Every Lowlight From The Los Angeles Lakers' Most Disappointing Season

  • The Los Angeles Lakers have just been eliminated from the playoff, not even making it to the play-in tournament. A roster that traded away Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Kyle Kuzma & Montrezl Harrell for Russell Westbrook to pair him up with stars Anthony Davis & LeBron James; they were said to be the favorites to win the West. They added more aging players to compound the issues with the team. Despite this, Kendrick Perkins said they could win 70 games. But sadly, the Los Angeles Lakers just had the most disappointing season in franchise history, and here are all the lowlights for you to enjoy

I remember all the experts on ESPN and The Ringer and those other sports shows who predicted the Lakers as the overwhelming favorites after the Westbrook trade. They all jumped on the Lakers bandwagon like pre-teens chasing after the latest Tik Tok sensation. Then just as quickly as they jumped on the bandwagon, they all suddenly abandoned ship and tried to sound as if they predicted all along that this would happen when they saw just what an absolute disaster the Lakers were. The Lakers were the biggest disaster of the 2021-22 season and a distant second would be the Nets. I have to give credit to Charles Barkley though for getting it right and questioning how the Lakers could succeed with all these old players.

They put a bunch of players who were physically gifted specimens in they’re primes but can’t shoot worth a damn, Lebron was 1 of the best shooters on that team and he’s spotty at best. I was never really a big fan of LeBron’s and I could never stand Westbrook, so I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been so spoiled as a Lakers fan or what, but I also really enjoyed watching them fail this season. It’s just a shame that the most vocal Lakers fans happen to be idiots. Every fan base has them, but I think that the Lakers fan base is so large, we could fill other teams arenas with our idiots.

They all recognized how much defense the Lakers gave up in the trade. They recognized how bad the Lakers' shooting and spacing was going to be. They recognized that Westbrook was a bad a fit with another ball dominant player like LeBron, and that he was past his prime. I stopped caring about basketball awhile ago as I've gotten older and don't have time to watch games and I starting caring less when LeBron showed up. Before the bubble title, the Lakers had won 10 championships in my lifetime so I'm good. This embarrassment doesn't bother me a bit and it shouldn't bother any other fan close to my age because we have been so spoiled with both the Showtime Lakers of the 80's and the Shaq/Kobe Lakers of the 00's plus the 2 titles without Shaq.

Lots of videos of him just hanging around the 3 point line on offense or not getting back on defense. Saw one video where he was off camera for over 30 seconds while the rest of the Lakers played defense 4 on 5. He is lucky his shooting touch is still good otherwise that probably wouldn't work out for him for long on offense.

In fact, I would argue that they make their team worse in the long run. Both are great and could will their team to win a few games when they were younger.
