    Remarkable seeing so many types of trucks all together. I live in Europe and we only ever see cabovers here - not that I'm complaining, certainly have a soft spot for Scania especially - because streets are far too narrow most places to get around with bonneted trucks. The W900 is now such a classic truck, I don't think I would enjoy the turning circle on that thing but beautiful to look at for sure.

    Kiwi mates driving US inter-state in semi's 20 years back, were only hauling 37T max. At the time, NZ drivers were hauling 44T max on semi's, truck & trailers and B-trains. For a number of years here in NZ, that weight has shot up to 50T plus.

      There are lots of Jap trucks in NZ. In fact, Jap trucks are the unsung workhorses of most of the NZ light and medium haul fleet. The decision by Japanese truck manufacturers not to dominate the heavy haul scene as well, was a combination of not wanting to upset the Yanks (who'd already shut Japan out of the worldwide computer market), but also a sound and pragmatic commercial decision.

    @tntfreddan3138 Před rokem +1

    Yep, Europe has all the style and all the muscle. At least Sweden does, since the only factory built, mass produced trucks with over 700hp are made by Swedish companies. And tbh, Volvo and Scania just look the best, as well. MAN has also started making more good looking trucks and they also make an engine with quite respectable 640hp. Never liked Mercedes, and their 625hp V8 produces about as much torque as a Scania V8 with 40hp less. Iveco, Renault and Daf also fall behind when it comes to engines. Iveco might have an engine that produces 570hp, but the new Volvo D13K500 engine has 70hp less but beats it with 100Nm of torque. The majority of the trucks I see broken down on the side of the road up here are Iveco, Renault, Mercedes and Daf. You'll also see a couple MAN trucks but there are very few Scanias and Volvos borken down up here, if you take into consideration that 70% of all trucks registered in Sweden are Volvo and Scania.
