    Ok... so I just realize that i have a whole collection of those "unseen" Battlemech robots sitting on my shelf for like 25 or some years. I got battletech on my 15 birthday and never played it...

      I think you got only the cheap plastic ones from the boxed Game. The Metal Versions are more rare. I played in the 90s and i have some real unseen but a lot are recasts. Which was the only solution to get Most of the original mechs before there were official redesigns which where mostly not liked by the Community. The new plastic mech Line ist mostly more like the unseen Models.

    I'm currently working my way through painting 50 of the old metal glade guard with spears from like 1995 ready to make 2 units of 25 eternal guard once they bring back Warhammer: The Old World. They were a bit pricey and took some time to find, but well worth the money imo. Older models just have a certain something about them, a charm, that makes them so cool to me.

  • @tristanwilliams7283
    @tristanwilliams7283 Před 2 lety +2

    From what I know the battletech segment is a bit off, the original Unseen Battledroids/Battletech kits are just imported mecha kits from Japan with some stats printed on the back by FASA/TCI for the game, so the actual kits themselves not super rare (eg. Doyusha reprinted all of their Dougram kits, some of which were part of the unseen line, last year in a $60 boxset) just the boxes that have the stats.

    I believe KD has actually rereleased that original Forsaker model a couple of times, so if all you want is the model itself and not all the first edition Kickstarter packaging and cards and stuff, you should be able to find it for a little cheaper. The rereleases also have the now-standard round KD bases and not the square plinth thing the original came with.

    It's confusing to think that there's all this miniature IP sitting out there unused by the holders, especially when it's going for $$$ on ebay. You'd think they'd wake up and recast the miniatures or sell the 3D files for them to make some money.

    • @RealityDysfunction
      @RealityDysfunction Před rokem

      @@KuK137 Point 1 - They own the IP so it'd be trivial to organise a 3d scan and sculpt of a model without needing the original cast.
      Point 2 - That's my whole point, they might be dead, in which case it the IP ownership has moved to someone else, or moved on from the industry, yet there's valuable IP just being wasted that could instead be licensed and enjoyed by players.
