Why are so many parents in Norway claiming that the state is kidnapping their children? With a 70% spike in recent cases and accusations of racial intolerance, are their children being saved, or stolen?
“The hardest thing was to come home empty handed”, says mother of two, Natasha Olsen. Her children were taken from hospital within hours of birth by Barnevernet, Norway's Child Protection Service. "Barnevernet told me that I had been diagnosed as mentally disabled, that I could not take care of the children" says Olsen. Her children were returned seven months later, only after Natasha successfully disproved her diagnosis. Samson Dejene, a single father of Ethiopian descent, believes his children have been taken by Barnevernet on the basis of racial discrimination. "When a person is from Africa, it's very common to think that these people spank their kids", he says, as Norway is listed as one of 42 countries in which spanking is illegal. Now 170 professionals have petitioned Norway's Government against an overly cautious system, as 1500 children are re-homed each year. "I see that the government have taken children away without good reason. It is traumatising." says psychologist and Barnevernet whistleblower Einar Salvesen. "They are stolen children, of course".

I'm a Norwegian and I'm appalled. Barnevernet has been acting like a modern version of Gestapo for way too long already. The fact of the matter is that it's a billion dollar industry in Norway, where private profiteers are able to enrich themselves with the blessings of government officials. How so.? Because if a family or single mother faces hardships, it's considered an expense to the local social services if they were to render any support. If, on the other hand, the children are removed from the parents, social services will receive $$$$$ from the federal government. One can only speculate as to the extent of it, but I tend to believe that quite a few people up the food-chain, have their hands deeply planted in the honey jar here.

The story in the film “Mrs. Chaterjee vs Norway” is a true story. This family is not the only immigrants who have had terrible experiences from “Barnevern” in Norway. Many children have been taken from their parents for no logical reason.

They used to do this in communist Hungary. After numerous reports of kids mysteriously dying in state care Hungarian men got together, set up locations to call in and report child abuse cases. The agents would come to investigate and the men would ambush them, usually by hanging on trees to send a statement. Only aftee 6 months of this the agency collapsed with fear and was officially disbanded.

Here in the US it's all about class. I was adopted from another country and raised in a wealthy New England family. My adoptive mother passed away when I was 16 and after that my adoptive dad cut us off. We were subjected to insane physical, emotional and sexual abuse that has me with a solid diagnosis of complex ptsd. My brother became a phd somehow
But I became a drug addict. I have now been clean 8 years but they still took the rights to my 13 year old last year. It's Christmas Eve today and I miss her so deeply. I have had a serious but mysterious illness going on two years now where I have lost 80 lbs only from being sick to my stomach. I can barely leave the house. When I lived in the wealthy family growing up, the police were called but my parents were never in trouble even when we had broken bones and black eyes. I have never hurt my child. In fact she was the only 12 year old I knew who never really had television, or video games. She grew up with art, music, and books. She is an artist way ahead of her time and is amazingly intelligent. My crime and the crime of many parents in my area is solely poverty. My daughter never was without food, clothes and shelter. She has always been safe. Thing is, growing up in wealthy America I didn't even know it was legal to remove children from homes. I didn't think it was real. My brother is a current alcoholic and is quite an angry fellow who most definitely hits his 5 year old son but he will never be involved with DCF like I have been because of his class only. It's bullshit. I hope in America WE can bring people together to protest this injustice so our children can be raised with their parents and not be moved around from unsafe foster home to unsafe foster home until they turn 18. I miss and love my daughter with all of my heart. I stand with all of you fighting against this!

Our goverment interved and if they don't realease them we will break contracts with Denmark firms and put drastic measureas against Denmark companies because this has gone long enough and already caused a major diplomatic incident.

They take children from christian families, muslim families, secular families, all families. As long as you are not 100% perfect according to the modern Norwegian state's idea of a family, they can take your children.
Muslims think "they are taking our children to make them christian", christians think "they are taking our children to make them hate god", both have a point but it's not true. They want the children to be Norwegian state citizens/taxpayers/consumers, a state like this doesn't like ANY religion or culture. If I as an Odinist homeschooled my children here while being open about our culture and spirituality, you can bet BV will come knocking within five minutes. No one is safe from them, anything you do can be construed as "unfit parents".
