Thank you for watching our Acura ILX front bumper cover installation video. This is technically our part 2 video. If you want to learn how to remove the bumper, there is a link at the end of the video. Removing the bumper and installing it is essentially the same process, just in reverse. You don't need to watch this video unless your bumper is missing or you just love watching "how-to" videos. Luckily, you are in the right place. We love making these install videos for folks that like to do the work themselves. We also love to work with local customers because it's a nice break from just shipping parts across the country.
    TOOLS NEEDED:
You will need a 10mm wrench, socket wrench, or impact gun for all the bolts. You will also need a panel clip removal tool. If you do not have one, that is okay. You can substitute a flat-head screwdriver instead. Lastly, you will need a Philips screwdriver for the screws on the bumper ends.
    PROCESS:
We hope you watched our first video on how to remove the ILX bumper cover. If not, it's okay, there is really not much to it. Once we had the bumper off, we can now begin to transfer all of the pieces or accessories to the new ILX bumper cover. We started with the lower engine shield because it's the largest piece. There are a couple screws securing it, but once those are out, you can un-clip the part. We then moved to the fog lights for fog light covers. All Acura ILX's will have open space on the bumper. It's up to you to get the car with the foglights or plain covers. This one has the covers but it is not different from having foglights. You just have to unplug the lights and unscrew them, just a minor difference. We then removed the top grille. The grille is a 2-piece part and it has this bracket on the inside that needs to be removed. It has 4 screws and the grille itself is clipped into the bumper. Our bumper was damaged in the accident, so it was a bit annoying for us. You probably won't have such a hard time. Now, it's time to transfer over all the parts to the newly painted bumper. This should be pretty simple, just think as if you are working in reverse. Make sure you have all the screws and, or clips to put back. This bumper is pretty pointy, so when it's upside down, the bumper tends to flex outward which may cause the grille to not line up correctly. Make sure you insert the grille from the face of the bumper gently snapping it into place. Once the grille is in, you can secure it with screws. The rest of the pieces should slide in or clip in easily.
Mounting the bumper is a pretty quick process. Start from the middle out, or make sure the top of the bumper is sitting fine and insert one bolt to hold it in place. Then snap the bumper in below the headlights and under the fender. Just give it a good push and it will snap right in. Insert all the screws and clips. Lastly, secure the bottom engine guard or plate. This is 4 bolts and about 6-8 clips. You did it, you're all done!

Hello and we are not sure, since we didn't remove the headlight. The bolts are typically 10mm bolts and probably around 2-3 bolts. Thank you for watching!

You don’t have to take it off completely. Maybe more to do with how it came off. Bracket or something bent. Send me a picture
