  • In the northwestern mountains of Mexico there is an indigenous community renowned for long-distance running. They are called the Raramuris which means “the running feet.”
    The Raramuris are used to walking or running dozens of miles in the canyons and mountains of their homeland.
    One Raramuri member made international headlines after she won a marathon in Mexico wearing a skirt and sandals.
