@@alexcrisara4902 actually I plan to be riding my S20 when OHV riding is restricted because as long as it's not on fire itself it doesn't even need a spark arrestor.
I think it will be okay. I am kind of surprised with the abuse they were getting on the tour that one of them didn't pop sooner. You can't always see a crack in a PCB even if you inspect it after every drop - once the reliability became compromised it was a matter of time before it failed in some way and none of the core components came even close to dying until it ate itself completely.
Even though the fire was pretty impressive, they can still xray the remains of the BMS and other components in failure analysis when they get the parts back.
I would like to see several other models of wheels endure the same gauntlet and check their failure rate - that's actually kind of an interesting idea, if I were a dealer I would very much be down for seeing how far we can tour 2 of each type of wheel in the same manner the S20 tour went...that tumble down the cement embankment in Sacramento was *brutal* with an umlaut.

@@russellzauner I think Hasiang punctured a cell during his crash - cylindrical cells get more and more dangerous with time since the positive lead only has about 1mm of plastic protecting it from a dead short. I think superior LiTech batteries will solve many of these issues in the future.
I'm guessing all new EUCs from now on will need suspension? If so, I can't wait to see what other companies turn out.
I have one on preorder and super excited. I bought a "beginner" v8f wheel to satiate my spirit. But dang that wheel is so thin it trips on rocks and roots. Still love that wheel and pushed it to 30 the other day despite max speed is 22. But I honestly do need a suspension wheel. My old spine just cannot handle the jarring bumps.

Hey chooch bro! So I got myself a Sherman max and have about 40 miles of practice now. I wanted to ask about how or what settings do you have set as far as soft medium or hard and what those mean and also what pedal angle do you use between +15&-15? Do you typically keep you feet toward the front or the back of the pedal and also do you keep your feet closer or further to the wheel?
How does it do on loose sand? I go to sandy areas in upper Michigan where the trails are 50/50 looseish sand and the other half dirt.

Chooch short lesson :D ... not geared or programed ... motor winding is not made for that speed. A number of turns in a coil (for each pole) motor dictates that motor speed. If you want to change the speed of the motor -> you need to rewind it with different thicknesses of wire and change the number of turns. With the same voltage and current.

Anyone try riding with stiff boots like snowboard boots? I haven’t ridden one yet but just from watching it looks like snowboard boots would help take strain off legs. Lemme know what u think

@@SwitchUpYt to be totally honest I’d rather have the Eagle 🦅 that extra suspension travel and strength will massively come in handy going on jumps and off road trails, I looked at a lot of master videos off road and the suspension is like the s-18, and I have the S-18… don’t wanna go 50 mph I’d rather keep my limbs because eventually you will fall so that’s not important to me I’d rather have the best off roading experience and that’s the Eagle hands down, the S-18 could make it up almost any hill, having 50-100% better specs in every area will make it totally capable it’s the perfect wheel for me, but I’m a mtn rider specifically there’s a reason I’d rather have the progression suspension than the Eagle specs. Both wheels are have very different purposes, they shouldn’t be going toe to toe with eachother
People these days only want speed and more speed and by the looks of it many are only really excited about the master is because of the speed specs and nothing more, one deadly accident going 100 kph and these "enthusiast" will sing a different song and would ask why wheels are going faster and faster.
@@rigogen this and also, at this point the Master is all hype, for all we know it could also catch fire or have a range of 20kms when it hits the street. I really hope the Master is as good as Begode says but the way people are saying it's the greatest wheel ever before its even been tested by the community is beyond me.

The Eagle free spin is over 100km/h but only goes 70 so there’s that as well
31mph for me is a lil shy of what I want from a wheel so cruising at 35 with room for more power if needed sounds perfectly fine with me especially with much better suspension like the Eagle

yes the line was shut down cus of the virus but is now back up they the fire happened. they possible could do as much preamble till that cause is worked out

So I do have a question, and I know I may sound dumb but, I just found out about EUC’s a few days ago and they seem fun to ride and would be a nice hobby. So would this particular EUC be a good start? I am willing to pay the price because money really isn’t an issue and I’m not sure how well lower priced ones will handle. I live in the city so i really don’t have access to different types of terrains besides well obviously city roads. But any thoughts and opinions will help, just trying to learn.
I would honestly get a rs19 to learn on. It does it all really well and may be a better option for your city terrain.

I was looking at some of my insta360 footage last week and realised a dog chased me for a while, and eventually gave up since I was too fast. Didn't even knew it until then. Dogs don't stand a chance when you're on a EUC.
Seriously though moving things trigger their predation instincts. Just stopping usually deactivates the whole sequence and presenting your back act as a calming signal. This works with most dogs unless they have behavior problems but since you have no way of knowing if they do, outrunning them might still be the best solution.

It's not "programmed" either.
Top speed is capped at the RPM the motor is capable of, regardless of what its power rating is.
Given two motors that can both operate at the same maximum RPM, the only way that the actual top speed traveled can be modified is by changing the wheel diameter.
The majority of the software is just keeping the thing upright and running controllably - even if a higher top speed is able to be programmed into the unit, it may destroy or significantly shorten the lifespan of components andor the entire unit as well as defeat safety constraints that were previously managed.
It's my guess that the KS S20 fire in NYC was caused by reliability issues induced by everything seen in the tour videos and more, most likely a cracked BMS trace or solder joint given the broad spectrum of conditions and riders the engineering units have endured.
Congrats to KingSong and their affiliates/dealers for making a validation engineer's wildest fantasies come true. Everyone sees the failures as issues - I see one the best product debug efforts in recent memory. No lie. The more I think about the exercise and data KS got from this on their alpha/beta units, the more confident I become in the final product as well as KS's processes as a company.
I still haven't taken my V12 out of the box because I'm trying to hustle enough cash for a third S20 preorder and I want to sell it (still riding the V10F and I'm actually perfectly fine with the range/power for my road riding needs). Taking the dirt bikes out of my trailer made a LOT of room to fill back up.
just to repeat - if you are just getting into the sport as well as being a larger person, do not sleep on the V10F. When you're just starting out and building all those new muscles and reflexes, 20 miles on a wheel with some heft and grunt is more than you think it is and the V10F has the best pedal clearance and highest motor rating in that price tier while saving you probably 350USD over the next closest comparable ride.
By the time I achieve flow on the V10F one of the S20 will probably show up and then I can head right to the woods and figure out which coil I need to swap to for my 235lbs to successfully overcome the jungles of Oregon.

I've seen both on rides - and they always run in the opposite direction, with less than zero interest. this is definitely a good thing as bears can run 35 mph, and a mountain lion can reach speeds of 55 mph. Mountain lion can also jump 30 feet at a bound, and 15 feet up into tree branches. They are remarkable
