At one point of my musical journey, I would of been considered an Elitist. I just liked what I liked. But as I've gotten older I've realized there's alot of great music out there, and I want to find it! Thank You for bearing with me on the beginning stages of this channel. Feel free to request any song.

I think the best way to describe what artists like Eivor, Wardruna and Heilung do to you is; they make you homesick for a place you have never known...
I feel that
I visited Norway four times and I recognize the homesick feeling.
Yup
Absolutely 💜
Trollabundin means "enchanted", "bewitched" or "spellbound". It is based on Nordic mysticism and the essence of trolls. According to Nordic legends, trolls are small giants and therefore embodiments of natural forces. They are considered to be very talented in magic and also like to enchant people, which is why magic is called "trolldom" in Old Norse.
The song "Trøllabundin" by Eivør is a traditional Faroese folk song about the feeling of being tied to something invisible. The text describes a person who has been enchanted by a magical force that has taken over his heart and soul. The Faroese throat singing in the chorus highlights the feeling of deep emotion and connection that comes with this feeling. Ultimately, the message of the song is that despite the mysterious, invisible power this magical force has over us, we can revel in its beauty and accept our fate.
Lyrics:
"Spellbound I am, I am
The wizard has enchanted me, enchanted me
Spellbound deep in my soul, in my soul
In my heart burns a sizzling fire, a sizzling fire
Spellbound I am, I am
The wizard has enchanted me, enchanted me
Spellbound in my heart's root, my heart's root
My eyes gaze to where the wizard stood"
Someone pointed out what a crazy world we live in. It's just her singing in front of about 40 people on a fjord. There's a camera though, so this has now been viewed over 10 million times all over the world. Wow.
As I said about the last one like this,I love the Tribal aspect. Not to mention, it sounded great PERIOD. Her singing is soul churning.
Soul Churning...great description dude. Hey you on any social medias? I dont know if I asked before, sorry if I have
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody I'm on Facebook,Reddit,X(Twitter),TicTok.
I think the drums kicking was to bring people back, that it went back to the concert and full band.
Saw her a "little bit live" last year, before the Wardruna concert, and I can tell you she sounds EXACTLY like this live!! ❤❤
Eivor is awesome. She is very versatile in terms of genre, and god she can sing.
So true!!!
Eivor is awesome. She is very versatile in terms of genre, and GODS she can sing.
This is the best version of this song!
It was really great
Hallo again 👋
There she is... Eivor ❤
I have been at a concert of her last year in October last year here in Germany. She is a great singer and a nice person too... and has much more to offer. 😊
Thank you. Take care.
Greetings from Germany - Rose - 🌹
thank you so much for being here. I really loved this.
next is falling free live. chills all over
he did it already
I get that. The drums were meant to add something but it kinda took me out too. Great reaction.
That carries you right away. Her voice is so compelling. And, I have to say that the venue just fit the song. Small and intimate and located in the middle of such natural beauty. More please.
Did they record this in the Färör Islands?
Ya the whole venue is perfecr
@@angiewegenerdjmetalamazon4468 No, it was recorded in Norway.
she is unrivaled in everything she does. absolute phenomenal artist.
have you heard of susanne sundfor? no? she needs to be mentioned before aurora and angelina jordan because she is norways best artist, singer, composer. she has so many good songs i'd like to reccomend, like "the brothel" live at cigalle, or "undercover. "when"-album version is gorgeous - almost religious.
but the song which sticks to my memory the most is a feature song for a documentary called "self portrait" about the norwegian fotographer lene marie fossen, who suffered from anorexia since her early age of ten years old. lene was one of the leading artists, doing portraits olnly using a simple camera and natural light. her connection to the portrayed people leads to incredible heartwrenching pictures. she sadly passed away short before the film premiered. it's the most emotional song i know.
Glad you got around to this, this is probably the best performance of the song out there.
Its sooo good! How are you dude.
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody I have tried to give you interesting leads on other music in the comments. I know you get a lot of them and if you tried to listen to everything you'd have to give up working and sleeping and such. I don't think you have played anything from Revamp, though I could be wrong. This is a more metal Floor, just pick a live one off of the tube of you.
Her voice is so primal. If Mother Earth could speak/sing, this is what it would sound like...
Holy shit I love this. So very Nordic. You picked the best version.
That's definitiv not my type of music, but man i love her voice. And look at this scenery! It's freaking awesome...
More Eivør please ❤ you could do "The Last Kingdom" live next or "True Love" live from 2012!
I cant wait to dive into more
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody i would like to add "slor" london solo sessions, "truth" live at studio bloch, "boxes" live 2012, "wake me up" live (a banger!!)
and "gloomy sunday" to this list (she is wearing a suit and a tie, sexy sexy)
she's so skilled ! Each time, my jaws drop ^^
you picked the BEST version of this song! the studio version doesn't have the same otherworldly vibe you can get from recording next to a fjord
Fascinating, I'm sure it has tribal or cultural significance even if i don't understand it. She of course has a great voice. The setting was beautiful as well, you're right the instruments subtracted from what was a mesmerizing performance. Bravo Eivør that was great! TY for bringing it to us Cosmic! ❤ and ✌️
Ya great song. We didnt need the drums. But ya it was a great song.
Oooh yay! This is definitely a different side of Eivor to the last one. ❤
This is amazing
While I do love this version, her performance on The Symphonic Viking Voyage (the concert she did w Einar Selvik and the orchestra) is my favourite. She sounds much more sinister and dark there, which is imo truer to the lyrics.
i cannot decide which i like better. it changes. yeah, she sounds like a troll from the dark side - love it!
One of my favorite songs, especially this video.
Time travel back in Scandinavian history, to the Viking Age.
(But a very different background than in Finland... The musical tradition is very different.)
Okay, listen... you heard her THEN, at the start of her career. You absolutely MUST hear her NOW. She will BLOW YOUR FREAKING MIND. Trust me. I was a singer/songwriter. SHE is all I ever DREAMED to be. Be ready for amazement, chills and tears. Don't say I didn't warn you.
You got a video I should do?
This wasn't really at the 'start' of her career, she been singing many years professionally before this.
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody depending what you are up to. something tribal nordic? something jazz-like? something without tribal elements? higher register? lower register?
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody I highly recommend this song but the live performance she did with Danish National Symphony Orchestra.
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody I highly recommend this song but the live performance she did with Danish National Symphony Orchestra.
Eivør is just amazing!
I saw her in December here in France, she was on first part of the Heilung concert, and she blew my mind!
And by the way, she is SOOOO TALL!! :-0
Trøllabundin = spellbound
Oh to have been there! Nice reaction!
Ah, another one I've got in my playlist. And I agree, the drums weren't really needed in this song. Her drum was enough for me.
Love Eivor, another great artist for you; try Loreena Mckinett singing Dantes Prayer from Night at Alhambra. Stunningly gorgeous.
Moin aus Schleswig-Holstein (damals dänisch, heute deutsch) Ich liebe den Norden Europas. Meine Heimat.

Eivør, Queen of the North 👌 She's amazing 🤟 I didn't like the drum part either .. but still a great video 👍 tx for the react from Québec Canada 🇲🇶🇨🇦🖐️
Much love friend!
First of all: Your reactions really are in a cathegory by themselves.
Regarding the "spellbinding".. That word is a bit flat compared to what really takes place. She (as person singing it) is bound to the sorcery of a galdramadur (= man specializing in galdr , see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galdr, the "ur" at the end is the masculine definite article ) . And galdr is what she is doing/or imitating depending on what you want to believe, during the inhale/exhale episodes. An english translation can be found at czcams.com/video/XmXSE8YNC7k/video.html&ab_channel=M.M%C3%A1ireN%C3%ADSh%C3%BAilleabh%C3%A1 in ... but it gives a very anglified taste of what takes place. Just be aware of that. For example galdrmadur = man of galdr is translated by wizard ... The song really blends perfectly with the norwegian fjord where the performance takes place.
Also the language she sings in is Färöese which is as close to old norse (the common language for all the vikings, danes norwegians and swedes a sort of nordic latin) as you can come nowadays. Thank you again!
you went with the right version! if you would like another incredible performance of the same artist i would recommend her performance at hammersmith czcams.com/video/WT65X0eBTEA/video.html
I'm so pissed with the drum hippie, who ruined the whole vibe.
Eivor is enough by herself. I agree totally. So no added drums is needed.
Yeah that yanks me right out of the primal, meditative state this song induces.
