A thousand views in and not one hater among the comments yet 😉
Wait for it....
Porsche sucks
:)
yeah, never heard anyone in the know who has said they suck. Maybe they aren't my thing is about the worst.
Johan smells of rotten duck feathers.
They hide in fear of getting roasted.
"or finger or whatever" you're the nicest guy on CZcams...
When you flick between the two cars interiors. Yours looks so much cleaner and more modern.
The wheels looks 10x better than they do on the config.
I thought they looked lame on the config, but I really like them in real life.
And easier to clean. Its my favorite wheel
The best part of waking up, is Nick Murray in your cup !
Correct the 4 pipes are so better looking.
but the Porsche sports exhaust is switchable on/off ;-) I wouldn't buy any Porsche anymore without that option.... it really makes you smile a lot.
Ralf Peppekus it's not the sound, it's the look. Those twins pipes make the back end look ugly. Where as the rest of the car is a piece of art
You got a point there. It depends then on the visual aesthetics from outside vs the fun while being inside the car. Tough call indeed.
Ralf Peppekus absolutely - maybe Porsche need to come up with a way you can have the best of both?
How can you not love the Golf R32 Replica sports exhaust?
Don't tell Kevin but your interior blows his away.
venom5809 My thoughts exactly.
yeah really, black interiors genericize cars so much
What are you guys seeing that I'm not? Straight away I think boat interior with Nicks colours
He did a big mistake choosing the carbon fibre package. Black interiors need brushed aluminium!
Nick, one day let Kevin take us through his car. Let him explain why he got what he did. Poor chap is getting a beating here in the comments section and you know the famous saying - The absent are always guilty!
Imagine spending 3k to have 2 tail pipes removed lol. It's looks SO MUCH BETTER with the quad pipes
Wow. The rear wheel well hips are fucking beautiful on this model. It has that almost exaggerated cartoon-like look to it. Hands down, it's pure art. And, a beautiful exterior color, too. Excellent choices on the options.
I love the look of the interior on your Porsche. Yours stands out (in a good way). The black interior may be more popular, but it's a bit bland for my tastes.
Bland and a bit dismal, since it makes the interior so dark. I like the brighter interior too!
Nick, I love your channel. I'm an airline pilot saving my pennies for my dream 911 GT3 RS. Keep up the good work man!
The 4 tailpipes looks soo much better than 2! wheels also look amazing!
Thanks for sharing this much Nick! Really, it means a lot to hear your thoughts on configuring the car, and I much adore all of the options you've picked.
I get to pick up my new 911 later this week, and I am super excited! Great videos Nick, I have watched all of your previous ones, and found them helpful in helping me decide what to get in mine. I hope you get lots of fun out of your new car
Way to revive an old thread lol. Yeah, runs great. I bought a 991.1 C2S. I now have 102k KM on the car, no issues yet. I also track it once a month as well
I spend a lot of time on the configurator (dreaming lol), every 911 I spec has close to $45k in options... many of which I believe should be standard on a car like this.
Yup. That`s why I bought a Cayman S with 40k worth of options.
cool! 981 or 718?
+Muiz “muizawan” Awan 981 is a 718 dumbass
fahad alrudidni 982 is the 718, not 981.
Nick, I have my own editing to do, this is gonna delay me for another 35 mins and 36 seconds!!!
Today I was in a Porsche dealership and I saw Targa 4s in Miami blue with red interior the car was hideous
Btw your spec is beautiful
Jesus, that sort of thing happens all the time, I bet it was someones idea of a great combo.
Nick, I love your attention to detail. You're a man of style and substance.
Greg Wallis With that hair? Really?
Good choice with xenon headlights. LED are just design. The power is lower. XENON for the win!!! You can also customize them. Different color or better projectors no problem there.
I really enjoy your videos Nick. It is very nice that you share part of your life with all of us. Also, I'm in love with your Porsche haha. Best wishes for you!
Love all the options Nick! Great insight on 18-way vs 14-way seats. I agree with your thoughts of the xenon lights looking better and rear wiper being a great option. I am one of those people that loves the sport exhaust look but the quad pipes look great on yours too!
Looking forward to you taking it for a spin Matt
4 pipes looks sooooooo much better
I agree but unfortunately PSE is a must
Love the sound of PSE, but like 4 pipes does look better, Its fine thought, I would just get the fabspeed exhaust with sport cats.
Regarding the xenon vs led lights after living with both - one situation you might prefer to have xenons over led is during snow storms. I've had issues where the led's don't produce enough heat to melt snow/ice that accumulates over the headlights.
Likely the best resource on the youtubes for configuring a 991.2 build, between this and previous videos. Excellent production quality as usual, and personally I love your car. Seems many people configure as though they are using it 90% track/10% street because that's what the forums push even though the reality is probably the opposite if even that. You make a compelling case that a 991 configured for comfort is still plenty sporty but so much more daily driveable.
I love the way you talk about each car as if "this one, this is the one for life", we all know you'll be driving the next generation M4 :)
Saw the car on the Post Rd today. I saw a blue Porsche, whipped my head around and saw the rear wiper and the decal. It looks awesome on the road!
Faster does not equal fun, hard truth
Excellent video as always Nick. Enjoy the new 911, you've earned it with hard work!
absolutely love that you went totally personal on spec. looks amazing inside and out
12:40 The seats of your friends car already look used, doesn't he have a 2017 model?
Thought the same thing..
My exact thought too.
i think the black more soft leather wears out way faster than "normal leather" , my A7 with the valcona leather already showed some wear after 2 months.
That's just unacceptable. With a 146k price tag, I expect more craftsmanship.
I think those are just dust type scratches that can easily clean off. Thing is tho, leather seats especially fine leather seats needs treated with good leather cleaning&conditioning products. if you just clean it with water and regular towel, it will end up like this or even worse if you dont take care of them at all . it's the exactly same thing to high end leather handbags etc. it's leather not titanium. just IMO :)
I agree with you on the exhaust. I actually think it's really stupid that that made the sport exhaust only have 2 pipes and the standard has 4. To someone who isn't knowledgeable about cars they would think the standard exhaust is fancier! 4 is always better than 2 ;)
The lemon was a blessing in disguise. You got your true dream car in this configuration.
Love, love, love the color choices on exterior and interior. Congrats.
Fantastic video Nick. I am really looking forward to the headlight comparison. I think it would be very good for future buyers, and also possibly do alot of hits since no one has done it before.
I would agree with you, I'd prefer the HID over LED any day!
Love the options, color scheme and the manual transmission you picked Nick. Thanks for the video and in depth overview of your car's options. Looking forward to more!
Seems like an awesome. honest and simple guy. You earned my sub! Love the way you do your videos too!
With all honesty, this is one very underrated channel. Lovely work Nick! Much respect for all your work from Beirut, Lebanon.
This was oddly satisfying to watch. :-D
I support the rear wiper decision! I'm also American, so hey, fancy that.
Thanks for all your help and vids Nick. I have an F80 M3 at the moment and so watched your M4 experience with interest. And I'm now speccing out a 911 GTS and so your thoughts on configuration and options have been much appreciated
So happy that the new car is everything that you have hoped for.
It's beautiful and you sound well satisfied.
thank you! someone who doesn't like carbon fiber!!
YEah, his buddies car would have looked better with the aluminum trim.
Ziich leather, Alcantara (in small amounts), aluminum, and wood are my favorite trim in cars. Nothing like getting in a luxury car and seeing beautiful wood, leather, and aluminum everywhere.
I love the leather package in 911s
The car is lovely. The only thing I would have wanted done differently would have been looking into if it was possible to get it without any badges on the back. I never cared much for that whole "1.9" or "M2" stuff they put on all cars. It just looks cleaner and more elegant to me that way.
Nick you have the nicest Interior color combo on an Porsche I have seen. very nice!
Super detail and cool video. Good stuff Nick!
Your configuration is the best I have ever seen. Well thought out and so special with fine little details. And btw. the rear wiper it's the coolest thing ever + kinda looks old school.
What would you have not gotten?
👍 for the shirt
Nick, every time I've ever configured any 911 I always went with the night blue exterior with chalk/blue sport Tex interior. When I saw your car I flipped it looks even better than I imagined it would! Motivates me to keep working and stacking the chips up!! Thanks!!
Rear window wiper is a no brainer! I totally agree. Form follows function. I'm so glad that Porsche still offers them, despite so many people not liking it.
Interior looks stunning!
Love the content you're posting! Beautiful car, totally pure!
Love your videos Nick please keep them coming mate
after finishing the video, i think if i were to order a 911, id get it exactly how you got it, hoenstly you picked the best choices
there must be one thing you wouldn't have got! what is it?
Hey Nick, I was just wondering, how long did it take for Porsche to build the spec you asked for? I'm thinking about getting a 911 Carrera GTS with my own configuration, but if the time is too long, I may buy a spec inside the dealership. Love the interior of your car by the way, I never saw any 911 like it.
The build/delivery is normally 2 months but your dealership needs to have model slot at the factory, that can add months.
2 months!? Holy moly, it's 4 months where I live.
An excellent video. Well done nick for taking the time to share your valued thoughts with us.
Granted I'm a quite bit away from ordering a 911, seeing your realistic approach to options really grounded my expectations in terms of options! Thanks for the great video again, Nick
4 pipes looks way better then 2.
8 look better than 4 tho
Chris Smith Wonder why dual quad pipes never caught on lol
Chris Smith 16 or go home
I don't know about that^
Nick, your configurations are way better than Kevin's. typical all black interior is simply boring, and his wheels don't really fit the smooth rounded design of the 911.
Congrats on the new car. Luv the way it's configured. I like the wheels more the I thought I would. I luv your videos! Keep up the good work!
I LOVE the spec on your 911! Very good job Nick!
Nick.. Long time stalker, first time commenter.. Dude, you look tired/ill my man.. You okay man? Take some time off. I know the feeling of getting the new car bug too! But you really look beat down! Take car of yourself! You just don't seem like yourself. We will be here when you get yourself back to on path. Take care of your health! :-)
Thanks brother!
Tui will ruin that white interior. I like dogs myself, but a dog in a 911? no no :)
MemoryLaneCinema It worked very well in the M4 which had white leather as well... I dont think there will be any trouble as long as he doesnt let Tui do anything in his car :D
Maybe get him some shoes and a diaper.
"Dogs > cars" -Nick
As Willy Lamb said, Dogs>Cars
MemoryLaneCinema I thought that was his wife?!
I personally love the way you configured the car.
Interior and exterior flows so well together. Porsche FTW
It's March 2021 and I finally got a Porsche 911. It's a 2017 Carrera in graphite blue metallic.
It's loaded with options. MSRP was $121,000 now it's $85,991 I love it. Thank you Nick for all your videos and advice.
I don't see a lot of people talking about the entry and drive system. You pay extra to make your car less safe lol.
It's even funnier if you know how it works. I don't know if there was a lawsuit but even on the webpage they state that this system is less secure than the regular key system.
BTW I like a rear wiper and it's really useful but I hate how it looks on a Porsche
I love the entry and drive system. I’ve never had it before, and it is the dollop of whipped cream on the coffee.
So how does it feel to own a soulless 911 without a N/A flat 6 sound?
Rather good!
Okay, but is the trade off of better torque and worse sound really worth losing the epic sound of the N/A flat 6 and the possibility to rev it out more often? To me it just feels boring as there is no more drama in the sound other than the air being blown out.
BearM304 Birds of a feather flock together.
Nick you thought out the options so well. I'm very happy for you!
Great spec! Love that you were "brave", interior looks amazing!
Nicks shirts
from what i hear manuals tend to hold value better
Super helpful and fun, thanks Nick. Both cars are sweet. Your interior looks pretty amazing!
As always, a great video.Beautiful car Nick.
"There is one wrong color"
*_chooses my color_
DANGIT
I think I'm sexually attracted to your car. Damn nice
Tobias I knew it!
I had to search your videos for your review on the 991.2. We just picked up a CPO C2 Cab with 8000 miles. I trust and enjoy your reviews. Thanks for everything Nick ?
nick your 911 is just perfect ... really i wouldnt know what to change!
Where's Becky?
The back of the seats is plastic to protect it from getting scratched from whoever, or whatever goes on the back seats. In most cars that part is plastic. Also rear whippers are fine on golfs but you just ruined the perfectly scalpted rear of your 911 with that ugly thing. It's an expensive, exotic sportscar, practicality comes after looks.
Finally was looking forward to this the hole freaking weekend.
Finally a stylish and interesting 911 configuration! Well done Nick. I'm a huge fan of the wheels, the interior, the exhaust and most important, the rear wiper! A classic detail! :-)
Black interior boring an dull!
You've made me a huge fan of "deviated stitching"!!! Bought my Cayman S used, so I didn't have that choice.
Watched most of your vids (in random order), and your enthusiasm is infectious. I only wish you were obsessed with Caymans instead of 911s, so I could enjoy your videos even more. Keep up the good work. 👍🏽
Your t-shirts are giving me life!!
love your video. lots of good insights, especially for someone in the market for a 911
Sport Tech seats...chalk white and blue gray interiors, don't go black - makes it look gloomy and ghoulish inside. I am starting to sound like Nick already.
I really like your content. I don't know why but I like to listen to you. Your 'I like it that's the most important / there's no wrong color"-attitude really shows that you are a down to earth man. And it's just great to get such inside the ordering process of a 911 :-)
What a great vid Nick! Totally agree on the Sport Exhaust with you. And the most important thing is that you like it the way it is. Looking forward to your rear wheels steering vid.
Thumbs up for that Talk Talk intro, Nick you keep on rocking!
Congrats Nick: very nice choices ! Enjoy.
Thanks for this extensive detailed video Nick!
Nick.... I love your videos. You give honest opinions on the cars you drive. Sometimes i don't agree, but like you always say " to each his own". I love those seats and exterior combo. I hope to order a 911 from the factory one day. Your breakdown of the options was very helpful. Enjoy the car, you should be losing sleep, do to excitement.... lol
Nick,
Positively wonderful video. Good input regarding the 18 way seats.
Superb build; lovely.
I stumbled on this and loved it. Great job! Nick, the wheels you have are by far the best and has a profound impact on the aesthetics. I have a Silver 2017 4S w those same wheels and ppl always comment on them. I wld have paid double for those wheels -far better than Kevin’s. Also, you’re spot on w the GT3 and turbo. If I were 15 maybe I wld feel otherwise.
Hi Nick,
Been following your logs and just wanna say "great work" !,
Besides porsche salesmen It is always very useful to listen to outside sources.
I personally think your choice on the options was daring but it appeared to be very balanced in total. WELL DONE !
You are helping out other potential Porsche buyers a lot i think .
Me for example learned from you (not only) that options like PDCC and PASM are not very usefull(on C4S).
Im getting my C4s (GT Silver) this saturday and yes i played more safe but got the 18 way seats , PDK, and sport exhausts :-)
Al in all if i compare your options with mine i think im am very good.
Anyways
Thank you for contributing , keep up the good work.
Greetings from Belgium
Sam
"Is it all the way in??"? A story behind that it just interesting taste? Speaking of taste, amazing configuration! I love you interior choice, very unique, worked out very well!
Love this video Nick. So much better to see the options for real than the configurator renderings. Also, much respect for going for what you want, rather than following the herd!
Great detailed vid.....thanks Nick!!
I love your spec Nick! Incredibly unique and elegant.
I'm in love with your interior!!!
Amazing specs! Rear wiper rules! The interior colour is just mua~ Congratulations again Nick!
Nick, hello from the UK. Loving your chosen spec, I was sceptical at first but it looks awesome inside and out and pleased for you as you didn't follow the heard. Keep the vids coming, enjoying being part of your journey. I hope Porsche are sitting up and listening to real reviews.
