Next on the channel, time to talk some DnF Duel! My thoughts of the game after the 2nd beta honestly left me much more impressed than after the first one for a variety of reasons . After that, YES Ash crimson saga video is coming before Rugal launches! And Rugal gets the royal treatment when he drops in terms of combos and guides!
I definitely need your take on DNF. Seems cool but like… cool enough to dedicate my life to another fighting game again? Only Rooflemonger can tell me. I trust no other man.
Long time Fighting game fan here just trying out strive cause of steam summer sale.
The second I tried Testament on training mode it was love at first sight, they became my favorite fighting game character of all time after like 3 online matches.
Now I have to get used to a whole new franchise and take this video very seriously if I wanna play with them lol

This is a very awesome guide as usual! The thing that stands out to me the most is Testament putting the fast RC to good use by sending out the crow and teleport at the same time to continue pressure off a crossup!

Great guide! Testament is definitely my favorite of Strive's S1 DLC cast in both play style and general design.
I've been trying out Testament while looking for a main to settle on and I've watched a few videos like these, but they commit the cardinal sin of assuming the viewer knows all the specific mechanics. You don't, and I appreciate that a lot, this is the first testament video I've seen that explains the stain state at all, not to mention you go the extra step to explain why it's useful.

@@rooflemonger Fair warning, there will be a small and very vocal minority that complain about this sort of thing. But they're always a *very small* demographic and 13-17 years old (less likely to throw you any cash), so it really doesn't matter at all. CZcams gets more draconian every year so do what you have to in order to keep this channel alive! You're the best in the business but undervalued by the platform.

Well the next thing for Strive is season 2 is anywhere from 1-2 months away. After that happens I will do a big refresh on many characters and looking to do stuff for characters that haven't got any attention yet.

Now playing Potemkin I was having a rough time against Testament. In particular just a lot of "What about my armour?!?!!" situations that were REALLY confusing me and.... that's what that stain state does, huh? Thought it was just for the teleport.... Hmmmm
I also had the impression that raw Crow pierced right through Hammerfall a bunch of times too but could be just me. Once you're confused, your mind just keeps spinning
could you make a video talking about how to beat testiment? Tests stuff feels unbeatable.
Played the beta a couple hours against a very good pc friend ( of course they’ve had it a year ) … he complimented my testament so here I am 😂
I used the TP invincibility to dodge a Ramlethal blade toss. Won me the whole round cuz they couldn't get me to the wall for the detonation.

Shermie already has one, these kinda vids take longer to do than anything else i make though so I can't exactly crank them out. Rugal will get one, and after the balance patch some other characters will too.

2h I heard is good to just place out because it's slow but disjointed hitbox and like zero recovery
It does have the disjointed hitbox like stand HS yes! However its incredibly slow, like double the startup of stand HS basically, making it realistically harder to use is most situations

it depends, most combos it does the same actually. It matters how they touch the ground if it does or doesn't.

I been having fun with them when I play. Now I finally have a 3rd main. I thought it'd be baiken but testament is much more my style. I-no, Jack-o and Testament are my 3.

People make such a big deal out of those gaps between Kicks and Sweep. Did you know that Nago is the same? And his 6K (his main cancel out of 5K) moves him closer to you, yet not a single soul ever dared to throw me or do a reversal between those two hits.
Roofle, what is the current state of guilty gear ? I see so many people complain about the balance of this game and how there is such a difference between the top and bottom tiers. I want to pick it up solely for testament but if the game isnt fun i dont wanna spend the money lol
The only overprivileged characters who need to be toned down are Leo, Ram, Sol and May. Every other character has some degree of bullshit factor but not in a way which is detrimental to the game's balance and enjoyment, all the contrary (Happy Chaos might be an exception, he is not broken per se but he is incredibly obnoxious to fight).
Millia is a personal thing for me, she is not overprivileged or busted but i hate her with my guts because her setplay denies interaction altogether. A minor nerf to her jump-ins would solve the problem but its not really needed.
Id say buy the game, its really good and really fun.
The game is pretty balanced, there's a reason most of the top player's tier lists have the worst characters at B tier. They all are pretty busted.
Well its not all time great or anything but I think balance is pretty decent. There is certainly lower tiers like goldlewis/anji right now but we got Season 2 around the corner in a couple months and things will only improve from there imo.

They've always been androgynous, but the writers decided that they'll be fully agender in strive
Ya everyone called testament he and him including dizzy his closest friend but that got changed in strive idk why but there still cool as fuck so I don't care
He's still male now (see the in-game database, which starts out by saying "Testament is a young man"); men are allowed to be feminine.
Honestly, it's just another case of the progressive skin suit. This character is recognized as Testament by other characters but comes off as a completely different character in cosplay. I'm so sick of this. God forbid an androgynous man be allowed to just be an androgynous man, and vise versa.
