I have to say I’ve been stopped and ridiculed at British security for bringing in a jar of Vegemite, bought at Duty Free complete with security clearance. That didn’t stop them holding me up for a good half hour, forcing me to race for my plane to France!
Me too ! I've been stopped UK side and had Marmite confiscated .. Totally agree. Vegimite is actually better. My Aussie mates certainly prefer it over marmite. Though if they can’t get Vegemite, they are grateful for marmite!😄 But my total favourite is bovril. Two reasons, firstly and mainly it makes the most delicious drink that the others can’t do and is really beefy which I prefer to just salty. So it has a more umami flavour, I think. But mostly because it’s actually incredibly good at healing irritable gut. It contains the proteins your gut lining needs that are in bone stock that help to repair leaky gut that results from gluten intolerance which I get.. so it goes really well with a gut friendly diet.
