Jokic for the past two years has been arguably the best passer in the game, one of the best mid range shooters in the game, the most efficient big man in the game all while carrying a Nuggets team without key players to a winning record and a playoff spot. He is one of the most dynamic and efficient offensive weapons the league has EVER seen and while it's perfectly fine to think Embiid or even Giannis deserved it over him; the members of the NBA community/media who are claiming this win to be undeserved are simply ridiculous and completely incorrect
I do think that Giannis is the only player in the league, that has a good case for it over Jokic. Embiid is not playing enough games to deserve the award in my opinion.
@@thetruth4654 yup, Embid gets mid results with a mid team. Giannis gets great results with a good team ( you might even say the Bucks starting 5 are really really good, atleast defensively). Jokic got mid results with a guaranteed lottery team. It's just an opinion though. if you put Giannis on the Nuggs instead of Jokic, they become a play in team, but if you put Embid on the Nuggs they are not in the playoffs. With Jokic on the Bucks they remain a top contender, Jokic on the 76ers, they get better. Even the advanced stats don't do Jokic justice, because his ability to make hockey assists and the right play almost every time is tremendous.
I think the NBA is struggling with an identity crisis having guys like Jokic, Luka, Embiid and Giannis being the future face of the NBA because they are international players leading an American league. They've had decades of Magic, Michael, Kobe and LeBron. The narrative is "We're the United States, we produce the best athletes in the world." Not anymore.
Very plausible. This may be the case. They can't wrap their heads around the fact that the best players are from outside of the United States. Wembenyama is another insane prospect that has GOAT potential with his height, wingspan and the way he plays
@@tooforwon241 you might have a interesting video in your hand. When Dirk and Giannis are the only EU players in the top 75, tons of people still think that Klay or even Vince Carter should've been in instead of Giannis. US biased is at a all time high.
@@tooforwon241 no not plausible, it’s American voters voting for international players. If that narrative had any merit, it would’ve went to American players ever year. Don’t entertain that nonsense man, stop it. We love seeing the game expand because it was lonely being at the top for so damn long, now that the game has international faces, it’s become immensely more exciting.
@@Luigiman_95 Bro, are you seriously making that false statement when literally the vast majority of great players come from the US-__- also read my above comment about how AMERICAN voters are the ones voting for the international players, forget what some fans are saying, because it’s factually false. Not to mention the million of American fans from places like Dallas, Milwaukee, Philly, Denver who love their international superstars. How are you going to ignore that fact? Also just look at the Olympic record, where the US has been the dominant country for nearly a century. Which explains why most players in the top 75 come from there-because they’ve produced the top talent for that long! Stop it
Warriors fan. I gotta be honest, The more and more I hear all these ex NBA players or broadcasters complain, it makes it seem like they didn’t wanna give it to Jokic cus he’s white, slow and looks like a plumber. Where as Embiid is a physical specimen who is flashy, exciting and looks like a star. It’s not like you can point to specifics of Embiid for why he outplayed Jokic. The Joker dominated every category like we’ve never seen. Played every game for a much worse team. Embiid missed games like always, isn’t nearly the factor with playmaking and has better teammates. Just seems like they didn’t wanna give the award to the chubby white guy.
I can't lie. It really does look like that's the case. I didn't want to say it, so I hinted at it towards the end to address these claims. Out of frustration, it's something that I would agree with. Because I'm getting very concerned that the xenophonia we're seeing by some is more widespread than initially thought
@@tooforwon241 That is 100 % the case , if Jokic were American and he were black with a physique like Embiid despite playing the exact same and doing the same with the same team the narrative would have been different and we all know it .
Yes that was a great point by Joy. It would definitely make it more palatable for anyone not wanting Jokic to win it. But it wouldn't change that there is this sentiment felt by a lot of pundits and fans
To be honest, me being a baseball fan first and foremost, the argument of him being too low a seed is hilarious, when i remember Cal Ripken winning one on a last place season. Not that baseball player and basketball player impact is comparable per se. Just that it kind of makes look at it a little different.
Personally I think it should be announced after the Finals, because it is something that can affect a player emotionally and can result in a let down in play. I'm sure there are people who would say that these are professionals and shouldn't be affected by something like this but you take 5 hardworking professionals in any field and give 1 of them an award or promotion and the 4 who were not selected are going to have a decrease in their performance immediately following the announcement. They will get over it in short time, but that slight dip can be all it takes to briefly affect performance and can result iin a loss that could lead to being knocked out of the playoffs. I think it is best to leave all of those things until the finals are complete.
@Beaverish Buck Teeth these guys giving terrible options isn’t about race lol thats the point they’ve been giving terrible opinions for years nothing to do with race, bunch of terrible takes on black players but it’s not race the issue is they don’t like completely foreign players

I will admit the league needs to announce the MVP as soon as the regular season ends. But Nikola Jokic plays like a point guard Tim Duncan. And of course he’s European, isn’t a physical specimen and plays for a rather mid level market in Denver. Of course the media was going to hate on him.
Well, i been calling him modern day wilt as a 76er. Wilt was being a point center rhose years, and lead the league in assists. Had 8.6 apg one of those years, and the 60s were much more stingy in handing out asts. So, i could see him having a triple-double by today's standards in asts. Jokic has been doing something we really havent seen in 50 years. (Barring maybe toung bill walton is his rare healthy moments.
Bro, when you look all these reactions, except for Nick Wright, every black analalyst is against Jokić winning the MVP. Not wanna pull the race card, but that is the fact. Also why is Kendrick Perkins allowed to express an opinion about basketball? He averaged 1 tech, and 5 fouls in 3 min on the court, and he's like a basketball expert?
@@HowardMoon56 Nick Wright is a j........e.......w. (CZcams censors that word, they dont like us pointing them out). They hate white people more than anyone, Theyre the ones starting this trend of hating whites being ok

Not his fault he's the best player on the court and the next 5 best players all came from the opposite team. Dude could not be stopped against the warriors especially games 3-5.
If you look at it when it comes to the playoffs Jokic has made if further than Joel he’s at least has made it to a wcf Joel hasn’t made,it past the 2nd round I know playoffs don’t matter but people act like Joel won a championship the past 2 years
They were eliminated with much better teams to back them up, too. If we're going to evaluate Playoffs performance, Luka Doncic would be a better candidate than Embiid and Giannis at this point.
@@leandronc oh so not Giannis. So not mister 44 20 and 8. Numbers not seen since prime shaq. Giannis did everything in his power. That celtics team is deadly and he carried his team to a game 7. Giannis is the playoff mvp and he’s the best player in the world No doubt
Black Americans have been less and less shy about showing their racism since it has started becoming acceptable to hate white people openly in our own country
Guess what? The Nuggets were a good team this season too. And that's mostly due to Jokic's impact. Even the Sixers would've lost to the Wesr Champs Warriors in the first round
They be hating on him because he is the MVP in a black dominated sport. Racism is a two way street. A player should not be considered for MVP if he is average during the regular season but steps it up post season. Play like you want MVP all season and earn your money. Even great players have to have a decent team to make it far into the playoffs. Staying healthy and playing all or most of your games has to taken into consideration for MVP.
@@slojo404 Then what's the problem? The other runner up is a great player but he missed allot of games with an injury. That takes a player out of the MVP mix.

Idk why it’s always about race. It like they can’t accept the fact that a white person is good at basketball. Idk why they think only a black guy should always win MVP in the NBA. Imagine if it was reversed.

I think a lot of the hate from the media is because most of the top players in the league now are not from the USA like 4 of the top five players are international players in luka, jokic, Giannis, and emiid
Dude nearly averaged a triple double as a center and carried his franchise to the postseason for the second year in a row, literally breaking records in the process. This is where the conversation should stop! But it doesn't cos he's a humble white dude from a country most Americans wouldn't be able to pinpoint on a world map, who doesn't use his Twitter and Instagram accounts to broadcast videos from clubs and hit on singers and actresses and instead mumbles his interviews disinterestedly from a horse stable in his small hometown in Serbia. That's what they mean when they say "not marketable enough". A goofy European kid that barely even made it to the NBA ending up showing Americans how it's done while not caring about the whole media and entertainment circus the league has turned into is not easy to swallow for these so-called "analysts".
That's the thing about media, athletes and America's way of thinking in general. If you don't make someone money what worth are you? God I can't wait for this shithole to collapse so the next one can rise like it always does
It's funny how the only ones hating are the "casual" analysts that only watch maybe 1 or 2 TNT Nuggets games a year. The eye-test is that you don't watch him play lmao. It's hilarious, really.
3 points less than Embiid, but 5 assists more, meaning that Jokic produced/contributed to at least 10 points through those assists, that tips the numbers to his favor. Not to mention, better FG%, less points from the free point line, MEANING he scored more from play, 2 more rebounds, played more games- consistency. Then people cried how hes out of the playoffs, well Embiids out too, what now?
Jokic got knocked out of the playoffs but that series was basically him against the Warriors since the Nuggets are injured. Michael Jordan got repeatedly sent home early before the Bulls got good pieces around him.
His advanced defensive metrics smoke Embiid's too. Statistically any way you slice it Jokic was easily the MVP. Second best player on that Nugs team is Aaron freaking Gordon.
@@gamble777888 At Embiid, the ball is rarely seen. Premal looks around even though he is waxing and will follow the development of the game, but he is just waiting to get the ball un hit. He is not capable of taking over the organization of attacks or defenses on his own, at least according to what he has shown. But he is a good shooter. Jokic is easily the MVP. Because the first, unlike Emboldj, played all 58 games, playing 18 less, so there is no comparison already in this segment. Jokič is all in one, as a multipractitioner, but he is also an excellent organizer and has a much bigger overview of what is happening in the game.
I get the frustrations, but you have to understand that this argument doesn't hold water when you have Luka being much more embraced by NBA fans and media. Aside from the Montrezl Harrell moment in the bubble, he's been a fan favorite for so many people
I agree somewhat, but it also took Duncan most of his career to get the recognition. Small Market + Non-flashy makes up most of the disrepect. Jokic, kinda similar to Giannis, does not embrace the kind of flashy, highlight-centric, high profile culture that the nba has become which means people like the media can't really get much non-basketball material (in particular but not exclusively, drama) so they try to disrespect him enough that he can "fade out" of relevance, which isn't working.

While I don't like to use the card or bring it up but with some of the reactions and lack of logic behind a lot of the complaints from these "analysts" and former players, I actually think some of it is a racial bias for Embiid and against Jokic. Both had great seasons, both had to overcome adversity with team mates being out injured and both scraped into the playoffs but they are acting like Embiid lead the 76ers to a 60+ win season and Jokic missed they playoffs, there is a clear bias who these pundits wanted to win.
@@MMALifestyle1972 There may or may not be but there is definitely an irrational bias against Jokic. If the shoe was on the other foot there would certainly be people bringing up the race card against them.
Harden, Maxey, Harris. All would've been the CLEAR number two option in the Nuggets this year. Hell, the way MPJ was playing even if he was healthy he wouldn't have been better than any of these guys. Edit: Seth Curry would've been the 2 option too.
Jokic is 6'11. He can dribble, shoot from multiple ranges, block shots and pass. What do American basketball players at 6'11 do best ? Dunk and block shots. The NBA is going through what the NHL went through in the 1980's. The European influence is going to be more present inthe NBA.
Making a point about the "Morris situation" is the highlight of this video. Someone had to say it straight like this. Let the snowflakes (in philly) melt.
Thanks man for fighting the right battle. The fact is that people don't care about the context. I would even argue that he shouldn't have won last year. Not because he didn't deserve it, but because I knew how the media are gonna react. Especially knowing that the Nuggets have a limited squad. It's wonder they even made it through the first round last year. Regardless of what is the truth, casuals (which are the most of the fans) are gonna remember him as the worst MVP, chosen by the keyboard warriors. Sad but true.
Well to be honest, who cares what the media thinks. They will shove and force feed the people (casuals and "fans" included) that one player is miles better, but in reality is a fraud just for views and clicks. When the whole time, people are overlooking greatness year after year. Look at the slander that Giannis gets, Booker still don't get nods and he is solidified. Remember the cheap shots Steph got during the first ankle injury? He had to show them big moments time after time til they started to respect him. It took 3 rings to do that, meanwhile the same media considers Harden an all time great? First they love you, then they hate you.
@@Solodolo84 but you also have examples of players being disrespected long after they stopped playing. Steve Nash and Charles Barkley come to mind first. This is why I would much rather prefer for Jokić to win with Denver in silence, without too much of a media coverage, but also without spinning narratives against him. And unless Denver improve their team, maybe he will end up, in the eyes of many as "the worst MVP we had in 30 years".
@@sexualchocolate7825 well said. I, also like you, am tired of the disrespect of solid players. Especially ones that get better every season. You got the right outlook, it's still sad how they tear down great players but flower up the frauds with viral plays and marketability. It's business I guess, but it's not fact.
As far as the NBA's talking heads at ESPN like Richard Jefferson (who I liked as a player but c'mon man) are concerned, they probably think Russell Westbrook and Derrick Rose should have finished above Jokic in the MVP race because they sell more shoes.
what actually matters in this game? at a certain point it seems like there is no criteria to judge ppl on that anyone can agree with. I care about winning. individual players dont win games teams do. individual players can effect winning, they can help their team win but it ultimately cant rely on one person to win and thats what the nuggets were this year. fucking aaron gordon was their second leading scorer so idk why the teams record is seen as jokic's record. you know that if jokic had even one player as good as tobias harris then this would be a different story. that team was sad as hell so sad and he didnt win the mvp because he dragged them up to a six seed, he won because did you fucking see him play. he did everything. be realistic here and consider that even his 30 points 10 assists and 15 rebounds was not going to be what it took for that team to win but what more could he do tbh? I think that theres a lot of bullshit narrative stuff that is part of this award that overrides the actual meaning of the words most valuable player and I would just say that no player was as valuable to their team as jokic. not saying embiid didnt deserve it if he won but for my money no one was as valuable a player as jokic. when the team is better the nuggets are easily my favs to get to the conference finals (at least)
Man you said it beautifully. So much talk about how Embiid is winning more meaningful game, but not about how he wins it compared to Jokic. Jokic having Aaron Gordon as his second option (the only other player to average at least 15 ppg - at 15.0 ppg) shows how reliant on Jokic the Nuggets were. More reliant on than any player. More valuable to a team than any other player.
@@tooforwon241 yeah, i pointed out something like that somewhere last night. Taking out Harden. Seth Curry was their 4th scorer at 15 a game, exactly the amount of the Nuggets 2 guy.

3 points less than Embiid, but 5 assists more, meaning that Jokic produced/contributed to at least 10 points through those assists, that tips the numbers to his favor. At Embiid, the ball is rarely seen. Love this video bro, diehard nuggets fan here. F*ck the haters
Love that Jokic truly represents team basketball and not the Iso ball bs so popular in America
Eh, he's still a ball dominant distributor, one of the best I've ever seen but It's hubs and spokes with him. You wanna see team basketball, look at the team that knocked him out of the playoffs
Media fell in love with embiid so much that it was borderline d riding. They just so salty their narrative failed its hilarious. Jokic was a better playmaker. Shooting and ball handling. Basically same or even better offense than embiid. Improved on defense to be atleast actually good. Sixers were just on more media attention. Perk and jefferson thinks winning matters for mvp. Says guys who prob voted for russ first triple double season. Plus with embiid the injuries are always a concern. People claiming what embiid had to go through with ben simmons. Guys look at what jokic does with both his 2nd and 3rd best players gone.
They've been riding Embiid since he entered the league. They want him to become this player that he'll never become because they have this manufactured fantasy.
Haters gonna hate
I'm a LeBron fan and I'm super happy Jokic is the back to back mvp. Dude is playing basketball the right way, imagine voting for a ft merchant and making arguments like "eye test" and "got that dawg in him" when Embiid flops worse than a soccer player.
I am a huge Luka fan and was calling him over my U of A Wildcat Ayton, but he flops and cries a lot. I am a Wolves fan, Kat is the worst crybaby ever.
I love you man! In this video it's all facts... First one to this kind of story about, my man, the JOCKER!
Embiid didn’t go any further than Jokic 😭😭😭😭
Lol true
The Serbian finesse & precision. 👌💥☆🌟👀 He knows what to do w/ the ball at all times. &, there's no underselling what Jokic did this season, sorry if this hurts you! 🤷♂️ Many, were, & are deserving for different reasons. But, while many were putting up career years. Jokic was putting up a year, unlike anything we've ever seen before. 😉😳🔥
The Finals MVP is attributed to those that go the distance, in the postseason. The player who does the most for his team, in the extra season. ☝💪
Good job with the logic and artistic appreciation
Amazing video
Thank you
No problem! And thank you for the kind words
There is bias but not Racial bias. Now yall stretching this thin.
@@MMALifestyle1972 There may or may not be but there is definitely an irrational bias against Jokic. Both he and Embiid had comparable seasons yet most of the "analysts" who are complaining are treating it as if Embiid was absolutely robbed when it could've gone to either when looking at both of their seasons without any preconceived biases, also the ones who are the most aggressive with their criticism towards Jokic for winning MVP are all african american. If the shoe was on the other foot there would certainly be people bringing up the race card against them.
@@MMALifestyle1972 why are they comparing him to the other side only white back to back mvp? It's difk
Jokic well deserved MVP
I agree with everything you have said 💯 preach it
So glad that Nuggets will have a great chance to win the NBA trophy 🎉
Harden, Maxey, Harris. All would've been the CLEAR number two option in the Nuggets this year. Hell, the way MPJ was playing even if he was healthy he wouldn't have been better than any of these guys.
Edit: Seth Curry would've been the 2 option too.
I have ro say right now, i would consider Maxey as the 76ers own #2 over Harden.
great video bro
Appreciate it!
1st time watching a vid by this channel. Great content 👍
Wow love to hear it! Hope you stick around for more
I'm glad I found your channel, great content, automatically subscribed.
Thank you so much!
This is once again a W video 😂🔥🔥🔥
Jokic is 6'11. He can dribble, shoot from multiple ranges, block shots and pass. What do American basketball players at 6'11 do best ? Dunk and block shots. The NBA is going through what the NHL went through in the 1980's. The European influence is going to be more present inthe NBA.
Its not about Europe. They love Giannis. It's about race numb nuts
Subscribed! Because of this video. Great job!
Thank you! I appreciate the love
This is an amazing vid and the ending was great too 😂
Making a point about the "Morris situation" is the highlight of this video.
Most if not all of these media heads will throw shit at the wall, see if it sticks, and the argument that gets the most "yeah, he's right" nods will become their spin....until like you said, context is applied and they look like clowns. You got the right outlook, it's still sad how they tear down great players but flower up the frauds with viral plays and marketability. It's business I guess, but it's not fact.
@@sexualchocolate7825 nah that’s just social media talk as soon as you put up jokic his numbers they have no arguments at all
@@samomalo9368 yes, but they're majority
This channel is amazing
“Deserves to be the mvp but shouldn’t have won it” is craaaaazzzzyyyyy
The thing is if he had a shooter he'd have 20 asts per game
@@tooforwon241 yeah, i pointed out something like that somewhere last night. Taking out Harden. Seth Curry was their 4th scorer at 15 a game, exactly the amount of the Nuggets 2 guy.
You're right, without Jokić, tje Nuggets would be at the bottom with Rockets.
Great video!
It’s fun to watch joker because anything he shoots can go in, it’s fun watching him take over a game
I love how they keep talking nonsense over and over again, and he keeps proving them wrong over and over again. At the end of the day the numbers speak for themself. It's unseen that somebody can dictate the game so much, and be that efficient, while being 7'0" tall. It's just unfortunate, but makes me personally very happy, that Embiid, Giannis, Luka, KD, Steph are playing in his time, or era, because in any other season they also deserve MVP. Joker is just something else, and unseen...
The league can't figure out how to market Jokic so they market him through manufactured controversy. No player ascends to this level without taking shit.
I for one am glad Jokic has his own skip bayless and I can't wait to see him proven wrong every single year.
I like that mindset. It really drives home that Jokic is forcing these media outlets to cover him even though they'd rather cover other top talents. He's just too good to ignore, so they try to stir the pot
@@tooforwon241 funny thing about it
They literally could market jokic easily.
His nickname is money itself, the fact he was drafted during a taco bell commercial. Could be another taco bell endorsement type of thing
His personality is without a doubt one of the best in the league for a foreign player
They goal shifted instead of “he needs to win” it’s now “he’s stat padding!”.
great vid, keep it up!
I understand them, it is very difficult for them to understand that in order to match him, they will have to know a lot more about the game, than just jumping and dunking. One man changed the game. It will be difficult for anyone to catch up with his stats.
Great video 👍
Nikola will attract players to the team and get the respect he deserves ! I promise you he will get his real glory this upcoming year!
Just how you ended it talking about him pushing Morris got my subscription 😅 f that guy
"The MVP is a promotional award for this league." Imagine complaining about the fact the MVP isn't just a popularity contest.
