cup.
Its the Cups and Balls but streamlined to use only one cup and one ball.
The Cups and Balls is considered by many to be the oldest trick in the world.
Magicians:
The cup used in this routine is a PFD Chop Cup which I bought from Prop Dog and is in my opinion one of the best cups available. Spun copper with a wide mouth for the final load. Nice weight too.

Very nice routine. I get very confused when attempting the chop cup. I often forget where the ball is supposed to appear, where it's meant to go etc, because of the speed of the transitions. It must have taken many hours of practice in memorising all this and putting it together. Nice to use elements of Paul Daniels too.
I am 59 so can remember seeing Paul performing the Chop Cup for the first time on TV. I was inspired by his performance and my routine is essential his. The tennis balls always throw the audience a curve ball. If you like the chop cup check out Scott Alexander's chop cup cabaret routine "A Fakir Miracle" pure genius.
It's on CZcams
@@magicuncut6576 Yes, the Scott Alexander routine sas excellent with the humour adding an extra dimension. Personally this one is my favourite

Very good and very funny.
The problem with performing magic on You tube without an audience is no interaction and no chance of injecting humour. I've struggled as I need that interaction. That's why I use Lee behind the camera.
I think I need some live footage on my site.
Brilliant. Really enjoyed that.very entertaining. Great work 👏.
Thanks Mark. So glad you liked it. There is a shorter version I recorded in the garden on the channel. I normally do that version when table hopping check it out. Check out some of our other videos, reviews and tutorials. Appreciate your support. Graham 👍👍😀😀

There are a few version on my channel wooden cups dice cups even a performance in the garden 🤣🤣
@@magicuncut6576 you should do magic reviews too!! I think you’d be good
I tried a few reviews but didn't get much response. My performances are like reviews as I always credit the creator and supply links. Plus I only feature magic I think is good working material 👍
Nice routine!
Cheers. Check out some of the other effects on our channel. Graham 👍👍👍😀😀
PLEASE TEACH ME HOW TO DO THAT
Thanks for the comment 👍👍
Love your thoughts on other videos on my channel 👍
It would not be possible for me to do a tutorial with out exposing the method used.
There are loads of DVDs and downloads available that teach the chop cup.
There are loads of chop cups available on the market.
TCC do a really nice leather cup that works really well and is recommended 👍👍👍👍
Where's Diane? Under the cup..
Mad!!!
The last part was blocked from view because of pop ups.
Thanks Jim. I will arrange for the Pop ups to be moved. 👍👍😀👍 check out other effects on my channel. Appreciate all feedback 👍
Don't use Paul Daniels's patter TOO MUCH will you !!!!
Point taken but I was heavily influenced by Paul as a young magician and loved his patter and style. Check out other effects on my channel and you will see many influences in different routines. I'm sure you style yourself on magicians you admire.
@magicuncut6576 Whilst I like a lot of different routines and patterns used by magicians, I myself never copy what others have said in my routines when performing
The reason being is because it becomes boring and copying what someone has said in the same performance makes it non authentic and by copying someone's else's patter, I would not be myself if I did that
Just my thoughts/opinion and the way I am
If you check out my channel you will see I perform a large variety of commercially available magic as well as non commercial effects. Whilst I do borrow patter from the creator I always try to add my own personality and style also adapting the handling to suit me. I've performed live at paid gigs from theatres to local bars and have never been described as boring. It's difficult to generate the audience reactions and interactions when not performing live. There is footage on the channel of a kids party check out the kids reactions. We are in the business of entertainment after all.
You're too close to the camera.
Point taken..
I think I might film the routine again.
👍👍👍
