    Hi Dan as always good videos. A Vapour blaster is a great addition to your arsenal. By the way I’m in Brisbane I’ve been following you since you began your first build. I’m also into custom bike building restorations and you’ve taught me quite a few tricks thank you. I’ve built my own vapour blaster from one of those trade tools dry sand blasting cabinets I bought the plans for it from I think Damien enterprises from NZ he sells home made nozzles and how to build , so I fished out $10 bucks and had a go best I’ve ever done. I’ve made mine with a bucket underneath the hopper which houses the pump for ease of changing blast media. Take out the pump change media add water reset and go takes another 5 to 10 minutes. I’m building 1984 K100 RS I’m at wiring stage haven’t started yet but will do this week pending time. It’s because of your videos I went with moto gadget blue led lights mirrors and the list goes on. Thank you for being an inspiration to us all.
    Regards John

    Your vids are great, methodical, and excellent for informing and educating.

    Had the same issue with FAD , then decided to reinvent the wheel , I no longer use compressed air and use compressed water 😎👍 I built my vapour blaster for under $2K and could of done it cheaper but chose to modify my existing hare & forbes blasting cabinet that cost me $1300 been blasting for 40 years and my advice is to experiment with different blast media and mixes 👍

  • @chiefpepdesign
    @chiefpepdesign Před 3 lety +1

    Wow great! And this is so coincidental! I really made a study out of the vaporblasters last year since I vaporblasted my previous project. I wanted to do the upcoming ones and parts myself. Outsoarcing it is very expensive. The big aircompressor which needs 380 volts was my biggest issue (together with the size of the thing). And these blasters cost a fortune. There are only two companies in Holland who do commercial vaporblasting which demonstrates how unique the technique is. The most important benefit is that this technique slaps the metal surface flat rather than opening it up which is done with for instance sandblasting. Therefore you bring your material back in original state and keep it protected from the elements and it won't rust. Btw, were you inspired by my vapor blasted engines? I am pretty sure I told you about it the other day?

    • @CafeRacerGarage
      @CafeRacerGarage  Před 3 lety

      Hi mate it’s been a long time 😋. Hope you are well, yes it is very unique and I remember us talking about it :) I’ve got loads of people interested in it as well as want parts blasted. @@CafeRacerGarage I too thought to help some people out when I would have the cabinet. Loads and loads of people would be helped with the parts vapor blasted. Especially when we only have two people in Holland where you can bring your parts to. I upload some bike related video's once in a while. I have some great ones comming up where I will upgrade my ST1300 dashboard with different color LED's. There is no DIY video on CZcams for that so people are dying to see it if I beleive the forums and comments. And my Chiefpep #2 isn't sold yet... So need space and cashflow first before starting a new one 😉

    If you're not already using it, I'd suggest picking up a bottle of Rustlick B. Its a concentrated rust inhibitor that you add a little bit to your tank water and any steel parts blasted in the tank won't flash rust. It works great. A gallon of it will last you for some time.

    So, if you had three compressors already, why didn't you just run two of them at the same time and plumb them together?

    • @CafeRacerGarage
      @CafeRacerGarage  Před 3 lety

      Yes but It would need to run them flat out all the time and that will not be good for long term use

    OI OI OI.
    Mate, those side mirrors you got, I bought the same ones for my gs500 (We spoke about it on Instagram). This could potentially be another video on a potential CafeRracerG method of fixing a cheapo side mirror, but, I had a kid walk too close to my side mirror and it pushed it way out of whack, when i realigned the mirror, i noticed that the mirrors were very loose now, long story short, the paint around the bearing joint wore away, so now i'm looking at a type of rubber or some sort of solution.

      Hey brother it’s best to jump on their website or shoot them an email/phone call, I don’t work for the company so I’m unsure what the exact prices are for each model, however, they are very and helpful in making sure you get the right machine for you, and their customer service is next level 😁
