This is a huge factor in their success: Jok's passing ability requires every teammate on the floor to stay locked in at all times, no sleeping. That focus bleeds onto the other end of the court too.
His teammate said you get used to it quickly. When you are in training and the ball suddenly hits you in the head. After few times you are expecting it to come.

Jokic is the best passer of all time. He's better than Magic, Pistol Pete, Bird, Stockton, Nash, Kidd, and centers have never been Jokic's competition. There is no disputing that Jokic is the best player in Denver. People just need to get used to the new reality.

No. Best passers in history were Magic, CP3, Isiah, Oscar, and Kidd, in that order. Jokic isn’t even IN history yet. The no-look pass is why Magic is called Magic. Jokic’s touch pass is good, but not as good as Bird’s. Jokic is an excellent passer. Way too early to say he’s among the best in history.
@@thernly Nah, not too early to say he's AMONG the best in history. But it is too early to say THE best. The names you both listed are legendary for a reason. But the fact that you can already make a 30 minute highlight film like this of just his best assists is telling. I'd already put him in the top 10 without hesitation.

He's the closest thing I'll ever get to seeing a modern Larry Bird.
I want to take this and the Larry Bird best passes compilation and build a comparison video showing them.
Joker looks like he's a match for Larry when it comes to static passing, and almost as good when off ball and on the move, which is huge as Larry's Bird is thr best off-ball on-the-move passer of all time.
Joker still has a few years to develop too, so he may end up surpassing Larry Legend as a pure passer.
Magic still has the highest career win%, with Larry about 9 wins behind despite his far inferior team - I wonder as his team keeps improving whether joker can start to really push up that win % stat and get into the same ballpark.
Only those passes that didn't make it into this video are proof that Jokic is the best passer of all time.
Of all his qualities, and there are an incredible number of them, in my opinion the greatest is that he taught his teammates not to be selfish, but to subordinate the game to the team.

I used to watch as many Boston games as possible when Bird played. At least once every game Bird did something phenomenal either passing or shooting. I think Jokic has more Bird moments than Bird had. He's a better passer than Bird. Jokic also has one of the best shoulder bumps in history. The guy thought he was blindsided by a truck. LMAO
What I love about these passes is that they are only as fast as necessary. Most of the passes are soft lobs to the precise point where the teammate can catch it easily and focus on the shot. Often I see passes where the player forces it into a tight window with too much velocity and the player has to focus on catching the pass first which takes away from focusing on the shot. Probably adds a few assists every game.

One seasons worth of Jokic passing highlights is the equivalent of most all time great passers’ career highlights.
Some of that has to do with the increased spacing and less physicality. But most of it is because he is simply one of the top 3 passers who ever lived. Honestly, I think Magic is the only guy with an argument against him.
He makes the term "eyes on one's back" a bit too literal for comfort xD

@@Halfdozengp That's what I'm saying. People are starting to understand how great he is - but ppl havent yet wrapped their head around the fact Jok could become top 10 or even top 5 all time. Easily one of the most unique ballers ever, and is an absolute offensive juggernaut - just needs some rings.

Notice that his teammates are All moving without the ball. They know where to be so the joker is not really guessing. He anticipates the breaks for the basket his teammates will make

He is literally making sure that every single teammate eats. Look at some of their faces when dunking lmao. They just need to cut, run breaks, or sit at the 3pt line. He will throw lobs to Gordon or Faried, throw no look or sling pass to KCP, Morris, Murray, MPJ... at the 3pt line, throw waterpolo full court pass (on time and on target) to Brown, Green, Braun, whoever is running fastbreak , throw no look, over the shoulder, behind the back, bounce pass to all of them cutting.
a lot of guys can make the right pass to the open guy but he makes the right pass whether its open or not doesnt seem to stop him from getting you the ball at the right time Evan when your defended amazing
As a "chubby" guard back home, back in the day, came in handy in the pros.
Fundamentally, Euro basketball coaches' requires them to be efficient in passing, ball handling, use of both hands. Definitely using them now.

It doesn't seem worth it to double or triple team the Big Boy. He's jsut going to find someone for an easy layup or a wide open three. Better to make him shoot the ball himslef, because he's going to miss once in a while.

Joker is maybe the most unique player in NBA history; certainly the most complete player in the last 40-50 years...and the most unique I have seen. Pick any current player in the NBA to build a team around...who would it be?
I would build around Jokic, Steph, or Giannis. Them 3 I seen can elevate their play whoever they face and get their teammates involved.
They care about winning and their teammates elevate their play when they on the floor with them. They can impact on other areas, don’t need to be scoring.

Sorry he looks clunky to me. He is a great passer, but he just looks uncoordinated. Plus he travels almost every time he makes a move to the basket
He looks clunky but... so what? He actually has some of the best handles for a big man, is one of the top scorers in the league, generates amazing plays (even if he usually isn't the one dunking), is an underrated defender, top notch rebounder, and elevates his whole team to play better at all times. Nugs are fun to watch, and it's because of Jokic.
