It is said that The National Anthem Was Set to the Tune of a British Drinking Song. ... Although Francis Scott Key penned the words in 1814 during the War of 1812, the melody is actually much older. It's based off an 18th-century British pub song called "To Anacreon in Heaven." I have no problem with that.

Nice post. R.S. is truly "World Class" ! & one of the ONLY players(of solo instrumentals) I'm aware of, that is even "better"(in many aspects) than Tommy Emmanuel(who holds the crown for solo acoustic guitar entertainer imo).

Tabs would be much appreciated. From the perspective of an observing student, it's hard to tell precisely where he's putting his fingers of his left hand. That's what tabulature is for.
Choppy. Needs a lighter touch. Perhaps it might be more playable if more single notes were judiciously inserted to allay the need to finger another four note chord so quickly. Still, he's playing something I can't play, so ...............respect.

I think it would be instructive to lay out the accompaniment chord pattern. My wife did not play guitar. She was 73 years old and she convinced a guitar teacher to teacher blackbird. I begged her not to do it and I begged him not to do it but they did it and she wound up playing black bird as badly as anybody could play it but note for note without any idea that there were cords or patterns so that nothing that she learned was instructive for learning anything else. She just had memorized fingers. That’s the way I learned 60 years ago and I don’t think it’s the way to learn. I think people should learn patterns like 145 and how those patterns can be played in different keys and what a scale is. By listening to songs that the teacher plays and ask the student to close her eyes and say when the IV happens when the one comes around again when you go to a seventh of the five. The feeling of a seventh in the five and the feeling of the seventh in the one. I didn’t have that advantage and I’m embarrassed at how long it took me to figure that out. You can use campfire songs to do that. What do you think?
