@9:28 Eddie Mekka RIP
Many of my generation will remember him as "Carmine Ragusa" in Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley.
*"You know I’d go from rags to riches!"*
He was like the #2 Fonzie - AYYYY! Thanks dude, you'll be missed. =(
The Big Ragu...loved him...Damn
This one makes me tear up. 😢
You couldn't find 1 reason to dislike this guy!! He was All ❤!!
Loved his character ! So sad 😞
My two girlfriends used to date him in the 80's. He was one of the nicest guys in the world.
"The Big Ragu" loved "Laverne & Shirley" grew up with that show. R.I.P.
Mustn't forget these 6 Waukesha Christmas Parade murder victims aswell. Jackson Sparks, Tamara Durand, Jane Kulich, LeAnn Owen, Virginia Sorenson, and Wilhelm Hospel.
Seems like nobody wants to talk about those poor people
F the media too!
@@christopherthomas6336 Exactly, that is why posted their names. JS was only 8.
They were mentioned in another video.
@@christopherthomas6336 May I ask you why do you think that is?
The Big Ragoo is gone so soon. To me the 70's was the golden era of television. He will be missed sorely just like Penny Marshall.
David Lander (Squiggy) died last year.
Rest In Peace Carmine!
😥
Penny Too? Now there is only Lenny I think. Time is a cruel persistent illusion.
Wow, I wasn't aware The Big Ragoo died.
I saw Eddie Mekka MC with Cindy Williams in the live version of Grease in my hometown . They showed the crowd how to hand jive between sets. It was a memory I will treasure.
I remember he did a appearance in a league of there own the guy that danced with Madonna and did a guess appearance on its always sunny in Philly, was frank rival from when they were young
I had such a crush on Eddie as Carmine, I've always loved guys that can sing.
Eddie Mekka!The Ragu!RIP!
Rip Big Ragu. Hope you meet up with the rest of the passed actors from Laverne and Shirley and have a great reunion.
Same here!👍
🎶You know I go from rags to riches🎶😭
Penny Marshall AKA Laverne DeFazio may she rest in peace also 💐
We are all like a flower in a field, here today, gone tomorrow. Rest in peace to all those who have gone before us.
Beware the mower. Robert Frost wrote an excellent poem, while a NH high school teacher about finding a flower a sythe swinger had spared, 'just because' with the spare-er not knowing if anyone else would notice or care.
Couldn't have been said any better
Eddie Mecca used to shop at a store I worked at in Las Vegas in the 1990s. He was a truly nice human being.
David Gulpilil, the Aboriginal actor, was in an awesome movie called "Walkabout". It's one of the first films that showcased Australia.
Isnt walkabout, the movie where the sister and brothers dad killed himself and the kids were abandoned?
@@willielarimer7170 That is the one.
Great film! Jenny Agutter was the older sister. I've always admired her.
Thank you for including the students that were tragically murdered @ Oxford. May all have eternal rest and peace. God bless. 🙏❤️🕊️
I hope they made preparations to meet their God.
What about the ones who were mowed down by Darrell Brooks in WI? They mattered too (especially the 4 who died, one a child).
@@virginiaconnor8350 There were Six.
I loved her on As the world turns.
Lily's birth mom 💔
THEY DIDNT SAY CAUSE OF DEATH
Wow I have learned something new, for year's I always thought that Tiger Wood's was the first African American golfer. As for Eddie Mekka, I remember when he played the cop "Charlie Carnelli" on the show "Family Matter's". Also on another episode he played a swim instructor, when Urkel had to learn how to swim. Still loved him on "Laverne and Shirley" though
I remember watching actor, Eddie Mekka " The Big Ragu", on , Laverne & Shirley, back in the 70s, such a wonderful actor!!! - May He Rest In Peace - 🙏🕊✌
Thank you so much for honoring David Dqlaitgnu. An Australia great.
I so appreciate your narration, and also that you include those who are not noted celebrities. Thank you.
"He was a man who loved his land and his culture, and he was a man who took it to the world."
RIP David Gulpilil Ridjimiraril Dalaithngu AM
I remember Micheal Tylo and Lisa Brown on the Guiding Light! They where a dream couple! So Sorry to hear both are gone! RIP!
Isn’t it strange how they died months apart! Wow!! I do remember them well on guiding light…….loved Nola Brown!
@@Cocoatreat Yes it is strange how their deaths were so close together. They were really one of the greatest soap opera couples!
Michael Typo… yes, indeed.
Nola was the best thing to happen to Guiding Light.
@@Cocoatreat I'm just hearing about Lisa Brown. I am shocked. She and Michael Tylo were the reason I fell in love with Guiding Light. Watching the Locker Room on YT last year Martha Byrne spoke how she talked with Lisa everyday on the phone and how close they were. I am saddened to hear this. RIP
So sad to hear about David Gulpilil. If you have never seen Walkabout (1971)--do so. Beautiful movie and a beautiful performance by him.
I began watching Guiding Light at the age of 17. Nola was my absolute favorite person. I worshiped the ground Lisa Brown walked on. You neglected to tell us that she had been married to her former Guiding Light co star Tom Nielsen. They had two children James and Victoria. The couple divorced in 1991. She remarried. Lisa was dancing and acting in the Broadway Musical 42nd Street up until she became pregnant with her son. Martha Burns said when she cane on As The World Turns she was playing her mother Iva who gave Lilly up for adoption. Lisa was a grandmother of two. I will never forget her on Guiding Light. May she Rest In Peace, along with all of these wonderful people. It's so heartbreaking about all of these deaths. 😭💔🙁😢🙏😔.
Martha Byrne said to Soap Opera Digest that they were best friends and talked to each other daily. Lisa Brown will be missed.
NO MENTION OF TYLO OR CAUSE OF DEATH THIS CHANNEL IS PATHETIC
Thank for sharing the lives of those whom have passed ❣️
May all RIP 🙏
I always thought, if they ever decided to do a film version of Tony Bennett's life, Eddie Mekka could've pulled it off. He had the voice.
6.18: Arlene Dahl...last of the Hollywood's Cinematic Age...end of the era.....R.I.P
Not the big Ragu. You made me go from rags to riches
RIP Stephen Sondheim, Arlene Dahl, Eddie Mekka and all others who passed Nov 2021
You guys missed one in Florida. Carrie Mae Pittman Meek- 95, she served 5 terms in the US House of Representatives. Before that served in several positions in Fl. state politics. RIP to all who have passed on...
They couldn't cover everyone's deaths this video would be hours long.
@@waynek3366 - I got that. But I believe in hierarchy. In other words, someone who served at US Govt level trumps say, a deputy sheriff. People at lower levels were mentioned. One of them could've been left off. That's all...
You also forgot about David doing another movie.Quigley Down Under.
@Debbie Cunningham- I didn't say they weren't doing a good job. You should stop putting a negative slant on things that didn't have one. And I AM putting in work. I just told you about someone you didn't know about 😉.
Thanks E.Duane Mitchell. I wouldn’t have known if you hadn’t added your comment, thanks. I didn’t catch it on my local news or see on the national news either. Thanks!
Btw, I also understand your comment was a ‘kind’ reminder with no ill intent. Folks we’ve gotta
loosen up these days and get the understanding that mentioning ‘misses’ doesn’t mean someone is tryin to attack, be nasty or rude. Come on world, we are better than this, so let’s do it.
Glad to see you mentioned the four students and other dignitaries, they count also. May they rest in peace!!!
I'm guessing just like you they don't give a Shiite about the Waukesha six
“The sad part about dying is, it’s not going to hurt me, it’s going to hurt everyone who loves me, and I’m really sorry about that” my grandad, when he was very ill. And it did hurt….it hurt like mad. I still miss him terribly.
RIP to all the people lost 🌹
IF you're not BORN AGAIN in Jesus Christ I PROMISE you you will feel a lot of PAIN 🔥
So SO sorry to hear of Joanie Shenandoah's passing. I love her music, and have many of her CDs.. Crushing news... 😢
Breaks my heart 💔 May her journey Home be swift and peaceful.
Same.
We have lost so many great and talented people. Not to be forgotten are the four young people who were murdered.
Our lost ones will never be forgotten. Rest in peace always. You are in our hearts.
RIP Everyone. Every week, I'm saddened. Curly Culp was a beast.
Still miss my Oilers! Curly was a beast!!
Very well done 👏🏽. Your acknowledgement of non celebrities was tastefully and respectfully done. ♥️⚘♥️
Our country greatly hurts as we continue to lose the last of the WW2 veterans! They were the backbone of this nation!! I thank God every day for all people, especially our veterans.
"I go from rags to riches!"
What an affirmation!
very respectful post. R.I.P. to all and particularly to those who died young
You missed Mark Roth one of the greatest professional bowlers of all time.
Rabbit proof fence is a book and film which highlights some of the abuses indigenous people face in Australia. The book and film were exam texts in Scotland back in the days of o grades. Well worth watching
Quint & Nola together again 🙏 RIP
I believe they showed Mrs. LeBeau when she turned 102 on the news a few months ago. I was proud of her.
Noooo! Not Lisa Brown! I loved her as Nola. She must have been missing Michael Tylo, who passed just a couple months back. He was her "husband," Quintan Chamberlain.
Oh, no, not David Gulpillil. I loved him in Crocodile Dundee! He was a terrific actor. Now I'm massively depressed. All the good ones are going, and we are being left with trash!
I know, I grew up watching Lisa on The Guiding Light in the 80s.
My sisters got me into watching Guiding Light when I was a kid and Lisa Brown was great as Nola. I remember her and Venessa getting into a big fight. Then in my twenties I got a job in a grocery store in the town she lived in (not on purpose) and she would come in all the time. At first I was star struck but then got used to seeing her. I was in the bakery and a lady in the deli was a huge GL fan and we’d be like there’s Nola shopping today.😄 Sad news! RIP🥲🙏
Also RIP Eddie Mekka 🙏 The Big Ragu
@@broadwayblueshirts6160 my mum got me into watching. That's cool you got to meet her. I quit watching after they broke Fletcher and Claire up; it made me so angry. I haven't watched soaps since I was in high school. That was a loooooong time ago!
@@ecclestonsangel haha I remember that also. I haven’t watched in a long time either. Was fun back then though. That was the only one I watched.
Lisa Brown / Nola's high heels and ankle socks were my introduction to We Can Dress However We Want ☺️
So many great individuals that contributed so much to our great country. May you all RIP & condolences to family & friends. ❤
That is a kind comment.
It hurts to see them go but that's life when you live. May they rest in peace 🕊️
That one guy from the 1970s tv sitcom show Laverne and Shirley pass away. Rest in peace. Eddie Mekka
REST HIGH ON THAT MOUNTAIN ! All nurses owe you thanks & peaceful wishes Unci LeBeau
I would like to say that thay will never be forgotten but with time we all forget sometimes it's like we were never born . May my brothers and sisters rest in peace .🙏🏽✝️😢
Rest in peace for those who have died on the last week of November. You will all be remembered and never will be forgotten. You were all wonderful God Bless all dearly 💐🙏
The world is a little less bright for the loss of these wonderful people. God bless and keep you all xx
A person who is blessed to live to be over a 100 years old is truly a blessing. They must've done something really good in their life. RIP to all these great people that are no longer with us. Life is so precious yet so short. Appreciate everyday that the Lord gives us. I know I do😊😊😊
Comforting thought
Amen. Same here sister.
Always sad to hear this news, Saw Jones pitch a few times. Met Eddie Mekka, what a nice man.
RIP to you all.
Very well presented and nice modulated narration, thank you. May they all rest in peace.
I felt a tear rolling down my cheek when she mentioned the 4 murdered children in Michigan.
But I'm sure you were THRILLED when you remember the six dead folks in Wisconsin
@@donaldleroy6502 What makes you say that?
@@JaleelJohanson62 well, first of all you didn't even mention them and secondly it's in style to despise white people, so if I'm wrong I apologize, my emotions get the best of me sometimes
@@donaldleroy6502 Well of course I don't enjoy hearing about anyone dying. I grew up watching some of those people on TV enjoying their performances as a boy. When it comes to children murdered that's a whole new level of sadness for me. It sticks out. Both black and white people would be well served to judge people by the content of their character and not the color of their skin. Dr. King had it right all those years ago.
@@JaleelJohanson62 I can't argue with that, Merry Christmas and happy New Year to you and everyone
Wow,I can't believe some of these passed. I didn't hear on the news.Thank you for sharing.
God bless George Harrison.
Awe, I loved The Big Ragu. RIP love.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🙏🙏🙏😘
With respect, RIP to the most accomplished individuals I didn't know existed
RIP to the beautiful army nurse of Lakota heritage who gave so much to her native American people and to our Country. Thanks for all your service Special Lady
@THE RENAGADE "It needs more salt".
R.I.P all and thank you for your contribution. Williams will be missed most for me, I remember when he peaked with Damon Hill, who I met, a true British Legend.
He helped make F1 the success that it is.
Great to see David Dalaithgnu …fabulous actor. Will be missed 🐨🐨🐨🦘🦘🦘🦘
You did not mention my friend, musican Billy Hinsche who passed Nov. 20th from lung cancer. His mother Celia dies on the same day. 😢😢💜💜may the both rest in eternal peace.
The Great Abo Actor from Australia was Excellent!! In that culture, it is strictly FORBIDDEN to show the image of any who had died.
So sad. Thank you for the page.
Very nicely put together 🌷.
Marcella LeBeau is a patriot and wonderful human being. May others follow her example.
I'm glad to have learned, if only now, of her long life-saving service to the Lakota and USA.
Drop dead?
@@Scyllax Everyone, including you, will be doing that without the need for a role model.
Thank you and God Bless You for these beautiful tributes. May they all RIP in the LORD's arms from now until eternity.
Thank God you got a lady I can understand! Thank you!!
I just saw a special on ABC last night about West Side Story. I believe Steven Sondheim was a composer for that movie too.
I don't know any of these people, but you know what--I don't like when I hear that anyone died whether they're a celebrity or a nobody. RIP to all of them.
Hey thank you so much. 😊
David Gumphil was FANTASTIC in Walkabout. I just saw him in both that and another movie on TCM last month. They said he made up.the dance in the scene where the Aboriginal young man fell in love with the white teenaged girl played by Jenny Agutter. They also said this film was his first time speaking English. I recognized his photo from one I had seen of him. I lo vfc ed his scenes with Jenny and little Luc, the producer of Walkabouts seven year old son. I loved the fact that he and David communicated through signs.
You do excellent video's. Enjoy watching.
thank you for covering these wonderful lives that we have lost, may they all rest in eternal peace
Eddie Mecca went to high school with one of my friends, he showed me the school yearbook in which he was voted most popular
RIP everyone. I loved the "Big Raggu."
Two Astros had died and the Oilers. I'd remembered Doug Jones. Used to have his baseball card. I'd just heard about Eddie "Carmine" Mekka. I like him. Great actor, great singer. I'd remembered him doing Aquarius after his character had found out he made it to Broadway and what a performance from him and the others. I love it.
Good for you , saying Cleveland Indians and not the Guardians. ♥️
Thank you so much for this wonderful site, all very poignant.
I loved Stephen Sondheim's music. Rip. Mr. Sondheim 🎶
Famous or Not....We were Blessed with Life....We will all be remembered.....Live Life and do good 💜💜💜💜
Not the "BIG RAGU!!" RIP.
Sad to see Eddie Mekka gone. That guy could dance. Blessings to the family members of those who have passed.
He sang his out heart too and he was a solid boxer. His dramatic chops were solid. He was an all-around entertainer
He was convincing as a solid boxer on one episode. Dont know if he really boxed in real life lol
My deepest sympathy for the family and friends fly high with the angels. may God keep his loving arms around them and give them strength to go on bye keeping there memories alive forever
I love your videos, the music makes me think of a Ken Burns documentary, like the Civil War.
So sad about Sondheim! 😢
A brilliant talent that will never be seen again.
My Wells, I thought he was and still is, one of the best actors ever!!!
Don't forget the victims of Astroworld in Houston.
Oh no, I watched her on the guiding light, her beginning character and how she evolved, sorry too know she's gone, FYI, her targeted man died acouple years ago.
Curley! Greatest tackler ever!
I got to be Eddie Mekka’s quick change dresser when he did “West Side Story” at (then) University of Louisiana, Monroe in the 1980’s. He was funny and a great guy.
Condolences to the friends and families who lost loved ones.
Will never forget David Guipili's performance in the apocalyptic film "The Last Wave" (1978)
It's been a year since we lost Sqiggy (David Lander). Now Carmine's gone.
