  • A (not so) short video about 'Denise'. A brand new reverse engineered PCB of the classic Amiga 500+ from MrA.
    A few corrections:
    At 16:55 I obviously meant the ReA600! Not ReCD32 lol. I got both at the same time, just picked the wrong PCB :)
    The FAST RAM card is also 8M, but automatically limits to 6M if RTG is present as mentioned.
    The Streacom chassis are called F1C Evo and F7C and nothing else :)

    This is CZcams. It's not supposed to be professionally shot or edited. A lot of channels do that, which I kind of understand, but it isn't required by viewers. we want to learn stuff and/or be distracted from whatever is going on in our lives. As long as we're learning, laughing, the exact tone of your voice or the alignment of the camera is inconsequential.
    I'm trying to say that CZcams allows you to grow as a content creator. Most viewers don't care about the technical specifications of the equipment you use or the timbre of your voice or the microphone used. You can make videos while you grow as a creator and find a filming & editing workflow that works for you, and you can exercise more and more perfectionism as time goes on.
    Don't be afraid to produce videos. We love this stuff and will watch no matter how "perfect" it is.

    I would LOVE one of these boards in M-ATX form factor with more zorro slots, is there aynthing out there like that? This thing is cool as hell anyway.
    I'm about 17 minutes into the video now, and just so you know you can get USB3 to USB2 adapter headers on ebay very cheaply.
    And I've heard that a lot about swedes, and i frame it like this. You're not showing off to hold yourself above someone else, you're sharing what you love with other like minded folks.

    • @StefanNordlander
      @StefanNordlander  Před rokem

      Now, this is not my area of expertise but I believe that adding more Zorro slots and supporting multiple cards with DMA requires a Buster Chip. Adding this along with the relatively large Zorro II slots just isn't possible on this form factor. We did in fact discuss this, as well as potentially adding a PCI Bus controller (think; G-Rex, Prometius, ..). However this proved to be more complicated than we'd hoped. Amy & Denise both share the same 68k Bus expansion as the A1000 and A500(+), ie. some signals has to be generated to support Zorro II expansiosn. Just like Matthias Heinrichs (Matze) does on his sidecar Zorro II expansion for the A500(+) www.retroguru.eu/product/3632/ These expansions are also limited to 2 cards and only 1 may use DMA at any time.

    I have a dead early Amiga 500 with the revered Hi-tek keyboard. I don't know why collectors rave about that keyboard because, in my opinion, it's not all that great. Yes, it's better than a membrane keyboard, but still *YECHH!!*. With that aside, I also have a late 90s HP that takes a proprietary motherboard (which is dead in my unit). I would really like to build a better Amiga 500 with this Denise board inside that HP case. It does have an allotment for 3 cards, so maybe I could use 2 cards in the Denise board and a header in the 3rd card slot. 😁😸
