  • In Pokemon Let's GO Pikachu and Let's GO Eevee, you get to battle a trio of some of the strongest trainers, and champions in the Pokemon universe. Red, Blue and Green! All the battles you have against them will be some of the toughest in the game and part of that comes from their unique teams! By why do they have these Pokemon for their team? Why does Red have Venusaur, Blue have Charizard, and Green have Blastoise? Shouldn't Red have Charizard, Blue have Blastoise, and Green have Venusaur? Nope! Because their teams are inspired from the Pokemon Adventures Manga and the video games! But don't worry, we answer those questions and a whole lot more in today's video! So stay tuned!

    To clarify! I did make a mistake with my script and say that the Pokemon games are based off of the manga. This is NOT true. The manga is actually based off of the video games. But it still stands that these 3 characters have Pokemon on their teams that are inspired from both the Pokemon Adventures manga, and the video games in various different ways :)

    Believe it or not, Red has been advertised with Bulbasaur more than Charmander.
    Only Origins really has him focused with Charizard, while his main game counterpart from Yellow to S/M mainly is based on Yellow which he starts with Pikachu, the beta artwork, Manga, and the first episode of Generations is Bulbasaur.

    Now more than ever I would love to see a Kanto remake in which Green is a third character throughout the game. Have her steal the third starter like in the manga but as the game progresses have her become more helpful towards Red. And as a nod to her being outside Cerulean Cave in the Let’s Go games, it should be revealed that she is the daughter of Mr Fuji and it was in fact her DNA that was used in the creation of Mewtwo. She stole the third starter and began getting her own team of Pokemon because she fears bad people may use her to get to Mewtwo. I think it’s similar to Blaine’s story in the manga but I thought it works quite well as a story for Green.
    Red first encounters Green in Mt Moon where she uses the starter she stole and a Clefairy that she recently caught. She will replace the scientist near the end of the cave and will choose the other fossil. This way all three Kanto trainers can be associated with a fossil Pokemon.
    Later in the game as Red learns more about her, Green helps him in his fight against Team Rocket. They pair up at Silph Co to take on the team rocket grunts. While Red faces Blue and soon after Giovanni, Green bravely takes on the Team Rocket executives outside the president’s office.
    Later on Cinnabar Island you find Green in the Pokemon mansion reading some of the diaries left behind. She seems upset and tells you that what happened here was all wrong.
    The next time we see Green is in the post game where she stands vigilant outside of the Cerulean Cave. She challenges you to test if you are ready for what awaits within.
    Once you have defeated and captured Mewtwo Green will give you a mega stone depending on which version of the game you are playing.
    Green’s final appearance will be in Lavender Town where she is trying to rebuild a relationship with her estranged father. For reuniting the family he had abandoned in pursuit of his research, Mr Fuji gives you a location where you can find Mew, without any special distributions or passes. With the location added to the town map you travel to an isolated island in which every HM move is required to get through. Red will have to chop down trees, move heavy boulders, smash rocks, cross bodies of water that contain waterfalls and whirlpools as well as light up a pitch black cave. But at the end of it, in small meadow Red will finally be able to face and capture Mew. And this is all thanks to Green.

      @@mjm3091 Actually they likely are. The massive misconception is people thinking the original promo art disproves any manga connections. It doesn't. You have a better time arguing if you enjoy the manga, key-word enjoy, not just read.
      1. Altogether, they have a lot of Pokemon based on the trio's PKMN teams from Pokemon Adventures.
      2. Separated, they have at least two PKMN members from the Adventures manga.
      3. If you look at the new members that weren't from the manga's individual teams rather than altogether, they are actually quite fitting of their trainer's manga counterpart. However Red and Blue's personality have already been established by GameFreak before the manga. That's not the interesting part however.
      4. What's interesting is Green whose personality was established by GameFreak after the manga and seems to be loosely inspired by the manga counterpart who is a devious trickster. You can see from Let's Go Green's newer Pokemon, Victreebel a luring venus flytrap, Ninetales a cursed fox and Gengar, a devious trickster himself as fitting representations of Green from the manga.
      5. Blue's Mega Evolution is Mega Charizard Y. This was the mega evolution that Blue of the manga chose and he had a badass team-up with X/Calem's Mega Charizard X.

    • @Yaenipponcover
      @Yaenipponcover Před 5 lety +3

      @@TheNorth15 Unless Grame Freak directly address they are based from the manga(and most likely they won't), I'm afraid I'll keep on disagreeing . Red, Blue, and Green in the games have always been characterized by the Game Freak developers and based on their own original concepts and actual production. The special manga has always been about adapting characters and concepts from the games, never the other way around. Any "connections" can be easily brushed off as conjectures, like that bit about Blue's Mega Charizard Y.
      Then again, even though Green _might_ be the only one indirecly based from the manga just in terms of personality, it's still a loose reference. In the end Game Green is still her own character, who is basically a gag character (Almost the same the same can be said for Red, who has managed to be unidimantional thorough the years) The Green from the manga, especially the current one are too different aside similar apperareance.

    • @TheNorth15
      @TheNorth15 Před 5 lety +2

      @@Yaenipponcover It seems you have the wrong idea. It doesn't matter what came first or after. I feel the best way to explain this is that instead of asking yourself what came first, how about you ask yourself a different question? Why not both the manga and the guidebook art? Is it possible the games are adapting both material? Lots of people can argue for this so ask yourself that how can you argue against it? And if you truly have read the manga then you absolutely know many of these little but strong details I've pointed out cannot simply be ignored as simple conjectures. These little details will still be there whether you ignore them or not. Do you understand why the whole "the Gen 1 art came first" argument fails completely because it establishes no evidence that the manga connections don't exist. If anything the most accurate thing you can say is that the Gen 1 art from the guidebook deserves credit too.
      Second, you are right that it's an interpretation based on facts. Unfortunately as of now, this is literally the only legit counterargument that I'm aware of that has any real logic to it. It' also the same counterargument that can be used against people who interpret the RGB team as based on the art from the guidebook. Not to mention it's not a very good counterargument since there are very few sources to explain why RGB teams are built this way and I'm not just talking about the starter Pokemon. I suppose it would be more accurate to say that Pokemon Adventures serves as much, or moreso, of a great interpretation of RGB's teams as much as the Gen 1 artwork from the guidebook.

      A 40ish Episode series based on the Gen 1 Pokemon Special Adventures manga would be great. Hopefully we get Season 2 based on the GSC Chapters as well. Although deepdown I know we probably won't get Season 3 based on the Ruby & Sapphire story or the 4th Season of FireRed/LeafGreen & Emerald even if the manga gets turned into an anime. 26 episodes of Volumes 1-7 would be way too rushed so I worry that an anime adaptation would do that since they would obviously care more about the main anime that has lasted hundreds of episodes.

    Also Charizard fits Blue personality, as both are hot-headed and very competitive people/pokemon.
    Venasur on the other hand, is more passive and more chilled, like Red

      @@Yaenipponcover exactly. That's why it doesn't feel out of place for me. Just because his name is "Red" it means he needs to have the fire starter. It was to show the opposition with the green version where his rival has a Charizard.

      @@justatoaster3140 Maybe a stupid reason but i'm someone who choose a pokemon mostly from deisgn and not it's strnength (I'm not playing cp) and i never realy liked the Design of the Venasaur line, and unlike fire or especially Water, you can good (or at least decent) Grass type Pokemon earlier. Sure, Venasaur is not a Bad Pokemon, and heck one of the best Starters in Cp, it is just not mine taste.^^

      Thanks to Smash Bros & the Anime, Jigglypuff is more of a mascot for the series than Clefairy. Lets Go Jigglypuff (Pokemon Pink), is more likely seeing as Clefairy doesn't have that good a reputation.

    Yeaaaaahhhh noooooo, that is exactly the reason why the majority of the fandom sees each of them with those mons.
    Red = Fire
    Blue = Water
    Green = Grass
