What difficulty did you find the Hardest? Bioshock's Survivor, Bioshock 2 Hard Mode, 1999 Mode?
Couldn't beat 1999 mode until I got the extra fusions(?) after buying the season pass. And I only did that because I was so close to a platinum, haven't played the game since.
Replay Bioshock and B2 frequently, but not Infinite.
@robertmurdock1848 Bioshock's Survivor, and it's not particularly close. BS2 is cool but insanely easy. 1999 is fun and challenging, but pretty easily doable with a few different setups. Survivor is pretty brutal early on though.
@@DPhoenix237
Nah, in BioShock, I didn't take on the BDs until after I got the crossbow and had done most of the camera upgrades.
That was my first try at survivor and it was easier than taking on the BDs as I found them in subsequent playthroughs.
BioShock 1999 was to easy i did it without these machines first try
Bioshock survivor was easy I just abused the new game plus system, 1999 was up there with pretty hard but that's when I turned to watching guides and tips, bioshock 2 however... I played a decent way in but I unfortunately got frustrated a lot and did the infinite health glitch using scout and the gene bank machine.. do I regret it, yes, but man I really wanted that trophy
I did it a while back. Lady Comstock was pretty hard but I found I got really good at the game very quickly playing this way
Well done Paul!
I completed 1999 mode recently! I think I said this during your recent livestream, but it was such a fun and exciting thing to accomplish.
Regarding Gear, whenever I'd find a voxephone, I would switch to the EXTRA EXTRA hat (I think it's called) which grants you money when you pick up the audio diarys, then switch back to my previous gear after.
Possession on vendors also grants you some money if you're in desperate need of it.
Good luck with your run if you're trying it for yourself!
Nice tip, thanks!
Doing my 1999 run currently, and my favorite piece of gear is the one that makes you invincible when you land from a skyhook/line and when you gain health
Just spam jump during fights and you get s good moment to kill/trap
My advice would be upgrading Possession as soon as possible, this vigor doesn't get enough love especially on this mode. When it's upgraded to have those possessed kill themselves when it wears off, it's a huge help especially against Rocket and Volley enemies as using this to kill them will save you a ton of ammo. My next tip is making sure you have Return to Sender fully upgraded before the final fight at the end and then place RtS traps all over the blue engine (particularly the front) and you can take your sweet time defeating the waves of enemies. By the time I finished the final wave only about 15% of the engine's health was depleted.
Aren’t some enemies not affected by possession? I use it because I love it but I remember it having weaknesses.
I beat the first 2 bioshock's on the hardest difficulty but i haven't gotten around to beating infinite on 1999 mode yet. Good video by the way.
Thank you! And nicely done btw!
One of my favorite platinums I’m hesitant at collectibles in infinite
@@sarriominski3756collectibles I collect on easy. There’s no reason to do otherwise considering how many there are
Broo I literally started the game yesterday. I also loved this channel, new sub
Hope you enjoy your stay!
Erik, this is so damn good. Exactly what I wanted, maestro.
One way to defeat Lady Comstock without the devils kiss trap is to use shock jockey to disintegrate the possessed enemies. Zap them and then shoot them. If their corpses are destroyed then she cannot revive them again. Eventually she will have no backup and can be very easily defeated when no one else is shooting at you.
Charge invincibility upgrade + spamming hailfire at point blank also worked for me. Tunnel Vision helps with this method if you have it, and maybe Angry Stompers too if you're careful with the timing.
What worked for me for most encounters was before a fight I set up a ton of shock jockey traps in a perimeter and just used the undertow upgrade to pull groups of enemies in. Combine with storm, overkill, and ghost soldier and i just point undertow and win. I keep upgraded crows as a backup. Lady comstock fight was easy, set up shock jockey traps but I used upgraded crows instead of undertow, the revived enemies are perma stun locked by crow traps and shock jockey while you focus on killing her.
Cara, que guia bom!
Mesmo meu inglês sendo ruim, consegui entender bem. Tentei zerar no modo 1999 umas 6 vezes a acabei desistindo.. MAS AGORA VAI!! ♥️
Muy bien, mi amigo!
@@TheBioshockHub
A parte mais complicada é a da lady comstock.
Pensa em platinar? Se sim presta atenção nos troféus do 1999 pra não ter de jogar de novo.
I did 1999 mode like 2-3 times now ( I have the season pass thing which kind of makes the run easier unfortunetly) , I do agree with most of your tips except for a couple of things.
1. You don't need to fully upgrade Return to Sender, the most important upgrade is the boost (the one that doubles the duration and decreases salt cost), the other one is less useful, especially if you are not maining the SMG.
Undertow is fun and all but Shock Jockey and Charge practically make it redundant unfortunetly, I would recommend running it though with a Shotgun or a Volley gun (if you like it that much) and preferably with Blood to Salts to offset the salt cost, you do need to fully upgrade this one though to take advantage of the alternate fire.
Undertow fully upgraded makes Downtown Emporia's snipers and enemies in general ( except for Siren fights) a breeze more or less, but you don't need it, Shock Jockey is just as good especially when fully upgraded.
2. I don't fully agree on your choice of gear, they are great picks but if we are being real, Winter Shield is the best piece of gear if you want to make 80% of your run on easy mode, It's not fun but If you just want to finish the run.
Blood to Salts is a very good shirt too, I do prefer it over Winter Shield though.
As for pants, brittle skin is a very powerful piece of gear, especially when paired with charge so you can apply it more easily.
And Overkill for boots.
I do try to keep healing boots and pants on me ( Last Man Standing, Vampire's Embrace) in case I do fuckup or something.
Thanks very good advice!
Welcome!
Good guide
Thank you
Just my personal recommendation for dealing with Beasts. Hit them with Possession ASP. Beasts are tanky as all hell and carry a heavy weapon. Trying to whittle down their armor uses a ton of ammo and takes time. If you Possess one they can do some damage to other enemies and then kill themselves. A win win. sm
That's true as well. Same thing with Turrets too.
Same with Firemen. They're almost always within a large group and should be able to really do some damage before the effect wears off.
The amount of people ive watched play this and never use Devils Kiss is crazy. Probably my favorite Vigor/Plasmid of the whole Bioshock series.
Devil's Kiss is so damn useful, especially on 1999 Mode. I love it.
I'm currently tackling my first Hard Mode playthrough as kind of a way to prep myself for 1999 Mode, which I want to try afterwards, and you are so right about needing to change up your play style! I hardly ever used the sniper rifle in my first three playthroughs, but playing on Hard Mode has forced me to play much more tactfully than before and actually keep the weapon on me longer - but on the flipside, I think I'm finally getting better with it! lol Thanks a lot for the video - some really helpful stuff there! :)
No problem at all! If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask. I'll try my best to help you out!
@@TheBioshockHub Thank you! Actually, you might be able to help me on a different matter. I had just recently bought the physical Xbox 360 copy of Bioshock Infinite: the Complete Edition (with the 3 DLCs on a separate disc); thing is though, the main game on disc one plays fine, but whenever I put in the second disc, I keep getting this message that says my Xbox 360 doesn't have enough memory space to apply the update needed to play them, but it's not telling me *how much* space is needed, and I can't seem to find that information anywhere online - so I don't know how big of a memory card or hard drive I need to get. Do you have any idea about how much space is needed for it?
@@EponineGraydeChagny Do you know how much storage you have on your 360?
@@TheBioshockHub It's an Xbox Arcade and I believe it's one of the 500mb models. However, only around 100-200 storage space seems to actually be available - even after clearing my cache and getting rid of older game saves. I read in the manual something about the update requiring 256mb, I believe? I'm just not sure how to clear any more space on the console itself, so I'm assuming I just need to get a 256mb memory card to get the needed space...unless I'm missing something...
@@EponineGraydeChagny It should be working just fine then. I wonder if there's an issue with the disc itself, or if there's hidden save files taking up a lot of storage
Woah I was searching for bioshock vids and thought this would be a good one as I have never beat the 1999 mode (even tho inf is my least favorite) I would still love to have the challenge under my belt, but damn I'm early
You got this, I believe in you!
I like 1999 mode so much. And generally this mode is fun and easy for challengers. All points in this video is really accurate and sort of how I played it.
One tip: use possession on the vending machines to always get a quick buck fix
2: have all locations of infusions remembered
3:exploit your weapons range
Most of these tips are small things but huge. The weapons is always fair to upgrade. Start with the pistol then smg then shotgun then your presence of what ever weapon would be good. Super useful vigors in generally possession to self kill enemies charge for shield and return to sender to protect damage. Undertow is a life saver when you can’t fight. That’s really it from my experience to which I really enjoy and hopefully anyone who sees this tries this out as well as this videos tips.(such a favorite game mode)
I’ve completed the Scavenger Hunt challenge twice but honestly my playthroughs were probably a lot more painful than they needed to be because I’m married to the carbine and hand cannon.
That's completely okay!
@@TheBioshockHub nothing is more fun to me than using the Crow/Shock Jockey combo with the Gear that stuns other enemies when you do overkill damage. Just go from headshot to headshot with the Hand Cannon and you can immobilize/disintegrate a group in seconds.
Happy new year TBH.
Yes, i achieved it on 360 and on the remastered version.
My way:
Change your gear pieces very often to adapt to any situation, exemple you ran out of ammo, or salt...
Your best friend is the "Possession" Vigor, and by the end "Undertow" is also a must as you will have countless occasions to just throw ennemies out of Columbia wich is fun to see.
In the last fight *SPOILER ALERT* where you can use Songbird, make a "Tram rail" build with the gear parts, specially the "Winter Shield" combined with "Death From above", soon as you get in danger jump on the rail and down, you will be invincible.
Then make sure to possess the Patriots regularly, they will stop shooting at the power plant, use songbird on Zeppelin and ships exclusively and as soon as possible, never waist time on ennemies.
One of the most crucial tips: play on PC where you can aim properly.
thank you brother im planning to get my platinum trophy on PSN on its 10th anniversary!!!
I recommend putting most of your upgrades to your salts. Shock Jockey is amazing. Especially if you pair it with vigor chain clothes.
That's fair. I just really enjoy that safety net of the extra shield. Both are really good choices.
You should do a full blown walkthrough with commentary
Bioshock 2 imo was the hardest out of any bioshock game
I completely forgot about 1999 mode also speaking of bioshock infinite I got a boys of silence figure for my birthday:D
Happy belated Birthday buddy!
@@TheBioshockHub :D thanks
Video suggestion: What if Ryan listened to McDonagh? EDIT: Thank you for hearting this comment even though I got Bill's name completely wrong.
No worries, I kinda figured who you were referencing
Surprised blood for salts isn't mentioned as an equipment recommendation.
Can you do a video on the firemen? I find them interesting and would love to see a vid on em
Here you go! It's just after the Handyman.

@@TheBioshockHub I didn’t see that but thanks!
Personally, I only play 1999 Mode, Scavenger Hunt. Not just for bragger's rights, but because I think refraining from buying supplies is the ideal way to play the game (saves money for upgrades and respawns). Personally, I think that the upgrades and the respawns did great harm to the game, but the combat, especially on 1999 Mode, can be very addictive and creative. I hope more people realize that one day.
A couple recommended tactics of mine are:
Combine Rising Bloodlust with Brittle Skin, then use Charge and Shotgun. Enemies will get weaker as you keep getting stronger. It's especially helpful in Comstock House.
Combine Health for Salts with Vampires Embrace, Burning Halo, and Blood to Salts. When facing large numbers of enemies, using these Gear with Charge gives you a near limitless supply of Salts (you can keep spamming Charge, and if you run out, you'll just use your health, which will restore if you kill an enemy with Charge).
Combine Return to Sender with Ghost Posse/ Ghost Solider. Attacks with Return to Sender are considered Trap attacks, and cost significantly less, so combining it with these Gear change it into, effectively, a turret-dropping power, which can be insanely helpful against Patriots (attack an enemy behind them with Sender, and their gun will turn on the Patriot's gears while the Patriot is firing on you.
That definitely sound interesting and honestly, quite refreshing. I might have to give it a go.
I go shotgun, sniper, possession, and return to sender. Even without gear it's a lethal almost brain dead play style.
Hello! So, remember when I asked you on stream what scene you would like seen in an animation format? Well, I almost finished with the plane crash BUT I forgot to save it, so I need to restart. :(
Take your time!
@@TheBioshockHub ok. :)
3:53 what do you mean, unless you reload a checkpoint? Haven’t attempted 1999 mode yet but researching to see if it’s worth the grind and headache
When you get to the graveyard and have the first fight with Lady Comstock and if you die, you're able to reload the previous checkpoint to get your health, eve and resources back.
So if you die before that without money you have to start from scratch? Is it possible to restart last checkpoint before your about to die each time or no?
@@genericname6 I believe so. I'd just make sure to save money as a just in case.
Let's be honnest. 1999 mode isn't fun, but damn is it an ego trip when you've done it. Its also super unbalanced. The game is really not made for it. Its impossible until you find Elizabeth. Then it's annoying. Lady Comstock is luck. Just running from the place you spawn to the stairs, you will die, and then you'll run-out if ammo. Rinse repeat until you get lucky. If I can add snything to what Erick ssidbeich really helped me during the zeplin fight is that, anything with even a little bit of invincibility, you want to take it over almost anything. Also, speed boosts tons of speed boosts and peak when the enemies are reloading. Also. Never shoot turrets. Always vigor them. Genuinely no use in shooting.
I did beat infinite 1999 mode. And it was hard
Took me a few years and a couple of tries lol.
Ah yes , mode 1999 , also known as constant anxiety mode
Winter shield is the best gear for 1999 mode
Definitely an underrated one for sure.
I only play in 1999 mode
Very good advice here 👍
Thank ya!
Original idea for 1999 Mode was a lot more interesting and was actually challenging instead of you just getting way less health, less respawns, slower shield recharge and all the enemies being literal bullet sponges. 1999 Mode is such a disappointing game mode.
I could barely beat it on easy!
Work your way up in difficulties, I promise you can do it! I believe in you.
so you just spit out some items without telling us which type to use exactly??? NOW I SAY IF I WANTED SOLID DAMAGE BUILD but im not in a hurry to end the game. what gear and vigors should i use??? I want that high output damage that you can think of. I wanna end this 1999 mode already. I wanna platinum infinte alreaady.
I did Platinum Infinite on the PS3, didn't struggle that much in 1999...
However..... my old warrior PS3 bugged and I lost all trophies of the game 🤡
I complelty deleted Lady Comstock with charge + burning halo
I played tatically" most of the time, but when I could avoid combat I just past by some combat sections whenever the game allowed me to, for exemple the first handyman I said screw him and rushed to the goodtime club
2023 make it our finest year yet
or you could also go with ammo advantage which is much better then bullet boon, ammo advantage increases your ammo by 75%
Как же черт возьми жалко,что я не знаю английский язык, мне очень нравится биошок,и ты выпускаешь видео о нем на постоянной основе, если тебе не сложно, можешь пожалуйста делать субтитры?
