Searching for Giant Amberjacks in the Gulf of Mexico - 4K

- I heard reports of giant 100+lb amberjacks being caught by fishermen in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Tampa Bay. I got together with Scott, Drew, and Brian from Tampa Offshore Fishing and we went fishing 30+ miles offshore to several deep wrecks. All of the wrecks were super crowded with both commercial and recreational fishermen. We caught a few amberjacks before switching gears and going snapper fishing. I am still searching for that giant amberjack...

Lol every Florida fisherman-“It is freezing out here” when in reality its like 40 degrees
Great video though
Man I hope one day I can go fishing with you and learn more about saltwater fishing . I've never been off shore.
Welcome to Florida were a 20lb-30lb fish is considered small lol. Anyhow, great video like always!
Those were small AJ's.
Im a simple man, I see amberjacks, i click the video
I like that 👍
Look up new zealand kingfish same family as amberjack
I’m even more simple I see blacktiph and I click the video
Oma
40 degrees is light sweatshirt weather up here in Minnesota
A Minnesotans Adventures same but I live in ND
in jersey too
I’m waste deep in the water when it’s 40 degrees lol waders and a long sleeve is all you need
In California is it’s from 50-80 degrees
Here in miami 40 degrees is stay inside or freeze to death
i sat an refreshed for this video
love the video josh keep making them plz
That's really cool. I love your videos.
In the Panhandle, how far out you are roughly equates to how big of an AJ you're going to catch haha. 10 miles for the 10 pounders, 20 miles for the 20 pounders and 80 miles to the rigs for the big boys.
Gulf Coast Angling same in Louisiana
Idk, outta Destin, the bridge rubble right out the pass holds 90 pounders, and that's only like 6 miles
Sucks dealing with other guys and the bs but u still caught fish👍
I like all the editing put in to these videos
Josh you have one of the better fishing show. I enjoy them a lot. Keep up the good work.
love the amberjack vids!!!!!
Great video! Made my day.
Great video I loved the whole video keep it up!!
RIP Mr. Sardine
I caught a 130lbs amberjack last September in the gulf. No joke, it was bigger than me and the fight was 45 minutes
Ryan G lucky sharks didnt eat it

Great Video as always!
Record it, record it, record it Love the way you say things over and over again. Makes it funny asf😂🤙🏻
love you josh!!! you bring fishing in the home during the winter
Glad to hear buddy. Spring will be here soon enough 👍
thanks!! you are my hero
you are my hero!! thanks for replying
Awesome video man, don't let the other people that think they own the water get you down.
The difference between the drag sound of a Shimano Stella and a Penn reel tells a lot.
You're channel is the best out there in my opinion. More amberjacks videos for sure! Catching yellowtail(amberjack family) with Tito Ortiz Is my favorite video. I've watched it at least 12 times.Wanted to ask a question. Hopefully you're willing to answer it. Would you ever recommend buying an affordable rod under a hundred bucks when your on a budget? If so any suggestions?
I've been watching your videos for a long time
Makes me sick to hear they are commercial wiping out amberjack now too, as if they the tiny little hundred million dollar commercial industry deserves to rob the multi billion dollar recreational industry of any more species, smh
Totally agreed. Same for stripers on the East Coast... You wonder why hotel owners, gas stations, boat dealers, tackle shops, restaurants, etc don't all band together to say: hey, this fishery brings in tens of thousands of people. Why would you want to destroy it to sustain a few people for a couple of seasons until the stocks are gone? Makes no goddam sense to me.
+Someone Else striper population is huge on the east coast from maryland to NY(where i'm from)
How old are you? The size of fish are half what they were 30 years ago along the whole mid-Atlantic up to Maine and the numbers have completely crashed (though they have always been cyclical). Ask anybody who has been fishing these waters for a few decades. It's about the spawning grounds (pollution of rivers), the over-fishing of menhaden, and the commercial fishery.
The harvest of amberjack is heavily gm regulated and the commercial season commonly only last a few weeks a year
Tim Potteiger agree
I DREAM OF 45min-60min videos!!!
You were talking about 40 out there ( and that is pretty cold for Florida ) but where I live it was -10 below
"its a giant dude!!"
Rhett Mashburn ginormous!!!
What camera do you use mate? Image quality is amazing!!!!
I thought for sure there was going to be a boat brawl @blacktiph nice vid though I highly enjoy them!
Love amberjack vids.

Great video bra ❤️❤️❤️!!!
Come to Mexico bro! We have great AJ action. Almost all year round. Caribbean is always a fun place to jig

Lol I thought the title said lumberjacks and I was like ''what... Umm ok on that side of CZcams again.''
Gettin' jiggy wid it, looks fun !
Still those first 2 fish were incredible. Such a beautiful fish.
I love the sound of that drag.
BlacktipH= best fishing channel on youtube#1

@@TheMasterCaster nice
AJs!!! That's it I'm going offshore this weekend. IT'S TIME!
Haha you can hear the audio watermark from the website they found this song on
TheMasterCasters Premium beat .com lol
Possibly they partnered.
While editing this video, I forgot to switch out the MP3s for the WAVs. First time I’ve ever made that mistake and hopefully it never happens again.
BlacktipH it was still an amazing intro, don’t sweat it
Great. Im from brazil. Im very fan. I Like it. Fishing forever
Lol I wish I was fishing in that weather. I'm a mate on a charter boat out of Delaware and we've been tog fishing in max 30 degrees. The other day it was a high of 17 degrees we were fishing and we had to put our crabs we were using as bait in the ice box because it was warmer in the ice box than it was outside. Boat was covered in ice. If I could show you a picture of the rods from running back to the dock I would. Great video
Did a lot of fishing for amberjack, tuna, wahoo, bull dolphin etc. in the Gulf of Mexico some years back. Used to use big Penn spinning reels and rods but found that for bigger fish that a stand up rod and level wind reel with a belt worked better. For bigger fish 30lbs +, the long spinning outfits are advantage fish.....stand up gear and belt is advantage angler especially if trying to keep fish away from an oil rig or bottom wreck. Surprising to see fishing shows on you tube using spinning gear.
I love ur amberjack vids in Miami
A whole ocean out there and two boats fighting for a spot.....lol
Doin the damn thing again josh! Yeeeeew
I LOVE THE BACK ROUND 🎵
That rod bend is crazy!
I caught a 65 lb amberjack in Islamorada on spinning gear from 300 ft down , and it fought harder than a 150lb bluefin on spinning gear
A knew video finally
I was fishing for hours in when the wind chill was -11. 40 would be like a spring day.
Hey haha I live in St. Pete. Great shot of the skyway
Hey blacktiph. I was wondering if you were going to make a video on how to fish the black tip migration in regards to bait and locations
Hey JOSH ...... That boat, what an ID 10 T .... !!!!
It's the same here in Sth Australia on any decent Snapper Drop .....
What, you can't see me ....... OMG ...... Why do they have to fish on top of you .... great to see you kept filming ..... !!!!
OH, NICE STELLA 30,000 .................... I noticed you fish R/H with that one ...........
And this is WHY it is FISHING, NOT Catching ..... best plans can go sideways ......
Cheers
"Down Under Mike"
@blacktipH today just went fishing in mexico and caught a sail fish there is a lot around but it is catch and release so if u want go for some sailfish and barracuda we caught a few of em so they are defiantly out!
The first amberjack he caught, he said it was, small, that may be true for an amberjack, but for a regular fish, that is huge
Come fish the middlegrounds off Hernando county. there are some nice fish there also.
Top demais....parabéns !
I'm 40 mins from boca grand. Dude your a trooper running that far, in the cold. Fla boys don't do cold. It's been a weird start to the year.
It has been weird this January.
What the name of rod?
Thank Bro, Ilike Yuo Vidios. Iam Indonesian
What!!! 40 degrees and you have 7 layers?! that teeshirt weather!
You should come to socal again in like late July or August and try to catch the yellowtail I think they are in the jack family they are super fun when they are on top.
I live right next to oniels bait and tackle like 3 blocks away behind gator Jim’s
Best snook spot behind the logger head marina
Did u get a new camera or is it just me because it looks better quality this video
Come to Australia and do some KingFishing :)
Cazsss Australia have small kingfish haha come to New Zealand for the real deal
Don't compare a kingfish here in Aus to what he is catching,
I'd love to see him come catch a jew fish above 30kg
Muhammed Dunia Kingfish in Aus are little pups, here in NZ we get them to 52kg
Daniel Fishing yea I already know that, that's y we call them rats
Muhammed Dunia why would he go all the way to australia to catch little 30kg jewfish when the goliath groupers we have here in florida (a type of jewfish) can reach 600 pounds+ or 272 kg+
I like the videos. I like to fish and my biggest fish is a 5 foot 55 pound stingray.
I would love to see a video of you fishing with Tito again.
We will go fishing again soon.
calling those first two fish 20lbs.. come on, hahaha
Amazing,,,👍👍👍👍👍
Nice video man, what set up was u jigging with ?
Josh you have been up to Wisconsin you know its not cold down there. Its not really cold up here right now either!
the Giant Trevally to me is the pound for pound hardest fighting fish but great video
The monster AJs are out at the middle grounds, on the big wrecks in 200 ft or more. Caught a 115-120 lb one there last year, would have been a state record in that line class if I'd bothered to keep it or record the dimensions.
Guys thanks a lot for your videos. I started fishing and was just wondering do you stop the boat for fishing at sandy areas or at coral reef areas and which are the best? Thanks
in the uk thats shorts and T-shirt and [good morning lovely weather isnt it lol]
You should come to Hawaii and go out to catch some monster G.T.’s off the boat. Their super fun to catch and pound for pound are close to amberjacks in strength.
Are you going to do another meet up over here in St. Petersburg. Wasn’t able to make the one you did at gator Jim’s
Lol the only fish ive caught are small rock cods and a small Red snapper
"Everything loves bonitos" hahaha even bonitos love bonito i was trolling with bonito strips and skirts and catching bonitos one after another
7 layers!!! Im from west Virginia and i go out in 36° with short and a tee shirt
Once I saw you fishing that I was out on a boat and I almost passed out
Gotta love the amberjack!!!!!!
What was the name of the rod with the stella 20000 younwere using when you hooked the first amberjack
Thanks
Such a beast of a fish
Love when Florida people think 40 degrees is cold, try 20 and 30 degrees, below freezing most of the days in Indiana in the winter
haha “it’s brutal out here the ice hasn’t melted yet” it was 36 today where i live in connecticut and i was like wow it feels like summer AHAHAA
