The R&B world hit HARD this time. RIP to all who have passed on...
Loved all the pictures Sydney Poitier made. What a great actor. My condolences to his family and friends. He will be dearly missed. May he Rest in Peace. 💐
The Love of Ivy wasn't too good.
They forgot Michael Lang, he passed away on January 8, 2022 at 77. He was the co-creator of the Woodstock Music & Art Festival in 1969.
I remember vividly " To Sir, with love.." I n the poverty stricken East London, he brought awareness of etiquette and respect to the raggle taggle students (no easy feat). I always feel like crying when Lulu sang the theme song. Yes, those were the days of good movies.
Goodbye, Mr Tibbs.
One of top ten favorite movies in my book...Judy Geeson sang the song...I love so much...it was a awesome story...on many levels..
Maybe it was LuLu...
Great movie...gritty and realistic.
“Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner “……the best!
Sidney Poitier's picture made me come here. I am really sad at this loss even if he was 94. To many sad losses at once.
In februry he would have turned 95, good age and a long live many will never reach it due to bad poison.
RIP to all that have passed.....I was shocked about the passing of Bob Saget and then Ronnie Spector. Definitely gone to soon.
Sidney Portier a gentlemans gentleman. RIP Sir. Love and prayers from Canada 🇨🇦❤🙏🕊
I had not heard about Dwayne Hickman. Dobie Gillis was one of my favorite shows, all those years ago.
Rest in peace Bob Saget!!! You will always be the best friend and father for all those years!!!! God bless you!!!
Of course everyone must die at some point, but, oh how it hurts to say goodbye to some. With performers who moved you in your soul it is sometimes like losing family or friends. I will miss Ronnie Bennett Spector. So glad you shared so much with us. 🥀💙
He's never had a scandal. Sidney Poitier was a gentleman.
A beautiful man: "they call me MISTER Tibbs": brilliant line & film!!! I could watch them forever!!!
Me too
Sir Sidney Portier was a gentlemans gentleman 👏. From a Canadian fan forever. RIP Sir and Ronnie Spector.
🇨🇦❤❤🙏🕊🙏🕊🌹🌹
Not so, but he was a class act.
@@wilmalanier6425... Don't leave us in the dark. Enlighten us.
Sidney Poitier was quite simply one of my all time favorite actors.
The Defiant Ones
Lillie Of The Fields
Guess Who's Coming To Dinner
In The Heat Of The Night
To Sir With Love
All these movies are still fascinating to watch.
Thanks for the memories Sidney
R.I.P. 1927-2022
Sidney Poitier was my favorite Actor who could perform well at different style of movies very well! He was always at his best! He'll be very sadly missed not by the entertainment world but all of us on this Planet! R.I.P. Sidney Poitier!
I was 10 years old when I saw Lillies of the Field in the theater. Love that movie. He had a lot more hits than misses.
“Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner “…..is the absolute best!!
Loved to Sir with Love 💘
I didn't know about Ronnie Spector's passing. She was so darn cool. When Eddie Money came out with Take Me Home Tonight I recognized her voice immediately. I smile every time that I hear it. Her voice is so sexy. Every year at Christmas I love to hear The Ronnettes sing Sleigh Ride. RIP Ronnie. Thanks for the being part of the best girl singing group ever.
Wish I could have seen her live at Colonial theater when she came to town for a Xmas show
Love Ronnie Spector and the Ronettes. RIP Ronnie From a Canadian fan forever 🇨🇦❤🙏🕊
Veronica Bennett was one of those early pop female vocalist that could rock, Ronnie will be missed
it shows our age, and how much a part of our lives all of these people became
May they all rest in peace. Sidney's death, quite honestly, is the one who hit me the hardest because I truly loved this actor and his amazing work.
Same here: my dad looked like him: such a brilliant actor & also shocked about Ronnie Spector passing too!!! 😍😰😢
Me too. He was my favorite actor.
Sidney Poitier was a GREAT actor. And "Lilies of the Field" was a wonderful movie.
Yes one of the best films
I agree, just rewatched it for first time since I was a child! I loved it! Such a great movie. So heartwarming 💖
And in the heat of the night 1967
a week before Mr. Poitier died i happened across Lilies Of The Field and thought i would just watch a few minutes; i savored every second from beginningto end. again. told a a dear friend and he said he'd just done the same thing, again. Thank you, Mr. Tibbs.
“GUESS WHO’S COMING TO DINNER “……absolutely the best!
I met Ronnie Spector back in 1990 at the bottomline in NYC. I was working as a helper
for the members of the band that were playing for her. I got to hangout with her backstage
and she was cool people. Funny thing I have a pic of all of us clumped up together but
the person who gave me a copy of the pic cut her head off so all I can see is her nose on
down. lol RIP lady it was a pleasure to have met you.
Thank you so much most of them I came up with, I'm 78 and Blessed, I miss all of them.
Man, I'm gutted. Ronnie was my hero, in music and in life. At least she outlived Phil!
Phil spector made Ronnie's life a living hell. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
I cannot imagine why she kept that devil's last name.
@@harperstacey9604 A very insane lunatic, very sadly!!
@@nancymontgomery8897 Because it was famous I imagine: only reason: although she was already very famous & didn't need to?¿ 😕😶
@@lorrainetavares1308 Phil Spector should have been institutionalized years ago. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
Sidney, thanks for the wonderful memories of my mom! I remember watching "To Sir, With Love" and "Patches Of Blue" with the most amazing person, my mom!!!
Ronnie Spector is featured on one of the greatest Christmas albums in history, as well as a great Eddie Money video.
I luv your balanced, informative, unbiased commeñtary.
Sidney , God rest your soul , you were sooooo great !!!!!!
Can't believe Dwayne Hickman has passed away always really liked him rip dwayne
Very much love your channel. It makes me sad to see the people I have watched who have passed. Thank you for doing this difficult job.
I’ve enjoyed Sidney Poitier since he started in To Sir With Love in the late 60s. He is missed. 🇨🇦🙏🏻🙏🏼🙏🏾✝️☝🏻
RIP to all 💐😔
Thank You Legacy 🙋♀️
I thought Sidney Poitier passed away more than 25 years ago because i haven't seen him in anything since sneakers. Still in shock about Bob Saget. That one hit me hard because I grew up watching full house and America's funniest home videos when he was the first host of that show. It was never the same since he left that show. RIP Bob Saget 😔⚰
Poitier was in retirement for a long time. That's why he was rarely seen in later years.
Yes I believe Bob Saget death hit everyone hard because everyone grew up with him as one of their favorite tv dads he will definitely be missed all of these Great artists life is so precious and short an a blessing from GOD let all cherish life please Blessings ✌❤
If he had passed away long time ago the world would have known about it
Aww, how did I miss the passing of Ronnie Spector? Rest in power, lady.
Very nicely narrated!
"My grandma and your grandma, sitting by the fire/my grandma says to your grandma, 'i'm gonna set your flag on fire" The Dixie Cups had a flat out classic with this one.
Iko Iko....I like that song too. I have it on 45 "Going to the Chapel" Side B
was Iko Iko.
@@kimkochel6754 Brilliant: loved them.all!!
Thank you for your beautiful tributes again ❤️. So many wonderful people have left this world, yet left their mark on it. Also, thanks again for half staff memorial tributes as well. God Bless You and stay safe 🙏
Rip to all. Mtume was such a talented man his songs will live on....
Oh Ronnie ;_; please be in peace 🙏♥️🌹 I've loved you my whole life ._.
When I think of Sidney Poitier, I always remember, "My name is Mr. Tipps" Wonderful actor. R.I.P
Sidney Poitier was my favorite actor. I was always proud of the fact that I was born on Mr. Poitier's Birthday ~ February 20. RIP, Mr. Poitier. 🕊⚘
Rest in Peace to the departed and condolences to their families.
Adalia Rose died January 12 at the age of 15. She was a CZcams star with progeria. Flags in Nevada were lowered to honor the memory of Senator Harry Reid.
Peter Bogdanovich such a remarkable spin on life and film, a true pioneer, so unique
His movies are classics. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
@@harperstacey9604 I thought What's Up Doc was pure stupidity. Last Picture show was great. Paper Moon was entertaining, if you don't think about the premise too much.
Sidney Poiter was a wonderful actor and such a gentleman
This is the first time I heard about Sidney Poitier passing sad excellent actor.
Love your voice and narration!
This is a wonderful channel. Thank you for it.
Bob Sagat is being remembered for his tireless work fundraising to find a cure for Scleroderma which took his sister at 47.
Oh, I'm so sad to ear about Dwayne Hickman. I cannot imagine his sweet baby face at 87 years old. Dobie, you did indeed have many loves in early TV, and I was one of them. Is his brother Darryl still with us?
Nancy Montgomery, Yes. Darryl Hickman is still alive. He's 90 years old.
@@judyheath8659That's great to hear. TY.
Sidney Poitier also was in a movie that I was obsessed with called, A Patch Of Blue!!! It was in black and white....and years later I fell in love with a black man and I am white....We were both in the entertainment business...It was in the late sixties, he said it would not work because of the timing, but I did not care..It was not to be...To this day, I have such a special love for him...He has such beautiful qualities...
Thank you for mentioning that movie. It's my second-hand favorite movie of his.
I am absolutely obsessed with “Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner”. That movie was such a feel good movie with such an iconic message for back in 1967! I love it and must have seen it over 100X! Sidney was so handsome, and it was Spencer Tracey’s last with Katherine Hepburn. It was just perfect!
Liked & Subscribed!.... Thank You.
RIP Clyde Bellecourt. Much respect.
Some of these wonderful people I'm not familiar with but some are. I feel in love with Sidney Poitier long ago while watching Lilies of the Field. Loved watching him In The Heat of the Night. R.I.P. everyone.
To sir with love.......Thanks for making your mark here on Earth. I really appreciate these videos because it keeps me updated on those we have lost. Rest in Heavenly Peace.
Hail and hardy faire well to all those who passed. Sidney, you were a class act.
Yes, he was a great actor and my favorite.
my condolence to all those that pass this was so informative i was not aware of so many that has pass thanks for the commentary
I remember most of these people who passed. I am still reeling over the death of Sidney Poitier passing even though he lived to be almost 95. Being that I am going on 76 yrs. young I do remember so many people in the past who died too (celebrities). Time goes by and when your young you don't think about death and dying. I went to High school with Yvonne DiCarlo's
stepdaughter and knew the lady who played a girl who was in love with dobie. She played Zelda (Shelia Kuehl) thru Politics. I never watched shows with Bob Saget in it but I am sorry he passed away. I had such a crush on Sidney Poitier and saw most of his movies too. Rest in Peace everyone.
Sidney Poitier was truly a class act.
No! Not Ronnie. Devastated ...
Gonna miss you Ronnie.
Thank you take care 🙂💓
Dee Booher. Was she the one that Al Bundy has to fight against in Las Vegas in order to pay off the debt?
You had also missed that The Ronettes song was used in the movie Dirty Dancing.
Rest in peace
Mr. Poiter
To Sir Sidney Poitier with love RIP. Shalom Bob Saget RIP. Two real gentlemen untouched by even a whiff of scandal.
RIP Mr. Sidney Poitier who was a huge hero and idol to my dad's generation. At that time, there was virtually no black men on TV or film. Those that were allowed on camera were forced to play criminals or servants to white people. Sidney was one of the 1st black men portrayed on film that was well spoken, educated, well dressed and cultured. When he won an Oscar, it opened the door for other black actors and actresses to play dignified characters and leading men. I have the utmost respect for him and his brilliant career and for influencing an entire generation of black men both in film and in society in general. 🙏
A great man and actor, he had that quality about him when playing any role. Blessing to his family.
I had a chance to work security at the second to last Bob Saget show at the Hard Rock Orlando.
Peter Bogdanovich was a true master of his trade.
Yes, I hadn't heard about him.
Rest easy Chris Dickerson. He definitely was a favorite of mine.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !!!
THANK YOU FOR THE MEMORIES !!!
“They call me Mr Tibs”.
Just to let you know, the anniversary of the passing of Larry Fine of the Three Stooges is coming up (1/24/75).
Aka "the guy in the middle". Love his clown hair. Three Stooges are part of my formative years and "woiled" (world) outlook! 😅
Great actor, always loved his shows
R.I.P Chris Dickerson, always and forever my favorite bodybuilder.
Oh thanks for the video and may the soul(s) of the dearly departed, rests in perfect peace! That goes especially for you Sydney Poitier for that brilliant performance in"To Sir With Love" and how I so wished whilst watching it all those years ago, that I was actually one of your class pupils! Farewell! Khadeeja Alghali-Rahman (London, UK)
Sidney Poitier also played Gregory Miller, in the 1955 movie Blackboard Jungle.
Rip to all who died during this time period
May they Rest In Peace
Fantastic gentleman and brilliant actor and activist
My heart 💕 thoughts through prayers goes out to everyone families I am very sorry for your lost May God comforts All of you in Gives you strength Rest well in Heaven 😇🙏🏽🕊️
I will miss them all expecially the greatest black American actor of all time , Sidney Poitier. He is a immortal icon of classic greatness. It hurts to see my life time actors and singers that I have so many wonderful memories of leave and pass on. God bless them all and may they rest in peace and grace with the love of god.
Oh my we will miss you Bob rest in peace oh well
R.I.P. so sad. They will be missed 😢
James Mtume oh my! RIP! R&B legend! If I’m not mistaken he’s a part of some of Madonna’s music!? (or a member of his band) May have to research it!
Sidney was never in a bad movie ever. People chose to see sages as all American das. Hickman was so stoic on camera.
Loved the movie To sir with love
I don't know who most of these people are but it's so sad, RIP to all ❤️❤️
I totally remember the movie shoot to kill with Sidney, Tom berenger, and Clancy brown. They'll all b missed
Whoa, is Clancy Brown dead?
I may have had one of my first crushes on Sidney Poitier after seeing To Sir With Love
Break a Leg in Heaven Sidney 🤩🙌🏾💯♥️☝🏽✝️❤️💐🙏🏾🌹
Some really big stars in this one ….rest In Peace to All
I was shocked when I heard Bob Saget died I was so upset But I know he is in a better place Rest in peace Bob you will be missed
Most of these people lived a long time. That's something good. Hope they had a relationship with God
Ronnie Spectre was beautiful & talented. She emerged when I was just born. I just couldn't get into her music & raspy, husky voice.
I didn't know Sydney Potier had died. The narrator said he had served in World War II. Okay, so if he was born in 1927, he must have gotten in the service toward the end of the war since he would have only been eighteen in 1945, the year when the war ended.
I think that they could enlist at age 16 or 17 years? I'm in the UK, so I'm not sure??
Some soldiers lied about their age.
Wow on Chris Dickerson. Remember him well. Spector was hot stuff.Rosa Lee my goodness. Love Chapel of Love.
You left out Max Juilen - Actor-Black movies The Mack. And Yvette Minimeux- Actress- Where the Boys Are and so many other popular movies.
Hattie McDonald was the first African American to win an Oscar in 1939.
Respect for all R. I. P.
David Bowie passed away the same year my mom did, I lost her Jan 21st 2016 from ALS :'-( my favorite movie is labyrinth,,, I know I'm a nerd, my mom bought me that movie--VHS, I now have it dvd...
Thank you veterans and those pubic servants they do really serve not like the Rich people Who do nothing for the poor or needy
All of these people lived long and hopefully great lives and I'm hoping they are all resting now. RIP
Never easy to say good bye, may they all Rest wid the BEST 🙏💓💯🙏🇬🇧🗣️😘
Most of all to those that served thank you, and r.i.p . to all mentioned, and I love Sidney Poitier, he helped Jesus carry his cross in the greatest story ever told, one of my favorite movies.
Thank you was unaware of this.
Thank you, I didn't know this.
Della Wright and Darlene Patrick, yes, it was a small part, but a very important part! Mr. Porter went on to become a very fine actor!
All them RIP
