I think what it comes down too is the fact that he doesn’t have anything flashy for him and thats what the media wants, he doesnt get monster dunks he doesnt have a crazy outgoing personality, he has just refined so many parts of the game to an ultra elite level by putting his nose to the grindstone

I don't think so. Curry and the warriors showed how badly they could attack Jokic on the Nuggets With athletic forwards like wiggins and shooters like Poole, Curry and Klay. Celtics were already having huge trouble defending the warriors (mainly due to Curry) Add in Jokic who is going to start infront of Williams or Horford either way he is being attacked every play.
In game 2 of 2020 WCF against the Lakers, Jokic had 11 points in a row, leading the comeback to lead the game in last 3 minutes of the game until Plumlee brain farted and let AD have an open shot for the win.... If Plumlee contested that shot from AD, we would be talking about the great comback run Jokic had in that game, and not AD yelling Kobe....

The only one that had a case was Giannis last year. Jokic was way more efficient at scoring, way better at playmaking, better at rebounding, and comparable at defense. Joel is a good player, but he hasn't been close to Jokic or Giannis in any recent year.

NBA media just hates the fact that the deserved MVP of the league is a big, burly, non-athletic, unassuming European playing for a small market team. If I were an nba gm that needed one player to start a nba franchise around, my top three guys to pick from would be Giannis, luka, or jokic, in no particular order. And it’s funny that the top 3 guys are all international players. It’s almost like they focus on the game itself instead of their “brand” or how they’re gonna respond back on social media. Steph is the only American superstar that focuses on the game consistently, and it’s no surprise that he’s been the most successful in terms of winning championships. When it’s all said and done, all three of them will win a ring, possibly multiple before their careers are over.
If Joker wins a title he would be ahead of Gianis and KD in my opinion, my top 5 of would be, Le bron, Curry, joker, KD, Gianis in todays nba, and if he after winning continuous to create his own legacy after bron and curry going out for good, he will be the best player in this generations, the man is a Beast.

One and only stat you need to know about most recent Jokic season is: Denver Nuggets were a 6th seed with a team that featured Austin Rivers playing 22mpg But if anyone needs to dig deeper take any playoff team in the NBA and think, would you swap any player from that team for either: Monte Morris, Jeff Green or Will Barton Joker took a team that had himself and one other half decent player in Aaron Gordon and made the 6th seed. Literally rest of the team would play like 12 mpg if even that, in most playoff teams

I don't get the "he plays in Denver, a small market" hate either. I never saw this hate for KD or Russell Westbrook in OKC, a smaller market than Denver. People jump on Giannis for this too (no coincidence there). Also I never see that kind of slander with small markets in other sports like the NFL. No one hates on or tries to deny accolades or credit from Mahomes for playing in Kansas City or Josh Allen for playing in Buffalo, or even any of the Denver Broncos stars over the years. If I were an nba gm that needed one player to start a nba franchise around, my top three guys to pick from would be Giannis, luka, or jokic, in no particular order. And it’s funny that the top 3 guys are all international players. It’s almost like they focus on the game itself instead of their “brand” or how they’re gonna respond back on social media. Steph is the only American superstar that focuses on the game consistently, and it’s no surprise that he’s been the most successful in terms of winning championships. When it’s all said and done, all three of them will win a ring, possibly multiple before their careers are over.

Don’t know why the media is in such total denial about international players at this point. It’s not a matter of if they’re coming for the 2020’s decade or not, because they’re already here and have claimed it. Doncic and Embiid are both getting at least one mvp each within the next 5 years and I wouldn’t be surprised if Giannis and Jokic both snatched one more each as well in that time period.
