Do You Mess With The Wall?
Even though she is a prominent DC character, I *still* feel like she is underutilized. Curious to see how this will all pan out (and if a secret "real" villain in the shadows will be revealed).
I miss her being a shadowy government operative who was just evil enough to sacrifice super criminals for the greater good. I hate seeing her as a Luthor level threat.
I miss the Wall as a anti hero ally that's sometimes an adversary...this needs to be better than the game version of her, I hope.
I remember the old Ostrander Suicide Squad days, when she had more personality than "hates Supers, is a power-abusing bureaucrat." After her speech in this issue about supers being children who throw tantrums and cause more problems than they solve, I'm really hoping that one of the trinity gets to show up in her face towards the end, when Failsafe and this "Brainiac Queen" have obviously made everything horrible, and tells her, "You've been jealous of our power for a long time. Well, congratulations. By your own description, you're a superhuman. Few people's tantrums have caused more misery than yours just did."
At the end of the event, we’re going to see humans in the DC Universe with t-shirts that reads :
“The Wall Was Right”.
Superman loosing his powers or as we Superman fans call it - Tuesday
He really should be more prepared for it by now lol

@@kermitgotthesickkicks4265 It's because it would make Batman look useless.
I say DC even hates Superman for being strong with how much he gets his butt kicked.
If I see a superhero killing people for no real reason, my first thought is going to be "What is it this time? Shapshifter, mind control chips, or demonic possession?"
Yes this plot point just doesn't work anymore after it was done for the 50th time.
At this point should the population be more afraid of getting Starroed them self.
Honestly after all those stuff, its understandable how the public got so easily convinced by just some ai pictures.

" AI destroys Superman". But enough about the state of the comics industry. What happens in the comic?
Yeah, I was thinking from the title that DC had given up on their writers and artists and this was going to be an all-AI produced series. I got kind of excited. I mean, really, could a computer program do a worse job?

Telling us that Oliver Queen has joined with Amanda Waller is less convincing than showing me they just killed Superman.
Yeah, that's nonsensical.
I also don't really know what they're doing with that "reveal". Like he's stated in his run leading up to this (which has been one of the most tight leading up to absolute power) that he's in it for the long con. Like for this to be shocking that'd mean they'd have to expect a group of readers to have not been reading recent Green arrow comics, which feels kinda malicious. It's not like this is gonna be some big shocking reveal. We've already learned Ollie isn't fully with Waller along with a lot more information in his dawn of DC run.
@vullord666 Yeah I figure he's working from the inside and doesn't feel like he'll make it out alive, considering he left everything to Roy. With Ollie's history, I don't see why Waller would accept his concession.
Well if you know waller she most likely kept suicide squad bombs on ollie's son or some shit like that.
DC needs to cool it with the events.
The year is 2035. DC Comics has a Big Event that turns canon upside down and reboots the universe every month. Every issue published is the first issue. The Green Lantern mythos sails on, seemingly unaffected by the reset.
Earth blockaded and the Guardians so casually and the GL's just ignore it? How does that work?
@@nctpti2073 Have you been reading recent Green Lantern comics? That's its whole own thing. Basically the Guardians haven't been in charge for a while and the new lantern corps is sus af. Plus Earth has been quarantined kinda because it faces so many reality ending crisis events now (😂).
Seriously, what happened to good old filler. I'm fine an event like beast world and that having consequences, but yeah no promising to change the status quo for the billionth time in the past 4 years isn't something I'd be proud of. It'd be like a free to play video game saying "we promise we have a battle pass, lootboxes, and so many micro transactions you'll vomit! Smiley face 😊"
@@vullord666 So basically, just another DC second Tuesday.... got it....
That's what happens when most of your mythos is space based, and thus far away from anything happening on Earth.
Superheroes getting beat up by a mob of normal people never not gets upsetting. Like, how an alternate version of Beast (even gets killed by them), Emma in New X-Men with a brick, Spider-Man during a Mutant mob, and now Animal Man... I get not wanting to attack them, but there's defending yourself and then moving out the way and escaping. Always bothered me...
Anyway, you hit the big 200k Sasha! Way to go! Welcome to the club!

This. Like it's such a tired sympathy move. I both don't care much to see it anymore and don't believe it. I'm now just frustrated at the belief people are that stupid on several levels (both in believing fake news, immediately choosing violence (like God, actual criminals don't get assaulted in the streets by avg Joe's), and thinking they can beat a superhero with a baseball bat).
This also happened to the Human Torch during the first marvel civil war.
With the fact that Waller is still in cahoots with Trigon of all people I don't see this working out for her in the long run.
Ofcourse it won't
She got away scoot free after trying to manipulate Ultraman, I'm sure she will come up with something here too. Waller's plot armor can be as big as Batman's sometimes
I mean, it's Waller. In the end, she's going to fall, and it'll be SOOOOOO satisfying.

I like the design of Queen Brainiac, it’s like The Cenobites meet The Borg
Very much so!
So . . . the Borg Queen then? She had such sight to show Data.
Its really concerning that Brainiac KEEPS RECURRING AS A VILLAIN in different forms, even some from the future, Despite the knowledge that EVENTUALLY it gets reprogrammed and becomes a hero... Yet They've Completely ignored SO MANY other great characters.
They do so many Alternate timeline comics, including ones with the heroes being truly evil, but even then Many are left out. Then, when they get bored with the big two, and the various Sub-cast comics, They just Reboot again.
This is why I prefer Marvel to DC. I mean yeah, they do the same thing, but are less annoyingly frequent in doing so.
In the current run, I'm not sure if classic Superman Villains such as Metallo even exist, let alone Spinoff Heroes like Steel. (They seem to have forgotten Our Black Superman ever existed...)
Yet here they are, Amanda Waller and Yet ANOTHER Brainiac... so... how will this somehow lead to ANOTHER DC Reboot? Because WE ALL KNOW ITS COMING.
Sorry but "Cenobites meet The Borg" is just giving me Futures End flashbacks and Black Canary's face sewn onto Frankenstein's chest. The only surprising thing is this NOT involving Brother Eye for a change (even though Brainiac was a god in that cannon but I'm not keeping track anymore).
Queen brainiac vs ultron’s wife (jocasta? I think). Fight.

At best Waller works as a background character. She can't carry her own series.
Reckon it'll get to four issues before it's cancelled?
She's also "protecting" the citizens with a bunch of robots and only allowing visuals of "Superman's attack" supplied by her. I was watching this video and thinking that it was sounding identical to the intro to this last weeks episode of MAwS.
@@kevinsuarez8949 Absolute Power should end with the heroes defeating Waller in a dance-off
@@Future_Vantas 😂😂 why not?
Yeah doesn't Superman get depowered and jobbed out almost every summer these days? And then the BatGhod Swoops down to say the day.
Ummm...I literally can't remember when I last saw such a thing. Waid does a great job of balancing the two in World's Finest (unsurprisingly given how much of a Superman fan he is), there is no current Justice League book for them to interact in, Superman hasn't lost his powers recently in the Superbooks, and has been consistently saving the day himself (with his supporting cast, of course) against The House of Brainiac, a Czarnian army, Bizarro, the Lex Luthor Revenge Squad, Terra Man... It's the same in Superman & Lois and My Adventures With Superman. He's faded to the background a fair bit in the direct to video animated movie universe that started with Man of Tomorrow (I haven't seen the Crisis on Infinite Earths trilogy yet), but gives a good showing when he is in the forefront.

Congrats 🥂
🎉Thank you kindly for being here :)
There is a justice league episode this reminds me of so much
The general turning himself into a super to stop the Justice league but ultimately just hurting people himself
Amanda is doing the same, taking huge amounts of power and justifying it that supers could be a threat. So in stopping them from doing harm, she actually causes harm. Only difference is, she isnt a potential harm, she is already a proven harm
You cannot fight fire with fire, you just get more fire. And Amanda is just making the world burn with her hypocritical logic
So if you can create an army of unstoppable robots and remove powers, why not stop villiany first then come after the heroes?
Answer: because its not about safety or justice, its about power and being right
Ollie holds views, but he isnt helping people on this side, he is just hurting people in a way he is justifying
Same with Amanda and Steele
In other words, Ollie is doing exactly what he is accusing the superheroes of doing.
@@simonmagid4205 100%, he is saying F for effort in terms of systematic improvements. He is literally doing less than helping other people but actively causing them to be afraid and violent
So how many times in DC and they're related media have we seen this storyline?
How many times has waller or some governments agency done this "who watches the watchmen" gimmick only to be worse than what they are trying to fight against?
Sounds like DC could use a "endevor still fighting" moment like in MHA.
Yeah this feels so creatively bankrupt. Even worse reading Wally's flash run leading up to this. It's yet again him feeling isolated and tired and being manipulated by the bad guys to do evil... like we haven't been doing this since he returned in rebirth. Literally went back to titans rebirth and Donna has a great line "Always pushing yourself too hard because your friends needed you. When what your friends NEEDED was for you to be alive." And then that was yet again the premise of heroes in crisis and all that quantum leaping stuff and not to mention flash war and everything with the mobius chair. I was really excited when toward the end of the last flash run and after the Quantum leaping stuff Wally had this "Zen" personality and it actually felt like he learned from his experiences and his very very unique perspectives gave him a new positive outlook on life... and yet here we are again for the zillionth time.
I just wonder how long has this been in the making? Cause the whole "A.I. spreading fake videos around" started in Batman: "Fear State" event a few years back with Batgirl (Cass) being framed for murder (which got swept under the rug).
I just can't with these huge events. If it gets good buzz, I'll pick up the omni. I'm not messing around with trying to know which tie ins to get.
Seems kind of ridiculous that Amanda Waller could do all that. Feels a bit like using a cannon to kill some flies.
Or a fly trying to take down a cannon.
She somehow counter the Spectre. The vengeful haand of God Himself. And apparently she's going after the wizard Shazam, the same one who is shown to be a peer to people like High Father and the Phanton Stranger. Because she can do that I guess...

It's like a story I read in Justice League (?) where in the future all the heroes were depowered and then enslaved or killed, until one was sent back in time and changed it all.
All the superpowers? So, you have magic, super science, technology, intense physical training, even the supernatural, and you manage to negate all these disparate powers and abilities?
I'm going to call bullshit on that.
It doesn't matter how many people Waller has on her side, there are some heroes who are just beyond her ability to touch.
@@oliveragag8576
*spoilers*
Maybe she got her hands on the spear of destiny and used that somehow? Her big advantages just comes from her managing to use/blackmail far more powerful and often smarter people. She has inside knowledge of the League from Green Arrow, knowledge of the future from Dreamer, knowledge of time travel tech from Time Commander, lucked into finding the Brainiac Queen, and so on. The American government did already know about the spear after all (see the Ostrander Mandrake Spectre series #'s 21 and 22).
I don't know if it was depicted in other tie ins but I did laugh a little to my self when Amanda Waller was like "we blocked off the timestream, we made a deal with the space people, and we closed off all the multiverses." I'm sitting over here like, you can do that shit? Just close off time travel? And Amanda Waller can do it? Why the hell did no one block the multiverse before? We could have prevented so much.
Yeah a lot of these seem extremely far fetched.
This actually made me interested in Jon for the first time since he was aged up. I hope that they are doing a double agent thing with Ollie. Also I love how this is showing just how terrifying waller can be.
Not the only way AI is fu$#@ing with DC's Superheroes
I thought "Absolute Power" comes from the phrase, Absolute power corrupts absolutely, so I thought Waller fears the Justice League will abuse their power, but as far as I know, there is no hint that Superman, Batman, or WW are abusing their power, especially in recent/current stories. So in my mind, it sounds like Amanda Waller is the real one who is being corrupted by power.
However, BROTHER EYE is/was also AI. Cyborg is also half AI I'm pretty sure. The Metal Men and Red Tornado are both robots. Are they not better versed to "combat" artificial intelligence? Moreover, AI has existed in the DC Universe for years, and only now is Waller using them to "misinform" the world? And to what end?
Maybe the twist is that Brainiac Queen & Failsafe are the real ones in charge and they manipulated Waller into being their human avatar to take down Superman, Batman, and the rest of the heroes. Waller has always disliked superheroes, so the AI misinformation is just manipulating her to take action against what she believes to be true.
Amanda Waller was stuck on Earth 3 in some previous stories. Her sudden heightened paranoia comes from seeing Ultraman and the rest of the Crime Syndicate in action.
I noticed on my digital copy that the panel showing the Justice League International in London, Elongated Man is listed along with the other Leaguers shown, but for the life of me I cannot find him
I'm pretty sure he isn't in that panel (unless he is drawn behind the speech bubble), but he is shown with them when the Amazos attack.
He's with the team later, but yeah- I also could not find him in that panel introducing the team. He does seem to just be off-panel in the first shot.

@@CasuallyComics I would like for him to eff up in this story and it actually having consequences, though that may be a bit much to wish for.
I dont know if its on purpose and i kind of doubt it is but it really fits in with Oliver Queen's personality to hear "AI art can't replicate human emotion" and fully extrapolate that into "Computer's can't do anything as well as human." I genuinely love that his character is the world's most narrow-minded and blinkered liberal it makes him very interesting and leads to really neat character interactions
"The Titans seizing military power in the name of "heroism" fighting a worldwide crisis THEY were responsible for" Literally "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam".
Lmaoooo true
Really only interested in this for Jon and what they might do with him. And I think you're onto something with the concern that this even will feel condensed if you're only reading the core issues. It's kinda absurd that Absolute Power the series only has four issues, but the event has 20+ tie-ins
I mean, that's how events like this often are set up. See: War of the Gods, Invasion, Zero Hour, Crisis, Armageddon 2001, Millennium, Legends, Eclipso: The Darkness Within, Final Crisis, Dark Crisis, Day of Judgement, Bloodlines, Last Laugh, Infinite Crisis, Dark Knights Metal 1 & 2...tie-ins generally outnumber main series issues by a wide margin.
You cant hack the whole internet without taking over the 7 keys to the internet. This is how it works in real life. There are 7 keys to all internet protocol that sit with 7 real life people. I swear it the pendulum swings back and forth on whether sups should act on real-world issues. The Authority is said to be tyrants one story then necessary the next.
The writers can't seem to agree on what stories they want to tell with them. I personally liked that Squadron Supreme story from back in the 80s where they tried to do the same thing. The Squadron wasn't being tyrannical as much as they kept screwing up in well-intentioned ways. And then it all fell apart in the end.
@@simonmagid4205 That's story a classic, but a good modern substitute would be Jupiter's Legacy by Mark Millar. The superheroes overthrow the US gov't and kill/imprison any heroes who oppose them. I feel like the most important back story for this event will be Waid and Mora's World's Finest arc where Batman and Superman deal with Amazos
Green arrow: "i'm on the right side of history"
History: Animal man is on a coma; Superman was shot in the chest; Atom is MIA
The comic scene here between Green Arrow and Batman reminds me of when he confronted Superman during the JLU cadmus ark basically saying: "look I'm an old lefty, the government must do what the people cannot and they sure can't defend themselves against the likes of you". Enjoyed the video, looking forward to a follow up about how this event pans out!
Making the average person afraid of superheroes taking over has been around since the crisis, since Darkseid was trying to win a bet with the phantom stranger. It's a common story troupe and I always expect to see Glorious Godfrey somehow turning up anti-superhero sentiment in an Alex Jones sort of way.
The idea of people falling for the fake "evil super heroes" footage gimmick is pretty fun on account of all the times super heroes have turned evil. Or even just, you know, "evil".
I can just imagine a panel of someone trying to defend the heroes and their buddy turning to them and going "I dunno. Remember that time Wonder Woman snapped that dudes neck on live tv? And what about the green guy? What's his name? Parallax? Why was he even allowed on the Justice League?!" leaving their friend with no real rejoinder.
Ok ok. I'm not sure the average person on the street knows about Parallax but you get my point.
Oh and the Animal Man panel gave me Devilman flashbacks. That comic has the grand daddy of "The people are fickle and will turn on you in a second" moments in such a crazy way that I do sometimes struggle with other media doing the same angle. No one commits to it as hard as Go Nagai did.
Which is totally unfair and entirely on me but there ya go :D
This could have a very interesting ripple effect on the younger heroes in the future. Animal Girl sees her father attacked by the town they protect, she might be less inclined to help them unless it's a major situation.
We are probably gonna get all number ones, after this event ends.
Am I going crazy or this is the Legends event from 40 year ago? Villian makes heroes look bad, Waller creates suicide squad... Its like a strange remake.
Everyone was so focused on Act of God that we missed this. Seems like it might be an intentional parallel.
Yeah, I've seen people mentioning this. I was interested in the tease of a "Ultimate style DC Universe" however, after reading the FCBD issue, it feels more like a "Dark Reign" type line-wide direction, not a new DC-verse with a clean starting point.
This story really feels like something marvel would have made. Seriously if you told me maria hill and an AI version of Ironman teamed up to make the public hate hero’s and then make them lose there powers I would have thought they already did that.
Honestly, even people in the Marvel universe should just assume that Skrulls or a mind controlling supervillain are at it again.

Sasha:: "Hopefully the aftermath isn't a hot mess." Silver Age fans: "We've been saying that since Crisis on Infinite Earths." And: "Oh well, at least we have CW TV reruns of the Arroweverse."
Your Batman voice always cracks me up😂😂😂
I'm firmly on the anti-event comics side so this entire story can bite my shiny metal ass. Aside from just being annoying events barely do anything for the brand itself because the short term sales spike is only from collectors who come for the event comics and nothing else.
But something irritating I've been seeing for years now is that Waller has just become Lex Luthor. Every single one of her schemes is just something DC would've used Lex for in the past. She doesn't really have anything unique to her and really she should return to being a small side character like she's always been.
Agreed, if she can just do all of these things, why not just wipe out all of the supervillains and push for greater and greater government oversight over superheros until they either retire or give into her demands?
At least with Lex you have the excuse of him having a hate boner for superman and wanting to purge anyone who could actually stop him from becoming the godemperor of mankind.
I'm still mourning the loss of nuanced antihero Waller

@@CasuallyComics Oh, my word 😆 🤣 Thank you!
People are worried the themes of AI and disinformation will date the work? I say, _let_ them. Comics have always been a manifestation of the times they were written in - including contemporary fears and anxieties - and to me that's a big part of what makes them interesting. You can look at a decades-old comic book and learn things about society in times past that you'd never pick up from any history book.
Awfully nice of Green Arrow to announce over Batman's channel that he's changed sides and there's no escape, rather than simply waiting for Batman to try to reorganize the escaping heroes and picking them up at whatever emergency safe house he chose. Now Amanda and Failsafe will be sure to blame Oliver for the heroes abandoning the channel the Bureau could use to listen in on them, right? But it's so much easier than coming up with any reason why somebody might directly contact Green Arrow and trigger his infodump. Or just have somebody in the Bureau mention that stuff to someone else. Or mention it in narration. Anyway, now the Bureau's targets know a lot of what Waller's done to block them and which channel they can't use to communicate without her listening in, all because Oliver decided that was a good time to expose their advantage to Batman. That's . . . either it's lazy writing, or Oliver Queen is damned lucky he wasn't outwitted by every organized criminal group he ever fought.
Or if they are using good writing, it's a sign that he's a double agent that's working to undermine Waller.
@@bencox3641 I did think of that. Of course, if that were the case then the heroes would have already done things to protect themselves from being attacked by Amazos, would have already set up backup measures to keep blocked-off escape routes open, etc.
Unless . . . his mentioning all the locked-off paths was meant to tell them where they could go by neglecting to mention something still available. Can anybody think of a resource the JLA had that wasn't mentioned in GL's "we won" message?
If the sanctuary technology ends up freaking out and takes out waller and becomes a threat in absolute power on the other hand I don’t know 😮
Just wait until some villain shows up that Waller can't beat because she took all the powers away from the heroes. Then she'll be up shit creek.
If I may, someone said this perfectly on Twitter or Reddit, it is hard to get into this event, not only because it’s another event, but because we know Waller isn’t gonna get arrested or suffer true consequences. She does all this stuff only to get what we all expect will be a slap on the wrist. And it gets tiring.
Ollie's 'betrayal' really does feel like a psyche - as another YTer notes, he gives the JLA way too much critical info - like revealing that Waller has access to their secret communications channel (which he gave to Waller, so a bit of ambiguity - but would buy him some cred with Waller, so...). If he was actually on Waller's side, he would have not revealed that, shutting down a vital source of intel for Waller.
Ollie has been the rebel in the past, so it does 'fit', but he's also been the double agent more than once, so it seems reasonable that he discovered this entire campaign months ago and knowing that his past history would make him seem like a logical candidate to join in... he could be the mole again.
Thing is... if it's that obvious to us, it's probably just as obvious to Waller.
My biggest problem with this event is it has taken one of the most interesting gray area characters in Amanda Waller and broken her just so she can fit into the mold they want her to be in. Has a long time fan of the character has originated by John Ostrander, I just can't get behind and all villainous megalomaniacal version of what was a very shaded and nuanced character
And if you're interested in stories about misinformation and deep fakes, I strongly recommend reaching back to a story written by Marv Wolfman and drawn by Bob Brown in DAREDEVIL in the 70s... It featured the Jester of all people manipulating the news so he can take over New York...honest!
You gotta also mention that Oliver had the same opinions but not as strong in the justice league unlimited cartoon when they had the whole conversation about government Season 1
The way they do events and tie-ins is an absolute mess!
Looks interesting. Dan Mora’s art is a big plus. I just don’t like how Waller brainwashed Braniac Queen.
Every event since N52 has been either a Crisis or a crisis. What feels like is missing from this (and honestly makes it feel like Marvel a bit) is that there is no (as of me typing this) swell of support for the heroes in any regard. In almost any classic Superman earth based story there are always people ready to cheer on Superman. Hell, while they are dealing with "today's issues", maybe a section of humanity decides they WANT to be ruled by the Justice League.
Waller's plot to turn public opinion against the heroes is a nice callback to the "Legends" mini when G. Gordon Godfrey did it. And of course that's where The Wall and her Task Force X first popped up. That mini also lead to a new Justice League, which I feel will also be the result of this event.
I agree!
Amanda Waller is becoming the next Harley Quinn: Over exposed.
I’ve never been a fan of “Taking away the powers” but Waid and Mora can do wrong in my eyes, and I thought it was really funny Oliver giving his “villain monologue” to BATMAN of all people.
Was there explanation of how Waller sealed off the multiverse and time stream?
Hell yeah Sasha! Thank you for covering this!
thanks so much for the review!
To paraphrase Wanda "no more events". Especially not ones promising to "change things forever".
You do such a good job helping newbies and lapsed readers enjoy modern comics. I love your enthusiasm! Its contagious!
Why don't the people who take down every super hero ever start with the super villains.
Will be adding "hotpocalypse" to my vocabulary, esp in reference to Dan Mora's art, thank you 🙏
This is why no one f*cks with "The Wall"
Ok, she takes care of the heroes. What does she do the next time Darksied shows up? This is just another government versus heroes and after it the heroes will go right back to foolishly being heroes and they'll be no repercussions. It'll be over priced in a year Waller will be in another storyline and no one will remember this one. Just like all the others. Ollie will be forgiven in less than a year just like Tony Stark was in cw1.
Maybe Ollie's little speech would've been more poignant if he'd said it to Hal, or Superman--
--not the fellow rich guy who not only is a big philanthropist, but also has a team of non-powered vigilantes that frequently save innocent lives everyday in the "worst city" in the country.
Or maybe the second-to-last chapter will end on the reveal that he was undercover the whole time, and had to trick his friends to stop Waller.
I guess hal left earth just in time lmao
Best channel ever. I'd never keep up or know so much great comics history without you
As long as Waller is very unimpressed, I be happy.
hi Sasha , love this issue and the Batman tie-in. Love seeing Bruce take responsibility and accepts the consequences of his own actions [referring to Failsafe]. I loved the analogy between him and the gun manufacturer the most
The wierd thing I noticed is this event shares the name with a new superhero themed ttrpg i picked upa while back
Just finished Ground Zero and the first issue, you're right, Mora's art will make you forget any problems with story, that shits amazing!
I definitely prefer Waller to slant more justified fhan this portrayal seems to.
Her Justice League Unlimited incarnation is one of my favorites!
As both a journalism student and a visual artist, the themes of this book are definitely something I plan to keep an eye on
Wonder Woman's villain Dr. Cyber should have as much to do with this event as Failsafe or the Brainiac Queen but D.C. always forgets about her. Greg Rucka gave her a great update for Rebirth and she hasn't been seen since.
i'm just here for the dan mora art, you put him to draw on a book and i'm seated
This looks like DC's belated answer to Marvel's Civil War.
I like that members of the entire superhero community learned what Waller is doing, such as using AI to trick the public into hating superheroes, making deals with people to trap all of the heroes in the main earth, anf making a public speech to depower the entire superhero community with no way out. Mark Waid has done an excellent job in continuing Dawn of DC storylines and having a cohesive continuity for its shared universe. Dane thing with Dan Mora, who has done excellent artwork for the JLA, JLI, JSA, Titans, Doom Patrol, and others. Overall, this comic is great. Let’s hope that later issues of the main series with result in the Bureau of Sovereignity (i.e. Amazos, Failsafe, Brainiac Queen, Sergeant Steel, Dreamer, Oliver, and others) will betray Waller and save the world. Also, Jon turning into an Amazo with no memory of who he is, in which I feel sorry for and that it’s on par with him spending seven years stuck inside a volcano with Ultraman.
@@joshuaingobo1559 How has JSA been since Johns left? I'm severely out of the loop. With him leaving, does that mean we won't get his Nostalgia story tied up?
@@ShinySephiroth1 The JSA has two more issue to go, so Johns hasn’t left yet. Also, it’s unlikely that the Nostalgia story won’t get tied up (unless other writers from The New Golden Age decided to continue it). Also, the recent JSA series is good.
@@joshuaingobo1559 thank you! I love Johns' stories but haven't been keeping up, so this makes me really happy to know.
With Superman loosing his powers, this could be the funniest time to bring back Ar-Val.
I'm sick of these "events" under delivering. But this one looks promising in the hands of Mark Waid. This video has been the best at describing the plot. THANKS
sounds interesting, the last modern event for me was Dark Nights: Death Metal....and I loved it, some days ago I started reading Blackest Night and Brightest day again... not a Green Lantern Fan Fan but slowly get interested in more
The one thing The Batman Who Laughs story arc didn't give us was a hybrid of Bruce, Joker and Amanda Waller. Now that I think about it- that would be a truly terrifying sight to see.
No one wants that
Please no. No more Batman Who Laughs. That horse is dead stop kicking it.
@@oliveragag8576 Trust me- I'm not asking for it, I'm just surprised it didn't happen.
This is a four part weekly event, correct? So another event that interrupts every series for one issue, then things are back to normal when the event month is over. I am more than just tired of this. Events needs to be spread out, no more than one event every 2-3 years. No more back to back to back to back events already!!!
They take away powers, they give them back, they shuffle them around for a while... I know it's harder work to create new characters, but maybe, just maybe, they can come up with new people to care about and focus on them for a bit, maybe with the standard characters somewhere in the background (or maybe not!). Save the classic characters for when they have REALLY GOOD stories involving them, and leave them back otherwise. Hero fatigue is real.
