Custom Supercharged K10 Firewall Fabrication - LT4 Swapped Chevy Squarebody Ep. 3

- This week we're knocking out some of our final fabrication before we tear this lifted Chevy K10 squarebody down even farther for paint! This supercharged LT4 K10 is getting all the swiss cheese holes in the frame plugged up, and while we're there welding, we're also going to measure out and fabricate our King Shocks bump stop mounts that came in our ORD kit! We're not stopping there with frame work either. Our front shock hoops are blocking the best path for our steering shaft, so we're knocking out a chuck from the hoop, and reinforcing it so we can have the best steering angle to turn the massive tires that are going on this off road K10! The cab of the squarebody is getting worked on this episode too, with some custom sheet metal for the fire wall. All the awkward bumps, divets and holes in the original firewall just didn't look up to par for the truck we're building. So we're breaking out the cutting wheel and going to town taking out pieces of this cab. The new bead rolled metal not only gives the front of the cab a much sleeker look, but also adds back in the rigidity we removed when cutting away all the bracing and brackets. By the end of the episode, we have this off road ready, lifted, supercharged, angry K10 squarebody ready to be stripped down for paint. So make sure to like and subscribe so you don't miss this Chevy getting painted, polished, and put back together one last time!

I like seeing Mikey do work too, he's not just a boss but a leader aswell!
He can't stay out of the shop! Always has his hands dirty!
Nicest square body build on the you Tube! great video, I like that you show the trials like putting a bead into a piece and then how you hammered it out and redid the bead on the same piece rather than scrapping it!!
Glad you liked it! Thanks so much for watching and for the support!
Dude that truck is going to be bad ass when its done. Welding on the frame holes closed is such a great touch on a lifted truck
Especially when it'll easily be in view once you take 5 steps back from the truck!
That truck is going to be bad ass!
music so chill. how did I get roped into watching cutting and grinding for 15 mins. lol
We try to keep you relaxed as we are frustrated cutting through all the rust
Yo y’all need to cut off and reweld those bump stops to the frame, those welds need some work lol
Now that is what experience does for a job! Installing that plate and marking the holes before cutting out the section with the holes. GENIUS! 👍😁 4:20
Plugging all the holes in the frame is a nice touch. As usual! 😁
The job is coming together nice!👍
We've done it the latter way enough times to learn our lessons! lol
This truck is going to be bad ass!!!!
Getting closer and closer to having her on the street!
Killin' it on the K10...
S2S!!
Thanks so much!
I keep telling everyone I know in the car community (& then some) to check out the cool 'stuff' on this channel!
That’s the biggest and best thing we can ask for. We appreciate the support brother.
You guys are littery building my next build 🤯🥶👍!
That's awesome!! Best of luck with your project!!
I cant wait to see it when it is done.
We're getting closer and closer!
I hope you intend to connect the front shock hoops. Also, consider reinforcing the weld down the frame rail for the panhard bar bracket. I have the same kit and desert roads, off-roading, and 5 years of driving left me with a crack on that weld as well as a tear in the frame just in front of the bracket. Great work, guys!
Thanks for the heads up! The entire frame is getting a once-over with all the welds before it gets broken down for paint. Sometimes we can't finish ALL the work before the episode has to go out, just because we want to make sure that we can get these videos out to you in time! Thanks for all the support! Hope you keep following along with the build
Shock towers need more bracing
Great job! I’m impressed with your work , you build a truck like it’s your own!! From Mike’s redo of the bead roll on the firewall to Dave building and double checking the bump stop bracket, Andrew plugging all those unused holes in the frame, outstanding!
Thanks for your time!
Thanks for YOUR time! We really appreciate all the support. Not only watching the videos but commenting on them as well. It means a ton to us!
Mike never fails to impress / I need his voice inside my head while I work on my project disaster
I would put that same support bracket on the passenger side so it looks the same as the driver side! Not to mention, it will give you somewhere to mount the reservoirs for the shocks!!
That's a good idea!
Ahhh man was waiting for this content
Hope you like it!
Great video! Top notch work and I always love the creativity. Give the kid some more responsibility, it's fun to watch him learn.
Khalel has grown so much since he began at the shop! Maybe we'll throw in a series on his next personal project. He's always trying to chop up whatever car he's driving!
What I love about this channel is the skills you guys have. And I love that you are teaching these skills to a new generation aswell as learning new skills like all the cool ev stuff you have been doing. Keep it up its awesome to see
Thanks so much for the support! We're just trying to get people excited about building cars and trucks again. Young or old!
Mid 90's jeep XJ steering shaft is basically a direct bolt in. Many people do this steering shaft upgrade as it eliminates the ragjoint. Check it out.
Thanks for the heads up! We'll check it out!
Top tier level of craftsmanship, Awesome job!
Thank you very much!
Freaking epic work lads! 🤙
Thanks a ton!
I love all the factory stampings on my 47 Ford pickup firewall.
They definitely have their place, just not on this build!
Great build
Thank you!
Another excellent video. This series showcases some superb talent. Gonna be an awesome truck!
Thanks so much for the support! We're getting closer and closer to firing this one up!
Love this channel much love guys !
Thanks so much! You don't know how much that means to us!
It's good to know that Mikey has his inner peace...
...
...oh, inner PIECE! Sorry, my bad! 😁😁😇😇🤘🤘
Yesss! You slacked off on the puns last week lol This one made up for it though!
Another banger!
Thank you!!
Shes lookn gooood boizzzzz! 💪😎🤙
Getting closer and closer to tearing up the streets!
Andrew it’s Ross from Wyo! 🤣 wuddup gangsta?!
Wasssssupppp!!!!!
Mikey ... I'm going to nickname you "Going to Town Mikey" from now on ... dude, you just make it happen. Well done on the K10. Giving me ideas for my son's K5 Blazer we're working on. :o)
Lol, I’ve been called worse! I’ll take it brother. Thanks for watching, hope we can keep the inspiration going.
Love the Monday drops! Looking sweet!
I think it's Wednesday my friend! lol
This build is getting on good.
We're stoked with the progress we're making! Thanks for the support!
nice!
Thank you! Cheers!
Yet again another great job guys.
Thanks so much dude! We really appreciate your support!
Always. Look forward to videos each week to see what kinda stuff yall get into
Awesome job as usual, why no update on the pumpkin in the background?
There'll be one coming on shortly!
👏🔥 Great job
Thank you! 😊
Surely you're gonna more bracing to your top shock mount??
Great looking work guys, you are killin it for sure.
Thanks so much!!
Tons of work on that chassis. It’s pretty annoying to see all the work into these chassis’ and all those holes left open. Nice to see you guys take the time to slick it up.
We definitely had to make sure they were all filled in with how high this truck is going to sit! Glad you appreciate the little extra bits on the build!
BOOM! More S2S goodness.
More to come too!
good job guys! just amazing, wow
Thank you!
lovely video and metal work. makes me wanna work there.
Send in your application!
It's factory sealer. I just got done cleaning mine and wondered the same thing.
That sealer must not have been very expensive because they globbed that stuff on! lol
I think the front hoops need more bracing or a brace over the engine tying there together, that is pretty common practice
We will be adding a upper hoop once the engine is installed for sure.
🤙🤘🏿
Great work on that firewall!
Can we get details on music used for this one please? Thanks!
mint
Glad you like it!
I personally think those front shock loops look like a weak point they should have been bent to a 90 angle on the ends and put through a hole in the chassis legs so the load was carried by both sides of the chassis rail , in double shear . Although like most big money custom builds it will probably never get driven so most likely it wont matter . I do however think it looks sick !
That's a good point! It's definitely going to be driven off road, just not absolutely thrashed. We're lucky to have Andrew in the shop who cut his teeth in the off road industry in his early days of building cars and trucks. We're pretty confident in the set up, but we'll see once it's out on the trails!
@@SalvagetoSavage I cut mine in the mining equipment industry LOL I over engineer everything
Why not do a 2-piece steering shaft instead? Also, usually those shock hoops have a removable crossmember that goes over the engine.
The shock hoop is coming in another episode! And we would rather have a single piece steering column rather than jointing a two piece at a weird angle. We did some mock ups and that was our best option!
Bad front end, I would have kept the leaf spring set up
Sweet square! Gives me ideas to do to mine. Just asking what happened to Tim?
He moved on to another project a little while ago.
Cool, wish him well on everything he does. Thanks for the great content! Keep it up!
How come you guys didn’t put the rear coil overs up through the bed so they were more vertical?
The rear coil overs on this set up are supposed to be angled back a bit
Should of redone the front spring hoops.
I have the same Shit on my Firewall at my 84 GMC....i think thats from Factory.
There was definitely no shortage of seam sealer that year!
That's factory seam sealer.
There's so freakin much of it!
чисто интересно 🤔 это штука ездить каждый день 🤔 или под гидравлику ? слишком веселая подвеска для "простой" машины
Those welds on the bump stop didnt look right.
so wheres the heater??! i can say it sucks without a heater, ac we can live without.
👁👃👁
*👋D🔥PE👍*
Thank you!
Yes that crap on firewall was from factory unfortunately
It was not fun to get rid of!
