    Max Verstappen reacts to the Abu Dhabi GP. He watches back Sergio Perez defending against Lewis Hamilton to help him catch up. That was one of the best battles and definitely helped Max win the championship this year.
    Max Verstappen is the 2021 F1 World Champion, winning the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in grand fashion after passing Lewis Hamilton for the lead in the final lap due to a late safety car restart.

    • @JohnnyMaverik
      @JohnnyMaverik Před rokem +4

      Don't try to rewrite history bro. Perez is a great driver and I'm a big fan but in the past he had some issues with over aggressive driving and was rightly penalized on multiple occasions for causing on track collisions. When I say in the past I mean pre red bull days, back in his Force India seat (note I said Force India, not Racing Point, by then he was starting to clean up and perfect his game). This is neither unusual for a F1 driver or particularly note worthy, he gained experience and learned how to defend on the line with out crossing it, which is what you are seeing him do in this video.
      As for Lewis moaning, flip the cars and have Bottas (lol) doing that to Max, he would whine over radio as well. I say that not because I'm a huge Lewis fan and hate Max, far from it I am just an older F1 fan who likes to watch the story unfold over the season, I've heard Max complain over the radio about other drivers many a time, sometimes legitimately, sometimes not. I have seen Max do things, especially when he was younger, that was not fair, same as any of the greats when they were younger. It was less a legit complaint and more the frustrated moaning of somebody who feels like they are being shown up a bit and don't like it. Max has done it, Lewis has done it, Rosberg has done it, Raikonnen, LeClerc, Sainz, Webber, Alonso is the bloody master of it (and I say that with genuine affection). Find a driver that has done anything of note in F1 during the years of broadcasting team radio, you can find a clip of them having a moan when somebody defends hard and they get frustrated.

    Many people miss the fact that Verstappen gave full credit and then some to Perez for defending for his life and disabling Hamilton of having a free pit stop essentially. The Merc was so much faster that day, it felt like the gap in 2018 Merc had over everyone but Ferrari. That's very mature of him that he doesn't try to hide that fact. But also one thing he and everyone in their right mind knows is that he would have been champion long before abu dhabi if not for the bowling Bottas and Hamilton did with the Red Bull cars back in the Euro races. Red Bull would have probably been WCC as well if not for hungary and Silverstone AT LEAST... Also the further DNF's for Perez crippled them even more and they didn't finish that far off in the WCC. If anyone got lucky over the full course of the season it's Mercedes. Or rather they made their own luck with the FIA's full backing... Until Abu Dhabi LOL. Karma at its finest.

      Nice essay my dude, here is my response:
      Can't tell if totally deluded or just stupid to be entirely frank, likely a mix of the two. Funny how you claim the FIA were trying to feed Lewis and Merc the championship when the only reason Max won that race, the race that won it all, is due to a dodgy safety car restart on the final lap of the final race. If they were really team Lewis, would they not just finished under the safety car regardless of whether or not they really should have? If they were team Lewis would they not restart with out letting any lapped drivers get out of the way since there wasnt time and have what, a five car buffer between Max and Lewis? You really think they did a restart after only allowing the cars between Max and Lewis unlap themselves, for the final lap, with Max on fresh tires and Lewis on very used tires, because they are team Lewis?
      I'm not suggesting they were team Max btw, I just think Masi got caught up in the moment and didn't want to ruin the final race with safety car nonsense and in so doing made a mockery of the rules that are there for a reason. What I am suggesting is you are really dumb. It's such a shame, I have watched Max from his first season to now and I have to keep reminding myself to separate Max, a driver I have enjoyed watching develop into a champion, from his asshole fans (not all of them, just a vocal group of them) that want to turn F1 into a right vs left wing debate and introduce football style "banter" into a sport where most existing fans don't even have a driver or team they expressly support, they have a few favorites but ultimately they just want to see the story of each season unfold.
      Can you kindly f off and go watch PSG win the champions league or some such nonsense as we get on enjoying F1 and being able to talk about it with out constantly hearing the memes 24/7.

    • @JohnnyMaverik
      @JohnnyMaverik Před rokem

      He already knows it isn't easy, if you had been watching for any appreciable time you would know that. He didn't win all 7 back to back, remember he has only won 6 at Mercedes and was beaten by his teammate and another great driver Rosberg over a very, very close season that went down to the final race (although it was no where near as dramatic a race as this one, although still pretty dramatic with Lewis leading and desperately trying to back up the entire field whilst holding off Rosberg hoping he would be overtaken and allow him to win the title instead). His first world championship, won with McLaren was won on the final lap of the final race of the season as well. If you want to love this sport, learn it's history, if you can't be bothered fine but don't talk as if you know it when you plainly know very little.
