I have a 2010 E63. Ten years old, still a monster. 518 HP, 0-60 in 4.1, naturally aspirated, true 6.2 liter. Pick up the groceries, sedate. Autobahn cruiser. Do 90 and feels like 50. Hot summer day, AC makes it so cold you can hang meat. Sound system is all you want. Ton of trunk space. Still one of the best looking E models ever built.

@Tim Bradley dont be hard on yourself. given time youll get there. if anything start working young. hang around cool shops and learn. theyll probably give you lessons and small jobs if you ask. by the time your even 16 youll have a 50k+ job, with knowledge of cars to own your own sports car. THEN youll be in a better position than people buying Mercedes to get ripped off by mechanics and dealers with insane repair cost. trust me this is the quickest way. you could get a Merc AND whatever else you want by 10th/11th grade

So late to this lol. Just purchased the 2022 E63s will be coming soon. Traded in my c63s for it and that surprisingly was a serious head turner. Nothing super modded on the exterior other than a carbon rear diffuser, spoiler and front lip but man it turned heads like crazy. Gonna miss it but it’s time for an upgrade. Hopefully there’s an r3 renntech tune for the new ones since that’s what my c63s was pushing(760+ hp)

The ultimate sleeper. I just got one with a RennTech tune. 2019 with 12k miles. What a killer ride. My wife drives it in daddy mode and doesn't even know it has sport plus and race mode.

giurcas a lot of these new sedan/saloon/estates that come out these days to absolute ridiculous numbers. Take the M5 or RS6/7 as well as this monster. They all launch 0-60 in 3.X seconds. Its absolutely ridiculous how much power these cars hold and a love it!

Nice review, that’s actually the standard sound system in the W213 E63S. The upgraded system is called Burmeister 3D high end audio and you can tell from extra illuminated speaker grills as well as the rotating tweeters up in the corner of the front doors.

Do not take the car in to MB as you will lose your shirt!! Simply take to a trusted mechanic you have already been using over the years or find one. You will learn most parts you can buy online yourself far cheaper without sacrificing quality!! Your mechanic is more than likely not the sane hourly rate as MB $250/hr service charge. I guess you can begin to see how the cost can now be affordable. Now no more excuses....go treat yourself to goodness!!!
Example: my 2014 E63 S-AMG needs back breaks. I purchased Brembo used by Mercedes and break pads with sensors all for around $400 online. All parts are genuine Mercedes parts. My installation will probably run me about $140.00 so all in around $600.00 for back breaks on this type of car.

The transmission is MCT which basically consists of multi clutches (far more than 2 in a dual clutch transmission). This thing can really shift fast.

It's not a dual-clutch- it's a planetary gear automatic transmission, but instead of the "traditional" torque converter, it has a wet multiplate clutch, allowing for better power transfer through the drivetrain and quicker shifts.

It is NOT a dual clutch. It is a normal torque converter like transmission but instead of a torque converter in the conventional sense it is a wet start up clutch. It's like a different type of torque converter. This was you get the smooth comfortable shifts when even sat in traffic which dual clutches can't do. It shifts so quick because it engineered by Mercedes. They know what they're doing.

It's not a matter of whether you can afford to buy it, it's whether you can afford to keep it. BMW's and MB's depreciate like crazy in only a few years. The maintenance doesn't depreciate at all, however. These cars are some of the worst for nickel and dimeing you to death for basic stuff that you can do yourself on most other cars.

Best e class yet!! 0-60 Equally matched with my $65k Model 3 Performance @3.17 without launch control needed. I like it but I’ve had AMG ‘s and the maintenance after 2- years plus can be a nightmare , not to mention Salmondrin had 2 Brand NEW G63’s recently that got lemon lawed after just buying them due to unsolvable problems at the dealership !

Not comparable, with EVs you get a car with good performance and torque but the rest of the package is comparable to a car 1/'2 the price, the Model 3 is a much smaller car with the interior quality of a Toyota. Can't even get ventilated seats. Meanwhile maintenance on new cars is not that bad, go to an independent dealer, don't buy 80K+ cars and bitch about spending a grand a year on maintenance.

Junuvo Jam not accurate. The Model 3 interior dimensions are the same as the E class and so is trunk. Quality interior I completely agree but it’s also 1/2 the price . Maintenance is not $1,000 more like $3,000 , get out of warranty and it’s like $8,000 a year lol , and it’s a waste of resources paying 6x more for gasoline and inefficiency of ice cars...to drive same distance!

Beautiful cars you just can't go wrong with these, they are soo docile when you drive them as a regular car. But withing a second of you stepping on the gas paddle, inatand downshift plus instant boost will get you a speed of a bullet leaving a gun barrel ( yes explosives you shooting a bullet or like a plane taking off.

fantomg100 It’s not a true dual clutch either, its actually Mercedes’s automatic without the torque converter. Though you’re right it’s not a single clutch.
The only true Mercedes dual clutches are in the A/CLA/GLA, and AMG GT.

How would you compare this to the BMW Alpina B7? I currently have a 2017 B7 and the lease is finishing but the service here in Mobile, AL has totally destroyed the vehicle and my wife and I are wanting to not go back to BMW. E63S vs M5 Competition hm... It’s basically what you like more. They’re both equally fast depending ok the driver M5 is more aggressive sharper corners where Benz was always more elegant and classier.. As far as comfort Benz is better in that segment no one can argue that. Interior Benz is more in to a Modern look where Bmw is Modern and sticking to the classic. Now I really think this comes to a personal choice what you desire and like more or which car you are fan of more. I like them both I’m big Benz fan and I think they are far more reliable than BMW or Audi. But when you have 100K to splash who cares i guess.
