  • This tutorial video guides you through the steps necessary to increase your idle rpm set point on your mass air fox body the right way. This starts with some simple tune changes based on your desired rpm, followed by some initial data logging, and finally the proper calculations necessary to determine how much idle air your combo needs to idle smoothly and how to determine the amount of air getting through the throttle body vs. the idle air valve.
In this video I use the Binary Editor software combined with a Moates QuarterHorse to walk through the relevant stock settings on the Fox Body A9L configuration, which is what you'd find in a 89-93 5.0 5-speed car, and a tutorial on increasing idle from 672 (stock) to 772 rpms.

This is a very good, comprehensive and informative video on IAC control. I've thought of some good plans of attack to adjust this on my 95 GT with a standalone, to see if i can get the lowest, strongest and consistent idle i can. I think my cam is considered big at .600 lift, 236 in 243 ex duration and 112 lobe separation, so the idle running has been a challenge getting it exactly how i want it. I also have a 75mm throttle body which has the potential of letting more air in at idle when cracked open. Thanks for the education🏆

Just want to say great videos, you make it all make sense! I'm tuning my 95 gt 306 H/C/I. Any chance you could do a video or 2 on CBAZA/ T4Mo. I did happen to see in one of your videos, you had a file of CBAZA stuff. I've figured out some of the same scalars but unsure of a few. Thanks and keep up the great work. BTW up in Ontario, not much help up here for the Moates, trying to get some tuners into it.
